  1. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) On a side note, I also think the great Suburban sprawl will help the party a lot. Younger people like myself that are buying their first house are moving to areas that were typically solid Republican areas. (Batavia-area, Round Lake-area, Plainfield-area, etc) Thus I would expect races in these heavily Republican areas to get closer and closer each year. Interesting you mentioned Round Lake (Lake County). Lake County was the most solidly Republican county in Illinois for most of the last century. They did not re-elect a Democrate to any office between 1900 and 1995. Micky Babcox was coroner for decades despite not being a Doctor. When the laws changed and he was no longer eligible to be coroner, they elected him Sherrif :headshake What a machine.
  2. Dems to Force Election Result Debate I still find it troubling that we have Dems and GOPs in charge of elections. It seems that there needs to be a non-partisan or at least a balanced process in place. Does it really make sense that the head of a party's campaign should be in charge of the election?
  3. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) Unbelievable! McVeigh was a child compared to this scum bag. I read all about him. He was bad news. Drugs, beaten people, murder conspiracies, & a major vendetta against the DEA&FBI. Lawyers are out of F'g control! I hope someone in OK protests against this. Call your local officials & complain, complain, complain! Do it so often they get sick to their stomach & change the law there. Would you also limit the amount of money the state spends to convict the accused? Limiting the resources that an innocent poor person has is a great way to get poor people off the streets. Poor, accused of a murder? Just go right to jail. Save us all some money, hell we know you are guilty. Rich, accused of a murder? Hire a legal Dream Team, search for the real killers, and in a few years, attend your college's BCS National Championship Game. Justice, American Style
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 03:08 AM) I don't claim any party affiliations other than US citizen. I believe in the GOP stance that gov't works better on the local level. I also believe that the unions need to regain their power base. I hate the fact that the House-Senate-White House are all controlled by the same party. I believe our judicial system needs to swing back to conservatism, but at this point in time that is dangerous with the GOP contolling all other branches of federal gov't. I vehemently distrust both major political parties and don't think either one has the best interests of the US and her citizens at heart. They have the best interests of the party at heart. We NEED a strong moderate ticket to run in '08. I'd bust my ass to get a McCain-Leiberman ticket elected. /\ what he said /\ Thanks YAS, saved me a bunch of typing.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) Condoms suck. They always fit too tight around and they hurt like hell. I had to start using these boring as hell ones called "Magnums." Pisses me off that I can't use any of the cool colored ones or sensitive models. One size fits all my ass. :fyou Condom Company... Anyone else see what he's doing wrong?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 01:37 PM) I had an idea for a prize. Usually hotel guests get 4 free passes to each day of Soxfest. If this is the case, I will have 2 extra passes at least one day of the fest. I know this doesn't work for the out of towners, but how does that sound for a prize??? What happened with amateur athletics? Competition for the thrill of the competition? That is very nice and thoughtful of you.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) OMG How do y'all do this photo shop stuff? Is there some type of program that you can download? Because I wanna do something with "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly", but I dunno how. Photoshop is pricey, ($500+) but the best and easiest to use. Almost any picture editing software will allow you do make a decent project.
  16. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 11:28 AM) Tex, that was a very ambitious project you undertook. Interesting read. I will have to ponder this for awhile. Just to be clear, I stumbled across it on another site and thought it was a very interesting summary of White Sox history.
  17. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) What setting do you put it on? pot scrubber ifyou don't want mom and dad to find the porn
  18. QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) While I don't like the Patriot Act, I'm not sure of your poll question? Are you asking, "Should he be prosecuted?" I say, YES! I don't think it's abuse. Contrary to what they tell us, I don't believe pointing a laser at a pilot would cause him to steer out of control, but I think this guy thought that it might and wanted to find out for himself. I think the worst part of this he won't even get charged for and that's blaming his daughter. :headshake I think he needs to be charged also. Just not 25 years. My first thought was he was covering for his daughter. I know if the feds came to my house and it was my daughter and I and my daughter pointed it, I would take the blame in a heartbeat.
  19. Found this and thought it was interesting. Just one fans opinion. Looked pretty well thought out and reasonably in order.
