  1. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 07:14 PM) and then i see the 2nd thread. it would have been funnier if you had limited it to 1 Upon further review, yep, I should have stopped at one. This one was an accident. We've been having more and more boxing matches down here with the new arena and a few of my buddies were debating who was the best Mexican fighter.
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) Two threads started within a few minutes of each other about someone named Chavez. Are you just trying to talk about someone with the last name of Chavez that isn't named Eric? I want to be the all-Chavez web site
  3. It's all about upgrading without digging a hole in the 40 man roster too big to climb out of. I'm tired of leveling off peaks to fill holes.
  4. Interesting Article. So many great Mexican fighters to choose from.
  5. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 09:02 AM) Maybe. This is a topic that really bugs me because everyone runs around crying about how what the Republicans did to Bill Clinton was wrong. He did it to himself. If he would have just come clean, none of the BS would have happened. But to a point athomeboy points out, every level of government does the same damn thing. They are all a bunch of corrupt bastards. The GOPers would have made it an issue even if he came clean. What would have saved him was if the blew dress came clean. I do agree that he got all he deserved and more.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 08:34 AM) Please, no, the visuals I am getting are too much. I know what you are getting at, but I am seeing Bea Arthur in a thong, with a front clasp!!! LOL!!! Bea is exactly what I was picturing
  7. Different times, different crimes. What set Tripp apart is she turned in a friend who was confiding in her. While most of us don't have access to information of national importance, we do have friends and we expect them to keep secret the secrets we tell.
  8. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 31, 2005 -> 09:02 AM) Man, tough room.... we know your act . . .
  9. What I find interesting in this, and other similar matters, is we (the US) keeps score in dollars and cents. Something on this scale isn't completed until money exchanges hands. Note to self
  10. Technically, if she was elected, would it extend the Bush dynasty? I know, that was soooooo bad. What the hell do y'all expect from me?

Damn, 36 replies and still nothing from Winodj :rolly
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) I remember when I first heard this interview and he said Dusty was there and stuff too, so im sure if it was a lie Dusty or someone would come out and say so... Hell Bonds hasnt even denied it has he? I don't take celebrity denials as adding to or detracting from the veracity of a report. Bonds, like many celebrities, could spend his entire day denying statements. I wonder if he meant by white people, Ron or the people who would benefit? And he could have easily said not to opponents.
  13. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) Ummm, what did Brantley say that was wrong exactly? He said the same thing that 23 posters in the game thread said. Ozzie blew that move, no doubt about it. Also, Brantley is or should be announcing for the out of towners who are not familiar with the team.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 08:55 AM) Some are even shorter, so the bottom half of the cheeks hang out of the bottom. Which is sexier...one piece or two piece swimsuits?? Is the one piece the top or the bottom?
  15. I can say that in my 12 years as a volunteer, I have ever seen it in either Council I have been involved in. The closest situation is when a Scout shows up and pays his annual registration fee and then decides that Scouting isn't for him. While he has stopped attending Troop meetings, his membership has been paid and he is entitled at any time to start attending again. Those kids are left on the roster until their membership expires. We have also done membership events and signed kids up and assigned them to units. It is up to those unit volunteers to follow up and make certain the kids are attending. It would be impossible for the paid staff to follow up on hundreds of boys.

I am just happy we have options. Some of this is just mouse sweat stuff, really no big deal. Timo or Willie isn't going to impact a single game. Either one could be a villian or hero on any given day. The starters are going to win or lose the division. Takatsu is a different story. Bouncing around AAA may not be his dream of seeing America. I could see a AAA stint making things worse for him, not better.
  17. Even though it isn't from here . . . Team W L PCT. GB White Sox 35 17 .673 - Twins 29 21 .580 5.0 Indians 25 25 .500 9.0 Tigers 23 26 .469 10.5 Royals 14 37 .275 20.5
  18. Not much there to disagree with. The entire thread opening the 9th was Ozzie is being an idiot. I can't understand Oz not being more competitive with his own contract unless it was take this now or wait and Oz decided to strike while the iron was hot, even though he had to know if the team finishes in first, he could have doubled that contract. I was listening to Brantley and I thought he tape recorded his bit and just kept hitting play.
  19. Any thoughts on Big Frank's lack of playing time on the defense? I will agree that Frank is the greatest batter I have seen. I am troubled voting him the greatest Sox player of all time for the same reasons I would have trouble voting for a pitcher, the lack of all around play. And please, don't take this as a Frank bash. I love watching Frank battle a pitcher. I don't want to disrespect the man.
  20. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 28, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) Just slippin’ on by on LSD, Friday night trouble bound They do mean Lake Shore Drive

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) Why the hell is he called Deep Throat??? He spoke on "deep background" never being quoted by name. Much of what he did was to confirm what Woodward and Bernstein were told by others. He also helped guide them to information.
  22. Isn't wins and losses where it is at? Has Oz cost us any games? Has he won any?
  23. Texsox replied to AddisonStSox's topic in SLaM
Keep in mind that along with Deep Throat were dozens of other Washington insiders, White House staffers, political operatives, spouses, girlfriends, janitors, and others who provided information. Many times Deep Throat was called on to confirm information. I remember at one time an article that concluded the source must have been in the FBI and pissed about Hoover's replacement. I do not remember whose name they proposed. I can't ever recall Felt's name coming up. I doubt this story would have panned out today. Too much trash journalism and talk shows would have shouted down the story.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) Second sexiest... with sexy outfit number one being a garter belt and a dry martini. I actually think that was an old Dean Martin line about what wives should wear be wearing when they ggreet their husband at the door in the evenings. I had to search who Dean Martin was If you forgot, you just had a birthday. Happy Birthday again. Geez old guys.
