Reagan was the teflon president. Nothing could take him down when he was alive, and it certainly isn't going to change any minds after his death. I fact, it will only galvenize his image.
  2. Actually Cheney needed a slight of hands to run. One of which was he residency. Haliburton is headquartered in the Dallas area. Back then Chaney did work. As I saw on The West Wing last night, now his principle constitutional responsibility is to have a heart beat, which has been a challenge for him. Man if I had his job, I'd have over 17,000 posts here like you.

It's been a long time for me, and they never isolated what it was. Basically they are going to try and recreate what caused the reaction. At least they will be there to respond. Not much different than your auto mechanic trying to get the car to make that same sputtering noise. Did you happen to see Cotts while eating the shrimp? God Bless, Good luck.

I think CW's posts point out something that is important to our society. First off, democracy isn't pretty. While someone may achieve almost god-like status in one corner, he is being torn down in another. Yet another check and balance. The conservatives and the "Reagan Democrates", would have left him in office forever as many liberals would have liked Clinton for 4 more years. Reagan wasn't perfect, he made some mistakes. I've defended Clinton's handling of Bin Laden as correct and I must also defend Reagan's handling of Saddam, etc. Revisionist history is wrong. Every person makes mistakes. Even hindsight isn't always 20-20. I've come to believe that Democrates are more interested in the future and the GOP trying to preserve the past. CW, why not move forward, work to get Kerry elected, trying to highight Reagan's mistakes is counterproductive.
  5. I think it disrespects Japanese baseball not not consider their league as an equal to MLB. Look at some of the guys that have done the reverse, would you consider a 32 year old ex-MLB player a "rookie" in Japan. Change the rules, it isn't fair for the guys that are just up from AAA.
  6. You don't know 4 year olds

This is how I know I am not a liberal. I didn't think like that, in fact I said very many nice things about the qualities I respected in him. Funny, Ive been voting Dem almost straight party for 10 years now, but I'm not a liberal.

  9. OMG, don't let Heather read that
  10. To me it's simple, Chicago is my favorite city in the world, and the place that I still, despite a mortgage elsewhere, call home. I would take a Chicagoan over someone from Detroit, Minnesota, or Kansas City in a heartbeat. If the Sox would move, say to Florida, I would switch to the Cubs in a moments notice. Until that moment, I'd have pictures of billy goats and steve bartman in my library. Perhaps even a Leon Durham autographed baseball card. You only can really, really hurt the ones you love.
  11. Actually Bush broke from conventional wisdom in picking a fellow Texan for V.P. that and creating an eight month calendar to lower terrorism numbers

LOL, yes they were. I did not think that postseason counts in season totals.
  15. Damn, we're getting some bandwagon jumpers!! Encourage them to stay and pack the park. I believe we are in competition with the Cubs for the casual fan. Let's win that one also.
  16. Who cares? at least 5,800 people in Chicago

I was looking at some Sox records and first off I forgot what a year Albert had in 1998. Damn he was solid. But one record has me wondering. How did Belle and Walker (different seasons) play in 163 games for a season?
  18. I just think it is so funny how everyone talks about how we saved the money on Colon.
  19. Knight came through and fixed it nicely for me. At first it was just for our 5th starter.
  20. If you are refering to Alomar, I think Mark Buerhle has some input. but it's getting close.
