First Jobs
QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) First job was at a sporting goods store when I was 15 for $5/hr. Worst job I ever had was a summer at Great America. They worked me like a slave. 6 days a week when I was 16 and pay was junk. You did get a 1 hour break and a 30 minute break which was kind of nice. Lots of good eye candy around the park as well. Great America was my best job in High School. Ride Operations Kicking tires on Turn of the Century, Haybailer, and Sky Whirl My first was at a golf course for $3 per hour and all the golf I could play. I quit when they cut back on the golf. If you are looking to make a lot of money, look at a construction site, paving crew, lawn crews, etc. Hard labor pays ok. Cool factor get Red Cross lifesaver certified and hang out at a pool. Summer Camps need staff, one of my Scouts is spending 10 weeks as a life guard at a camp in the mountains. Food and Room plus $200 per week.

Florida's New Law
QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) I think he's pulling a little "Modest Proposal" At least in Texas, you have to take a class and pass a test to get a concealed handgun permit. Presumably, they could all take safe shots. The sight of 10,000 handguns at a Sox game would be awesome. Although, since alcohol is served, it may be an off limits area.

Florida's New Law
QUOTE(Nokona @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) ...Says the Texan. I'm just trying to be more agreeable to all the GOPers here. By pass the whole stupid court system and do it yourself. A little wild west justice. It's about time that law abiding citizens took back our country and if a little blood has to spill, so be it. Like Governor Jeb Bush of the Bush Family Dynasty or BFD as I like to call them said. "It's just a common sense anti-crime law'" Don't stop at reporting crime, do something about it. It's nice to see the GOP making giant strides without liberal Dems around to water down the laws. How could anyone be against this law? The only people getting shot are criminals. Think about this, a few years back when Liege ran on the field. 10,000 Sox fans pull guns and shoot! No one else would ever run on the field again.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) Dude if you state your opinion here you will be bashed. Then if you start an argument with a moderator it is all over. All the sheep will come and help. So you will lose this argument 10 out of 10 times. baaaaa, actually argue with mods all you want. Beware of admins, they can sentence you to banishment or worse, the MLB boards. Mods are designed to get beat up. We're the air bags for admins. That's why Southsider is such a good looking young man.

Twins make fun out of the Sox
That is pretty good and they really do not bother me at all. They should love their team and I'd be more pissed if it was an Indians or a Tiger's jersey instead of ours.

QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Bob Dole's wife has talent and political acumen? So does the Delay family. It's part of their Texas values. It just comes naturally.

Florida's New Law
Now we got us some real law enforcement! http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/a...ns_050406201103 Every state needs this law, and every citizen should be armed. Imagine if all neighborhood watch groups and other crime fighting volunteers could shoot first when they see a criminal. That'll stop crime in it's tracks. Yee Haw! FlaSoxxJim I envy you.

Catch-All Anything Thread
Dear Nuke_Cleveland, Early this afternoon, Senator Harry Reid, the Democratic Leader of the United States Senate, held a press conference on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court. Thanks to you, there were a million people standing there with him. That's how many dedicated individuals signed petitions and newspaper ads supporting Senator Reid's determined efforts to prevent Republican leaders from undermining democracy by making judicial nominations a narrow, one-party exercise. I am proud to report that 236,498 of those signatures were submitted by you and other members of the johnkerry.com community. We added our nearly quarter of a million names to those collected by the Democratic National Committee, MoveOn.org and other citizens' groups. We're acting together because we know what kind of judges will sit on the bench if George W. Bush never needs a single Democratic vote to win their confirmation. And we know what kind of decisions those judges will make - decisions that will define the meaning of freedom for decades to come. Thank you so much for standing together with over a million other citizens in this effort. We still have a lot of work to do before the Republican leaders abandon their so-called "nuclear option." But, you helped make a powerful statement yesterday when 2.1 million people saw our ad in USA Today - and today when you stood on the steps of the Supreme Court with Senator Reid. Sincerely, John Kerry

Bush Passed over Carter to take Rice
QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) You may be right. But I believe in most cases that when a man is faced with his own mortality, that tends to lead to some character adjustments. He is intellectually deep and very charismatic (Wait! He's from Arkansas?) and I really think any president would be smart to put Clinton into a position like the UN Ambassador. He would be great for the UN. The nightmare scenario for a GOP President would have Clinton as head of the UN and the UN at odds with the US (Like Iraq) Clinton is all the things you mentioned and a PR battle between Clinton as head of the United Nations and a sitting President would not be good. Which is why I doubt a GOP President would ever nominate him.

Bush Passed over Carter to take Rice
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 11:42 AM) He'll think of something. It is obvious that he wants to do SOMETHING. I have no doubt he will pick a cause. I agree, but doesn't it seem that Human Rights picked Carter? I've come to believe that Clinton is intellectually deep but shallow of character.
