It is interesting how the GOP has used their criticism of the media. Basically they are telling voters to not believe anything they hear if it is critical of Republicans. They have made themselves teflon. You can only trust what the GOP tells you, very similar to the old Soviet Union and TASS. Cannot trust the media, we will take it over and have a government run media. Of course all you GOPers will believe a government run newspaper. This should probably be regarded as the greatest political victory ever. A free press is one of our greatest liberties and, as a tool to protect us from the government, even better than guns. But the Republicans have been able to get all their followers to dismiss that right. Beautiful thing. If the GOP gets criticized, it is the messenger that is wrong, not the GOP. And occording to the GOP, the media is one way. When they attack Clinton, they are 100% accurate. When they criticize Bush, they are acting on their bias. And when you look at media, which liberal media are you talking about? Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, Reagan, Drudge, We need happy news to keep this country from being "There's something totally out of whack in this country." Each day the newspapers should report only good things the Republicans are doing. Happy talk. No one is dying, no one is starving, all economic indicators are Happy. Then we will have an unbiased media.

I do not understand when the Sox are able to draw 15,000 on a Friday night, in a a battle for 1st place, why the Chicago media would treat the team like the "other" team in Chicago. I just picked a random Cub game and they drew 38,000 for a Thursday game, with worse weather, against the D-backs.

Lone Star or Rudy's for me. There is another place near Corpus Cristi and I cannot remember the name, also excellent. Y'all don't know B-B-Que until you've had Texas B-B-Que.

There are no athiest in a fox hole. It is within Christian values to defend ones self, family, and country. I would say that as a population, the service people I know are more religious than most.

And to follow up, shouldn't that weigh heavy at their trial? If you are 10 yards from your CO, I find it hard to hold the person responsible. I thought there is a very narrow set of circumstances that it is OK to defy an order.

Nuke, I keep hearing reporters here speaking about leadership at the prison, etc. I'm trying to understand what the command would be and where the people in the pictures fit. I'm assuming they are basically the military equivelent of jail guards, yet they seem to also be involved in the intelligence gathering process. Also, how close would their commanding officer be? I assume their CO is also at the prison.

Nuke, something we agree on. I favor a law that everyone should carry a gun. Then crime will drop to zero. I'll bet people will be more polite, drive better, give better service in restaurants. And drop that stupid restriction about guns in schools. If every kid in Columbine was armed, they could have stopped those idiots before they killed innocents. And especially in banks. If every customer and teller was armed, who would even think of robbing a bank? The only restriction I would place on it would be felons could not have automatic weapons. Everyone else could. Some of these people will not spend the time and money at the range and need an automatic weapon if they are going to stop criminals. Imagine a world with everyone armed. And for those of you that start thinking about locks etc. What good is a gun if it takes a bunch of time to unlock the damn thing and load it? Especially if someone is breaking into your home and you are half asleep. It would take forever to unlock and load. Top chamber, ready to fire in under 5 seconds, there may be no time to think. Criminals don't walk around with the gun locked. Honest people need their guns to be loaded and ready to go. Then we finally will take a bite out of crime.
