My daughter's Texas History teacher started class last year by telling the students that the administration complained about the noise coming from their classroom and that one student was going to be suspended for two days. This is a Gifted and Talented class with all high achievers who being suspended was a major scare. Since he didn't know who was the problem they were going to pick cards to determine who was going to be punished. The poor girl who ultimately was selected was in tears crying when he explained this was to teach them about a key event in Texas History the Black Bean Epsiode. Good thing the loser was his daughter.

My local Central League team the Edinburg Roadrunners just destroyed everyone during the regular season and finsihed sweeping the Amarillo Dillas (home of Palehosefan) and hold a 1 game to 0 lead in the championship series. Winning baseball is fun!

Friends of mine owned an apple orchard up in Lake County and had a bunch of cats. The cats loved to climb into the dryer and take advantage of the warmth. One day she dried a load of clothes and 4 cats died. Very, very sad. I remember her sitting at my house for hours with big tears.

Thanks Jas for keeping it positive by starting off with the poster boys of consistent productivity. Right now he's the #4, and hopefully will drop to the #5 by spring. I like him at that spot and expect him to have a great season next year.

WAAAAAAIT a minute. He tried to rob a copy store, asked for directions to a specific bank, then 40 minutes later robbed it and got away. Why didn't the fine clerk at the copy store call the police and alert them? Why didn't the police have a couple of guys waiting for him at the bank? If the would be robber walked into a Blockbuster in PA you can damn well be assured he wouldn't have gotten out.

I find it to be the height of hubris for any one person, even the President, to stake claim on the US being safer or less safe because of them. It will take the entire US to make us slightly safer or slightly less safe. It shows the lack of planning and preperation this President puts in. If I'm been dissappointed by anything it is that he didn't drop his shoot from the hip style that catagorized his management in Texas.
