But notice how you were able to add another posts . Of course, learning from my mentor, I added three. Look out Brando, I'm passing you.
  2. As soon as we win a few more pocket books, the Cubs will suffer. I actually believe WGN and being a super station with all those day games made the Cubs. If they didn't have that huge edge at the damn of cable tv, we'd have kicked their ass in the late 1990s and 2000.
  3. A heart condition is very scary. Everytime you experience a shortness of breath or twinge in the chest, it's cause for concern. His workout regime probably added years onto his life. It's reminicent of Jim Fixx and Hank Gathers.
  4. I am a little surprised? Were not religions outlawed? I'm not surprised because I believe Cults were kind of a privledged thing. If you are in the Sudan trying to scratch out a living and feed yourself, you may not have the time or the money for such a thing.
  5. As you pointed out, at one time Frank and Belle were making a huge portion of the payroll. Based on what you've said, you would not have signed them. I am trying to understand how the team would look if we follow the reasoning of no player at more than say 15% of payroll. Wouldn't we have a roster of Valentin type guys everywhere? A few guys at near the minimum hopefully improving quickly before their contracts are up. As soon as they get to the $9 or $10 million mark we trade them for prospects. We hope for a Marlins type team to emerge. Am I far off?
  6. Research: Endangered mouse never existed This is what prompted my question. I'm a tree hugger or environmental wacko as Rush would say. I think we have a responsibility to preserve the earth for future generations. But when I read articles like this, I begin to think we may have gone too far.

I'd like to be 16 and look like 10.
  8. We start with the little countries and work our way up to the nuclear ones. When people the world over fear us, we're in trouble. If they resect us and know we act fairly at all times, we have a chance. If they have a bomb and feel cornered, it's AMF time.
  9. So you are saying you would not have signed Maggs or Frank to their current contracts. Just wondering.
  10. For example can you damn a stream if your neighbor's land becomes dry? Can you destroy a species that doesn't live anywhere else? Can you cut down all your trees and cause mud to slide into a neighbors? Should you be allowed to build a 6 story building in a residential area? Should you be allowed to pave over your property if it causes flooding for a neighbor? Are plants, animals, birds, etc. worth protecting or is it their tough luck to be born on your property and they could be killed to extinction?
  11. Brando, are there these f***ed up cults in Russia?
  12. How about our current payroll, would you have signed Maggs or Frank to their current contracts? Both at some point, ate up a considerable portion. So it isn't if a guy is worth the contract, a guy may be worth his contract to a large market team and not a small market team.
  13. I want my own cult. How much for yer weeeeeeoman?
  14. I find it amazing that the Dems get zero credit when the GOP did not have control of both houses. Without the social spending, the feel good wouldn't have. It was democracy at it's finest.
  15. It seems that Ventura and Baines went on to play pretty well after they left the Sox. You said position player so Foulke is out of the discussion. One of the points I think you made is there is little drop off between a $12 million dollar player and a $8 million dollar player. I just wonder if that difference is the difference between WS and no WS.

Imagine if this was a 10 year old girl and it was Harrison Ford :puke But in this scenario, damn to be young again
  17. Of course Nuke with all the biological and nuclear testing they do on our military personnel, it stands to reason their just off plumb
  18. Of course their opinion is important, but of course the administration will parade some equally pedigreed military and diplomats that claim it is the right course.
  19. I think interleague play hurts the All-Star game. When it was played for the fans, it gave us those matchups you normally wouldn't have. When it was played for the fans, I could agree with the concept of letting the fans decide. Many big stars played on several more All-Star games then their stats deserved because that's what we, as fans, wanted. Now that the game matters, and the game isn't played for the fans, but to decide home field, make some money, etc. They need to take the hit in fan interest and remove the voting from the fans. Besides, why should the fans have any input?
  20. Juggs, I'm trying to follow your point. Are you saying he's not worth the money because of team rank, or because of the over all numbers? Would a player who was #1 on the team be worth 5/75? Would a guy with higher numbers be worth 5/75? Or, based on the current salary cap is no one worth 5/75? When you compare salaries, how do you decide what a valid average is? For example, if we used E-Lo as a basis for pitching last season, I'll bet every pitcher in baseball was overpaid, if we used Koch last season, every pitcher in baseball was underpaid. Would you change your mind of the Sox payroll was $75 million? $100 million? If KW could put together a line up of players who were all playing better then their contracts, would that be a championship team?
  21. From Queen Prawn in the Over 90,000, sox attendance this weekend was great! thread in Pale Hose Awesome Baby!

Actually I love people with strong ideals. Brando, I4E, Apu, and Nuke have kicked my butt numerous times and I love them for it.

I copied their headline but I believe it is still accurate as I understand preserve: keep or maintain in unaltered condition; cause to remain or last; "preserve the peace in the family"; "continue the family tradition"; "Carry on the old traditions"

Supreme Court Preserves 'God' in Pledge The father does not have legal standing to speak for his daughter, but that's a different issue.
