Man o' man I hope drinkin' was involved. Honey, you looked just like a mouse standing there.

Butler, another good mention. Steff, on your list of ten funniest comedians, how many are female?

I couldn't get the link to work, it kept timing out, but based on the thread title . . . Politically it would never happen. Bush would never allow it, and Kerry would be equally against it. Bush wouldn't allow a Dem and Kerry wouldn't want to play second fiddle with Clinton in a high profile position. However, I think Clinton would have done an exceptional job. I would like to see an American heading up the UN, but I do not see our ass clowns in Washington allowing the "other" party to have the spot. So no to Clinton, no to Carter, no to Elizabeth Dole, and no to Bush the elder. Who would be a good compromise candidate? Someone who is not too identified with either political party. Colin Powell pre-cabinet spot when no one really knew where he stood politically.

I think you are on to something there. Plus look at singers, all of the top selling artists have been men. Not that there aren't some great females singers, but the top selling artists are all men. Actors usually over shadow actresses. I wonder if it is a cultural thing. Does anyone know if there are societies where this is reversed?
-
If I asked you for your top 5 would she be in it? I also like Kathy Greenwood. I'm just wondering why more aren't at the top of the list? Roseanne had her moment.

He's in LA., certainly he knew at least one crazy cajun who would have cleaned that problem right out. I gar-on-tee that problem would have been solved and weeeee eee, them's good for ya!

Which female makes you laugh? I always enjoyed Jane Curtain, but for the most part there doesn't seem to be a lot of really funny females. Certainly none in the same category as John Belushi, Robin Williams, Ed Murphy, Richard Pryor, etc.

Just for the record, rabbits are great pets, in smaller numbers. Mine is litter box trained and cute as a . . . well cute as a bunny. They chew when young but quickly grow out of that, no worse than a puppy.

Amen to that. I agree with the end result of making the campaign responsible for the ads. I just have a hard time telling you, that you cannot take an ad out in the newspaper supporting your candidate. I feel like I'm restricting your speech. Yet, I really dislike these newest groups.
-
Was that a car? It looked like a spare tire for a Hummer I was trying to see the person inside, they must have been s***ting a brick.
-
I'm beginning the think the only winners in a presidential campaign are the tv, radio, and newspaper outlets who are paid in advance for running political campaign ads. $$ = Increased odds of winning or better yet your $$$$ > opponents $$ = Greater Odds of Winning Mr. Smith does not go to Washington in the 21st Century.

LMAO. I think he ruined someone's day there.

That is a l o o o o ng drive. Think they faked the Alzheimers for a free $1200 cab ride? 1/2 through the trip he found out they didn't have the money. Dude, before I passed the El Paso city limits, I'd of had 1/2 the money in my pocket.
-
I agree. It isn't just money but celebrity that gathers publicity. No one os tuning in to hear what Juan Hinojosa from Wheeling has to say about the issues, but they will to hear Dennis Miller or Barry Bonds.
-
It's all part of the game. The Swift Boat Vets have received over $13,000,000 to air their commercials. Free speech is a wonderful thing. I love all the GOP groups who have contributed to Nadar's campaign.
-
I would think he wants publicity, if that comes from a fight, so be it. In that regard, he isn't much different than any other docu-drama producer. The worse thing that could have happened to the Swift Boat guys was to be ignored. And human nature has those that are ignored, upping the hype until they get noticed.

Isn't Israel4ever a lawyer?
-
As I said, you took the high road and that is commendable and classy I hope if you ever make an error, the other side has the same restraint and class.
-
I hope they watched how to close a LCS on the road last night. Although without the Evil Empire, no matter who wins the WS, I'll be happy for the winner and sad for the loser so I can only hope for exciting, clean, fair, baseball without controversy.

In defense of attorney's and Title Companies. When I dealt with companies setting up shop in foreign countries something always stuck with me. When you buy some real estate in the US you are 100% assured that the title is clear. That someone isn't going to pound on your door demanding you vacate their property. We have so many attorneys because we have so many rights and freedoms. [/back to lawyer bashing]
-
First of all congratulations on doing the right thing but . . . I believe the Title Company is normally obligated to cover these types of mistakes. They are the insurance to the buyer and seller. You may wish to contact your attorney, or perhaps a new one.

Well said winodj.

I believe if we judged candidates by their motives to be President, we could not vote for anyone who wants the job. There has to be a tremendous amount of hubris on a candidates part to desire the office of President. To subject yourself, your family, your relations, and your friends, to the scrutiny that political life brings with, is not just for the pure of soul. There has to be a conceited motive, a hunger for power, a thirst for personal accolades driving the candidates. I accept that on both sides of the isle.

From winodj in the SSI thread. It is always nice when someone takes the time to state their opinion with grace and style.
