I think we needed Nixon's last year, Ford, and Carter, to have Reagan. After nearly a decade of indecisiveness and public plans like WIN (Whip Inflation Now) and the 444 Day Hostage Crisis, The stage was set for a tall, confident, cowboy like Reagan. Carter is histories greatest ex-President. I think if Reagan's health and age hadn't been working against him, he too could have done a lot of good, just in different ways.
