  1. LMFAO I just spit coke all over my monitor. I was thinking good thing it wasn't a one hoper to the SS, that might get you on base.
  2. That's a lie. I am infinately more doable and I do not have a one partner per year maximum. However, I am certain she is more desirable

How do we know the debt didn't spark the economic tournaround during Reagans tenure? We had the government spending, we had individuals spending,. credit card debt and National debt went through the roof. How can you split out Reagan's and congress' spending? If federal tax receipts go up that means people are paying more, not less taxes. And remember Reagan did ok a tax increase. But debt did destroy the USSR. They could not keep spending to increase their military as well as we could. Basically we played chicken with them and won. You just said debt is an unfortunate by product, I agree that it is. How would you balance the federal budget to fund this war?
  4. I honestly never expected any President to speak. I wonder if they are waving there usual speaking fees
  5. Butt I noticed y'all flocked to Steff's thread.
  6. They aren't asking Reagan to speak either I'm going to hell for that one.
  7. They should wait until they grow up and do it with alcohol
  8. Found on the Drudge Report. My favorite right wing site for links. Sorry, Billy I could see having President Carter, but you've had one or two too many scandals to be invited to speak.
  9. Brando, I am wondering if there is or isn't. A guy loses 5-6 mph and no arm trouble? But then how can a guy throw 94 and have arm trouble? Something happened.

I'm surprised she didn't get the chair in Huntsville. It may have been too busy.
  11. Did Harry give up his singing career and study law? I think we found a job for Koch. Go close up that pipe and keep it closed like a Dutch boy and a dyke

No company should ever hire someone, family or not, without an extensive interview. Hell, family should have the longest. Also, never take a job without meeting and spending some time with your supervisor.
  13. Steff, I guess you didn't like my post five hours ago with the same story
  14. No, but IMHO he should have. As much as I like Mr. Chaney, there were other candidates that would have helped his campaign more. The Haliburton, health, and other issues aren't something Bush should deal with in a close campaign. Chaney could have bowed out, citing health reasons, no harm no foul, and Bush could have had a stronger ticker. Same thing with Bush 41. Quayle was a laughing stock by the re-election campaign. Comedians didn't even have to parody him, they just ran tape. I've grown to like the man since then, but during that campaign he was an anchor for Sr.
  15. No. There are certain things local groups cannot vote themselves. We cannot say, for example, that ripping MPs is legal in my town. We cannot say, for example, that only Whites can live here. We are United States. By being a part of the Union, you must conform to some set of National standards, or else we are not United States, we are the Independent States of America. I agree that local ordinances for liquor licenses, speed laws, littering laws, etc. should be local, but they must also be legal on a Federal level. Judges are only activist if you disagree with them. They are operating within the scope of the Constitution. I've disagreed with several judgements, but instead of calling them activist judges, I asked my Congressman and Senators to get their activist asses off their chairs and get new laws passed that would be constitutional. Of course Judges pass judgement based on their judgements. That is why we pay them. Any two people can read the same thing and have two different opinions as to what it means. Further, our understanding of issues changes over time. Interraccial marriages is a prime example. Within our lifetime it has gone from illegal to common and accepted.

That's the point. The manager/owner/supervisor rarely gets fired. You will have to learn to adapt to the manager not the other way around. It sounds like the interview was not in depth enough. If you only lasted two days, the issue must have been major. Major stuff should be covered in a decent interview. BTW, if I was consulting for this guy, I would be giving him a longer list of what he did wrong. He did a terrible job hiring, opened himself up to legal action, etc. Firing someone is serious business in corporate America. He really needs to do a better job of screeening candidates.
  17. It gets old. Let him sing when they score a run, or maybe on a homerun.
  18. Bush 41 just kind of coasted. I think he had a tough act to follow. People wanted Reagan II and that was impossible. His campaign was un-spirited at best. In contrast to his youthful and eneregetic opponent, Bush just went through the montions. And IMHO, like his son would do years later, he didn't jettison his VP when clearly it would have helped with the voters.
  19. The Pro-life extremist have predicted that research facilites would be buying aborted fetuses and women would be conceiving, and aborting for fun and profit. Again, both sides make these extreme accusations that IMHO are out of step with mainstream America.
  20. Great trip down memory lane :puke Gonzales (Cubs shortstop?) should kiss Bartman's ass everytime the Cubs Collapse is mentioned. His error, not a missed FOUL ball, cost the Cubs a trip to the WS and the Yankees another Championship.
  21. There are a couple trends that are reversing what you pointed out. With NAFTA we are seeing more and more Pacific rim and European companies locating plants in North America. Basically manufacturing is getting closer to their customers. Eventually we will see American firms hiring people in (for example) Tiawan to service Tiawan customers and Tiawanese companies employing Americans to service their customers. Right now we are in the early stages of the movement and US companies are ahead of the curve. Reynosa, Tamaulipas Mexico is about 10 miles form where I sit. The largest Japanese Chamber of Commerce outside China is there and it is growing every day. Your comments on the China market are dead on. I have met with several businessmen who have been part of Rep. Hassert's trips to China. They all mention that the Chinese are not ready to buy American technology and higher ticker items. They are ready to buy jeans, coke, and Big Macs. Is the conservative aproach to take their tax savings and invest in China? Thus helping to spark the US economy? For the most part the US Government has a much better record of buying American.
  22. The name was familiar to me, a very famous guitarist cited him as a major influence. I cannot remember who it was.
  23. Washington, Lincoln, Hamilton?? If we are going to replace one, he's the one I would. Or put him on a new $2 coin.
  24. That's two things we agree on. Your avatar and this post.
