  1. Agreed. As far as voiding contracts, would the player be a free agent if he was busted for a hooker? Is it his choice, the team's choice, or mutual?
  2. That's right, you've mentioned that before. Does KW and JR play good cop ~ bad cop? IMHO, when Frank's playing days are over, a Frank statue should be placed at Cominsky.
  3. Then certainly DUIs should also cause a firing. Now should their also be an automatic suspension? Imagine of a player wanted out of his contract, he calls up a hooker, then calls police, and he's an instant free agent?
  4. Both teams deserved to be in over Utah. Shall we discuss the automatic bids so that some conferences are not left out? Should Michigan be in over Cal? Without an automatic bid, Michigan wouldn't be in.
  5. Tell that to Cal and USC

  7. That's about the starting point. Plus you usually share the corn costs. These deer are finished up with corn for a month or two to improve the flavor of the ones that are processed. Many of the herds are carefully managed, aerial surveyed, crops planted just for their consumption, etc. It is business for some. For a real sticker shocker, price out some of the guided hunts at the King Ranch. We also have opportunities for exotics as well. Various animals have been imported and carefully controlled. I have not heard of any of the guaranteed kill hunts like in Africa where they will pen a Zebra, big cat, etc. in and basically let you process it like cattle. But there are some that will charge $X for the hunt and $X++ if you are successful. I've seen some antelopes on one ranch. Almost everything here is in stands with rifles. Not a lot of shotgun for deer. Also very little archery.
  8. I do think it is safe to say Frank will not be hanging around the ballpark shouting let's play two today. It seems to me he hasn't had the warm cozy relationship with the team. Next time he'll look up diminished skills in the dictionary.
  9. There is a difference between an "at will" employee and one who is under contract. There are rights and responsibilities for both parties. People are arrested for a variety of crimes and not lose their jobs. How many athletes have had DUI s and kept their jobs? Is hookers worse that DUI? Steroids worse than hookers? Cocaine worse than steroids? I guess I would lay it out hookers

  11. Closer than grabbing a package from Jewel's butcher shop. Remember, someone had to kill the cow. I respect a vegetarian for criticizing hunting, but when someone criticizes hunting while munching down on their McDonald's Big Mac, I have to laugh. IMHO anyone who eats meat should be required to kill and process an animal. If after that you still want a nice t-bone, you earned it. The season is just now beginning in south Texas. One of the adjustments I had moving down here is everything is on private land and they charge $$$$ for access. No friendly farmers wanting you to thin the herd. Here it is expensive leases. Besides all the usual expenses of travel, processing, etc. add $1,500 and up for access. As a side note, we also have a big feral hog population. Those can be had for almost nothing. They love the corn that is put out for the deer.

Too bad the GOP Radio Network cannot speak in green I do believe, as victor, Bush should have some claim to pushing ahead his agenda. It worries me when I read his own party is concerned about some provisions. But then again, those party members were there before Bush and hope to be there long after Bush, and have a much different view of the political world.
  13. Perhaps Maggs never intended to sign a contract with the Sox. Healthy or not. Maximum salary or not. I think Maggs could be pissed that the team shopped him during the last off season and decided to leave then, but for PR reasons isn't making that declaration (smart guy). Signing with Boras is not something you would do if you wanted a decent chance of re-signing with the Sox. There are other top notch agents that he could have signed with. He saw what hell A-Rod went through when he wanted out of Texas, why make that same mistake? If that scenario is accurate, he wants out of Chicago, I wonder how many people that think he should sign with Chicago for less, would respect him for going somewhere else for less, if that's what he wants? No matter what the scenario, I do not see him improving on the last Sox offer. Financially he will be signing a worse contract than he could have had before the injury. If all he wanted was to maximize his paycheck, he lost that gamble. If he wants out of Chicago, he will get that desire. Do we really think that any team is going to sign him without a workout and full disclosure of his medical records?
  14. Texas has been screwed the past few seasons.

  17. Actually the computers seemed to like Texas and the humans voted Cal, at least from what I could see on ESPNs site. IMHO the weak sister in the Utah, Texas, Cal trio was Utah. You could build a great case with any of those teams, but in a round robin tourny, I think Utah is the weakest link. All great teams who had excellent seasons. One team won a weaker conference the other two finished second in their conference with their only loss to a team playing for the National Title. I'd bet Auburn would love a playoff chance.
