QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) Since we have a tiger section already, does this mean we are skipping a twins section? (which is our next series) I've been looking for some nicer Twins fans.

My guess is she was up against the curb and gave it enought gas to walk up the curb. Anyone who has tried to back up over a curb can attest it takes some speed. I was just backing a gooseneck trailer and a 3/4 ton pickup over a curb and was stuck until I pulled forward and popped it over the curb. She may have really floored it, and when mom fell, she may have struck her head.

I've used both and once you switch it just takes a little while to get comfortable with the new program. I like Norton's One Touch Fix feature and left that on when I switched to Computer Associates Free Virus program from Road Runner. Free is almost always better.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 10:26 AM) 137 have 1,000 posts QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) And Southsider has the rest. It's got everything. Humor and a poke at Southsider, the McDonalds of posters. Over 1 billion served.

Who moves a company to Pittsburgh?? You move away from Pittsburgh. My guess is a nice incentive package brought to you by the tax payers in Pennsylvania. Good luck in the search. Besides networking like crazy, don't forget to post your resume on Monster, Hotjobs, Career Builder, etc. After wading through the crap, I did receive some good leads and offers. But be prepared for a lot of crap offers to work for free.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 11:13 PM) Hellz yeah baby. But man, I couldn't make up statistics this beautiful. Not even in my sweeeeeeeeetest dream.... Did you make certain the experiment was not confounded or biased? What were you working on?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) what is the responsibility of mods and adnins? To stop problems before they get out of hand. Increase traffic by starting and moving along threads, keeping the forums looking active by pinning and unpinning topics, getting Jas beer, checking sigs and avatars to avoid questionable or banned content. Probably the most important is to respond to member complaints. That's why I always thought Helen Waite would have been a great screen name for a moderator. We could tell people to go to Helen Waite. It can be tedious when you are reading threads you have no interest in, just to be certain flames haven't erupted.

Thought I would open up a specific place for the upcoming series. I've always liked how Detroit supports the Tigers and any baseball fan that had an opportunity to hear Ernie Harwell call a game was in for a treat. A great Hall of Fame announcer.

I had problems with the proxy last year and I should have received the game. They agreed it was an error and sent me a $15 gift certificate to mlb.com for shopping. I have a nice pair of Sox shorts for the inconvienence.

First sub 100 minute game in decades. I am waiting for opposing teams to start and ice Mark. I know I'd be taking my sweet time getting to the batters box of I was facing him. I rushed home to catch the game, saw the scrolling update on ESPN and thought why is the Sox name in yellow?

Jon only has 87 pitches. If Oz brings him out, he better be on a very short leash. Like not be bringing the tying run to the plate.
-
Oz needs to make a pitching change. Jon pitched 7 strong. Trust the pen.
-
Now entering the game for the Sox. Judy Garland. Come on, get out of this and let someone else finish it up.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) I just got the sweetest data ever. Oh, I could tell it was good before I even ran the stats on it. So, wonderful..... High t-value confirming your hypothosis? That's what happens when you make up stats

QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) They're already defending them... pro bono, as well. :headshake I like that we have an ACLU, but they do a horrible job of picking their fights. Agreed. When groups like the KKK, NAMBLA, and the John Birch society are allowed their constitutionally guaranteed rights, I know that we have not discriminated against anyone. By defending the least worthy among us, it guarantees everyone's rights. As despicable and wrong as this seems, it is part of our free society. It is the gift we are trying to give the rest of the world, and wondering why they do not want it.

QUOTE(Hall of Famer @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) Does that Mariners site want us over there also? http://www.sportspot.net/forums/index.php?showforum=1 It's eerily similar. Some very good baseball fans over there. They love the Olivo, Reed trade. One guy posted it may go down as their greatest trade ever. One of the things I am hoping to do is Scout out some other sites and invite them to post here and vice versa. I am looking for "our" kind of sites.

I was looking for this thread, I knew it was here somewhere. Not to make more than this deserves, but I think Ozzie may need to watch for some killer instinct and guard against easing up once a series is won. I think some/a lot or this is substitutions, but even that could be worrisome if we aren't deep enough to win with our B game.
-
Welcome Mariners fans From a distance the franchise seems rock solid. Always competitive. A good blueprint for a smaller market team. They have a couple of my favorite players on the roster. Good Luck. It should be a nice series. The Mariners have been on a roll.

I would guess this will be the tightest moderated place at soxtalk, from both sides. To make this work, we have to respect the fans from the other teams. We all know that, for example, if we were born in St. Louis we would probably still hate the Cubs, but be wearing Cardinal red. Of course if we were born in New York, we are probably twisted enough to be Mets fans I wouldn't mind getting a fans perspective on what their team is doing, the highs and lows and hearing what they think of the White Sox. I'm glad we didn't think of this a couple weeks ago, no one would believe it

QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) Here in New Jersey, its an off-air position, but has the potential to be VERY lucrative. Welcome to broadcast advertising sales, you will do well

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 07:17 AM) Well, gang, I start classes for my MBA in two weeks. I got some of my other classes from my other grad degree to transfer, which I guess is good. No soxtalk time for me... I better put the parental lock on this site so I don't waste all my time here. Should be interesting, at any rate. Awesome, have fun. Gage can take over the technical duties* *And we all will be off the site for a while

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 05:08 AM) I boycott that goddamn Bob Rohrman and his mindnumbingly irritating commercials during Sox games... "Theres only 1, Bob ROAR-man!!" :puke HUdson 3-two seven hundred . . . The oldsters will remember that one.
