  1. The way I see the competition for eye balls and wallets is thusly, I could be wrong. There are great baseball fans on the north and south sides and they follow their favorite team. They are very uch like us, know the game, are passionate, and so forth. They may go to a game at the Cell to see the Yankees, or some other top line player or team. But for the most part, they will not be Sox fans. Then their are the accountants on the cell phone discussing the 3 flat. Guess what? That's how we get to 3,000,000 in attendance, that's how we sell out. We are battling for the very fans we are sticking our noses up at. It's an expense account outing to the ball park. Buy that Koch jersey on sale for 1/2 price, get that extra hot dog and beer.
  2. Any sign-a-rama, Fast-Signs etc. can do that. If you did your own art work in WOrd or something simple, you could have it printed large format on paper for under $25.
  3. corg would love the fact we're talking about him. He will show it to his mom, and she'll pat him on his head, and tell him good boy.
  4. I agree with your comment, mine were out of line. quickman and I shared a couple pms and I hope he as accepted my apology. he did not want to post it publically, so I will not go into details here. Next matter not quickman: Some of his analysis and predictions are so far off base and wrong I'm surprised that anyone still believes him. I do agree with much of his opinion on the Sox. He is obviously a good baseball fan. But a successful businessperson who doesn't understand corporate loans?!
  5. Couple random thoughts; Koch is an upgrade for more than a few teams, but we would have to cover at least part of his salary. He could be moved. At least publically, showing confidence in Koch keeps his value up. I wonder if Koch has lost confidence in himself? Perhaps he suffers from ED and just needs Viagra? Man think about that commercial, it would bump Palmero's off the air. Even Bob Dole's. He goes out and makes a bunch of saves and credits the blue diamond.

A couple of reasons. 1. The GOP attacks on the media. They are calling their guards bias until the public let's them guard themselves. I do not trust politicians that far. 2. The GOP attack on "activist Judges". The judicial branch is our check and balance. The GOP wants to enact whatever they want, not have it reported and believed. Two safe guards down the tube. This too gives the politicians too much power. 3. Spending. They can fund programs without raising taxes. How nice. I can have my cake and eat it to. In fact, if I eat a lot, the economy will grow so fast, we'll have even more cake! If they had to raise taxes to fund programs, we'd know, and could vote them out. I am also against the dealth penanlty, too much power to the government. I think the GOP has a lousy civil rights record, environmental record, and is too old white male dominated. Now I can also run a list of social issues I'm less than excited about from the Dems. It's a lesser of two evils issue.
  7. Isn't it ironic, W is accused of being, well less than the most intelligent person, so he gets Chaney to run the country, which would be a smart thing to do, disproving he's as thick as a brick, but if he takes over the reins, he's an idiot and oh my, my head hurts
  8. If I am tracking with you, it would be a sad day to debunk the guy. He seems to be so wrapped up in this on line persona, he made implode. I would hate to see someone swallow a barrel because he was exposed. Obviously he has low self esteem.
  9. :headshake Now that I see the guys fat ass knocking into the little kid, he's even more of a prick than I thought. What a f***ing moron. The hell with the ball, you could have really hurt the kid. It seemed like the girl next to him was giving him some room in the subsiquent shots.
  10. Isn't part of the excitement of ROY, the promise of a great career? How is this guy going to pan out. Give me a Dontrell Willis type. Not some guy at his peak or even on the way down.
  11. I've been hearing that more and more. Somehow that makes me feel better. I don't like kids playing without supervision.

Reagan was the teflon president. Nothing could take him down when he was alive, and it certainly isn't going to change any minds after his death. I fact, it will only galvenize his image.
  13. Actually Cheney needed a slight of hands to run. One of which was he residency. Haliburton is headquartered in the Dallas area. Back then Chaney did work. As I saw on The West Wing last night, now his principle constitutional responsibility is to have a heart beat, which has been a challenge for him. Man if I had his job, I'd have over 17,000 posts here like you.

    Allergy question..

It's been a long time for me, and they never isolated what it was. Basically they are going to try and recreate what caused the reaction. At least they will be there to respond. Not much different than your auto mechanic trying to get the car to make that same sputtering noise. Did you happen to see Cotts while eating the shrimp? God Bless, Good luck.

I think CW's posts point out something that is important to our society. First off, democracy isn't pretty. While someone may achieve almost god-like status in one corner, he is being torn down in another. Yet another check and balance. The conservatives and the "Reagan Democrates", would have left him in office forever as many liberals would have liked Clinton for 4 more years. Reagan wasn't perfect, he made some mistakes. I've defended Clinton's handling of Bin Laden as correct and I must also defend Reagan's handling of Saddam, etc. Revisionist history is wrong. Every person makes mistakes. Even hindsight isn't always 20-20. I've come to believe that Democrates are more interested in the future and the GOP trying to preserve the past. CW, why not move forward, work to get Kerry elected, trying to highight Reagan's mistakes is counterproductive.
  16. I think it disrespects Japanese baseball not not consider their league as an equal to MLB. Look at some of the guys that have done the reverse, would you consider a 32 year old ex-MLB player a "rookie" in Japan. Change the rules, it isn't fair for the guys that are just up from AAA.

This is how I know I am not a liberal. I didn't think like that, in fact I said very many nice things about the qualities I respected in him. Funny, Ive been voting Dem almost straight party for 10 years now, but I'm not a liberal.
