  1. Oz needs to make a pitching change. Jon pitched 7 strong. Trust the pen.
  2. Now entering the game for the Sox. Judy Garland. Come on, get out of this and let someone else finish it up.

  4. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) I just got the sweetest data ever. Oh, I could tell it was good before I even ran the stats on it. So, wonderful..... High t-value confirming your hypothosis? That's what happens when you make up stats
  5. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) They're already defending them... pro bono, as well. :headshake I like that we have an ACLU, but they do a horrible job of picking their fights. Agreed. When groups like the KKK, NAMBLA, and the John Birch society are allowed their constitutionally guaranteed rights, I know that we have not discriminated against anyone. By defending the least worthy among us, it guarantees everyone's rights. As despicable and wrong as this seems, it is part of our free society. It is the gift we are trying to give the rest of the world, and wondering why they do not want it.

QUOTE(Hall of Famer @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) Does that Mariners site want us over there also? http://www.sportspot.net/forums/index.php?showforum=1 It's eerily similar. Some very good baseball fans over there. They love the Olivo, Reed trade. One guy posted it may go down as their greatest trade ever. One of the things I am hoping to do is Scout out some other sites and invite them to post here and vice versa. I am looking for "our" kind of sites.
  7. I was looking for this thread, I knew it was here somewhere. Not to make more than this deserves, but I think Ozzie may need to watch for some killer instinct and guard against easing up once a series is won. I think some/a lot or this is substitutions, but even that could be worrisome if we aren't deep enough to win with our B game.

Welcome Mariners fans From a distance the franchise seems rock solid. Always competitive. A good blueprint for a smaller market team. They have a couple of my favorite players on the roster. Good Luck. It should be a nice series. The Mariners have been on a roll.
  9. I would guess this will be the tightest moderated place at soxtalk, from both sides. To make this work, we have to respect the fans from the other teams. We all know that, for example, if we were born in St. Louis we would probably still hate the Cubs, but be wearing Cardinal red. Of course if we were born in New York, we are probably twisted enough to be Mets fans I wouldn't mind getting a fans perspective on what their team is doing, the highs and lows and hearing what they think of the White Sox. I'm glad we didn't think of this a couple weeks ago, no one would believe it
  10. QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) Here in New Jersey, its an off-air position, but has the potential to be VERY lucrative. Welcome to broadcast advertising sales, you will do well

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 07:17 AM) Well, gang, I start classes for my MBA in two weeks. I got some of my other classes from my other grad degree to transfer, which I guess is good. No soxtalk time for me... I better put the parental lock on this site so I don't waste all my time here. Should be interesting, at any rate. Awesome, have fun. Gage can take over the technical duties* *And we all will be off the site for a while

  14. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) I bring this up because I remember several articles in the papers and a couple of threads on here about how the govt was short changing the states money to fund security requirements. I kid, because I care™ It is interesting that they either waste money or are irresponsible and don't spend it. Or perhaps we figured out that in a free and open society, we basically have to trust people and take the bad with the good.

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 09:36 PM) I'm having a major Ipod problem. I've had mine since may and it's worked absolutely flawlessly until now. Yesterday it began freezing and skipping some songs in bunches. I thought maybe my files were bad so I cleaned out my Ipod and got rid of all songs. Now when i transfer them back on, it freezes. It gets through around 500 songs and just freezes. What should I do? Apple's support site is of course not working right now. Anyone got any help? Send it to me. I can fix it in a year or two Couple things to try. It may be corrupted files that you just reloaded. Try loading just one CD, then a few more, and see if the problem continues. Allow the iPod to totally drain and then restart. If it's an anomaly in the system, re-booting in a sense may help.

I settled in to watch some vintage Rage Against the Machine and 10 minutes in, there's a Cubs jersey on the base player. I had to turn away, it was terrible. So I added Rage to my boycott their Cub lovin' ass list. I am also considering adding Sound Garden as well. Who else do we need to add?
  17. QUOTE(retrovertigo @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) Yeah, I know. The media certainly buried the whole issue with McGreevey in New Jersey, didn't they? Give me a freakin' break. Every other post I've seen here from you is "OMG BIAS!1!!!" As a conservative, it's quite embarassing. After years of denying that media bias exists, I have finally seen the light. Y'all convinced me.
  18. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) Without question it's C Lee. I witnessed his talent as a CubKilla in person both at the Cell & at Wrigley. I will always think of Carlos when they play the chi-town series. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) A jugger post without numbers

  20. QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 06:01 PM) LF 2B DH 1B RF CF C 3B SS Seems like whoever is playing in a certain position is playing where his defensive position dictates. Timo batted 5th yesterday. Ozuna leading off today. What's with Ozzie?? I assume he wants the rest of the guys to stay in a comfort zone.
  21. Figures a government worker would criticize other government workers for not spending every last dime of our tax dollars. What a concept. A government worker or agency not spending every last dime and actually being responsible like private industry? Eliminating waste. Maybe we budgeted too much money?
  22. QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Maybe its because there's very little positive about DeLay. Does coverage of Chappaquiddick in 1980 during Kennedy's run for the Presidency show a then anti-Massachussets bent to the media? Are you trying to deny a media bias against Texas? It's everywhere.
  23. QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) So you think its ok for Congressmen to say you can understand why someone would want to murder a judge if they're from Texas? I think if someone from Idaho said it, it wouldn't get national attention. The only other Senator to be quoted just happened to be from Texas? That's a 50-1 shot. Just proving the Texas bias in the media. I haven't read one positive piece on Delay in months. Talk about unbalanced, biased, coverage. 100% negative articles. :headshake
