  2. Not much there to disagree with. The entire thread opening the 9th was Ozzie is being an idiot. I can't understand Oz not being more competitive with his own contract unless it was take this now or wait and Oz decided to strike while the iron was hot, even though he had to know if the team finishes in first, he could have doubled that contract. I was listening to Brantley and I thought he tape recorded his bit and just kept hitting play.
  3. Any thoughts on Big Frank's lack of playing time on the defense? I will agree that Frank is the greatest batter I have seen. I am troubled voting him the greatest Sox player of all time for the same reasons I would have trouble voting for a pitcher, the lack of all around play. And please, don't take this as a Frank bash. I love watching Frank battle a pitcher. I don't want to disrespect the man.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) Why the hell is he called Deep Throat??? He spoke on "deep background" never being quoted by name. Much of what he did was to confirm what Woodward and Bernstein were told by others. He also helped guide them to information.
  6. Isn't wins and losses where it is at? Has Oz cost us any games? Has he won any?

Keep in mind that along with Deep Throat were dozens of other Washington insiders, White House staffers, political operatives, spouses, girlfriends, janitors, and others who provided information. Many times Deep Throat was called on to confirm information. I remember at one time an article that concluded the source must have been in the FBI and pissed about Hoover's replacement. I do not remember whose name they proposed. I can't ever recall Felt's name coming up. I doubt this story would have panned out today. Too much trash journalism and talk shows would have shouted down the story.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) Second sexiest... with sexy outfit number one being a garter belt and a dry martini. I actually think that was an old Dean Martin line about what wives should wear be wearing when they ggreet their husband at the door in the evenings. I had to search who Dean Martin was If you forgot, you just had a birthday. Happy Birthday again. Geez old guys.
  9. He'll be back. That whole team is in a hitting funk.

QUOTE(winodj @ May 31, 2005 -> 07:22 AM) Opera is pre-firefox and was definitely an improvement over some of the IE 4 and IE 5 issues that people were having in 02 and 03 when I used it. There was also iCab, an opera like browser for the Mac that I used briefly too. I enjoyed Netscape 7 for a while, but my lappy died a terrible death so now I use my 6 year old iMac with OS 8.6 and a browser so outdated that nothing looks right anymore. Does that make you retro-cool?
  11. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) Questioning me as a true Sox fan? LMAO. You really are a comedian. Name another person who lives over 5 hours away and routinely goes to 10 games per season. I'd like to see that list. It's not long at all. Soxfest? Check. Spring Training? Check. Minor League Games? Check. At the Cell Often? Check. Watch nearly every game in its entirety? Check. Get your facts before making absurd comments. Or maybe grow a bit thicker skin and realize that not everyone slurps Frank Thomas. I love him as a player, don't particularly care for some of the stuff that he has done. I believe we should lay off Abo. After all when the bashers came after Buerhle early last season in the continuing decline thread, Abo calmly added his comments why Buerhle wasn't in decline and accepted the baching of his favorite player.
  12. I was just fixin' to start a thread. Damn SS got to it first. No wonder he's #1. Happy 25th Birthday!!

Depends on what other trouble you have been in. First timer, no jail time. Now the police may have arrested you on battery, but the city/state has to decide if they will charge you. Depending on the severity of what happened, you may wind up paying a fine for drunk and disorderly. At least that's what use to happen when I was younger and dumber.

QUOTE(soxman352000 @ May 30, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) Girlfriend, right sure you do inflatables have bras? I kid, because I care™* *Used my permission. Winodj, got anything to add
  15. Texsox replied to Texsox's topic in SLaM
The one hand trick is dependent somewhat on the fit of the bra. There needs to be just a little slack to allow the thumb to ease against the reinforcement while the other fingers pull the hooks towards the other side. One key is hesitating slightly before releasing the two sides. No need to waste that moment. The advantage of front clasps is then everything moves out of the way. Rear hooks leave too much stuff right in front. Nice for a back rub, bad for anything else.

I forgot to add, it's followers have a cult like addiction. Possibly even worse than Mac users. I'm using Firefox and loving it. I only have one site that I must use IE, and that's only because I'm too lazy to reach into Firefox and figure out what setting is causing me to hang up.

I lump Moore with all the other celebrity political movements. Whether from the left or right, I don't value their opinions anymore or anyless than I do the posters here.
  18. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) That was vintage Gammons. Who really gives a crap what that tool has to say anyhow? I'm liking him less and less everyday. His Red Sox love affair is really :puke
  19. I'll take A-Rod
  20. I'd like Ta-Koch-su pitching for the opposition and Ozzie in the other dugout
  21. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 30, 2005 -> 06:32 PM) Looks like John Cleese's illigitimate son... I'd have to see him walk first . . .
  22. Members helping members, it's a beautiful thing. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 30, 2005 -> 06:30 PM) Any red-blooded male who voted for the rear hooks option obviously never saw that Phoebe Cates scene from Fast Times at Ridgemont High... Besides, front clasp = one handed manipulation, while a couple of back hooks = you'd better be Houdini. QUOTE(Brian @ May 30, 2005 -> 07:14 PM) humina, humina
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 30, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) More like: Left: Stan Van Gundy Right: Phil Gingrey

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) Saw a news story about a new web browser called Opera--has anyone tried it? Any comments? Thanks! Nice little program. Takes a bit to get use to and some files load funny. Developers rarely check to see if their pages work with it.
