If players started signing contracts based on lower wages so the team could sign more free agents, like the Yankees, there is no guarantee of winning. But my original question. Are teams hurting themselves when they refuse to sign a player based on his agent?

How many people here asked their employer, when an offer was made, if the company could gain market share by paying them less? How many would take a cut in pay to help their company gain market share?

I voted for one of the candidates and will still cast stones. Both parties fielded their weakest candidate in my lifetime. I would easily have taken Dole over Bush and Dukakis over Kerry. My two previous worse candidates. We have as a society dumbed down our elections to the point that only people who should not be President will run, and those individuals who would be great choices, will not subject themselves to the process.
