Michael Jackson just aplied for a teaching position

I would expand that to our division. Last year if we could have beaten Detroit, Detroit! we would be talking about the playoffs.
-
That would seem like the most likely scenario, behind Wright reclaiming his spot.

LMAO. The Nigerian scam is a classic and there are several websites devoted to it. When fax machines were new it gave a whole new opportunity and now with email the skies the limit.

For cw, who is an ordained Pastor, Padres makes sense a nd is good karma. Kind of like if they had the Washington Movie Ushers Plus they have so little to cheer for.

Barry Barry Barry :headshake Go read about Jackie's travel arrangements, or Larry's and tell me we haven't come a long way. Clemens is a f***ing pitcher. If you asked his Astros teammates what concessions they would make to have him come pitch, do you think they would have agreed ti let him stay home if he isn't scheduled to pitch? Dah. Hell, I'd let him sit in the stands and eat hotdogs if that's what he wanted to do between starts.
-
I enjoy the NL ballot better. I think this year I will join CWsox in his vote for all the Padres players.
-
I don't know why he's concerned, I thought it was the difference in velocity between pitches I expected him to settle into the 15-18 win range and Buerhle moving up a few wins.

And I hope this doesn't hurt his/her career. I am not certain how we can take this all the way to Rumsfeld and not then to the President. If Rumsfeld kept it from the President, Rumsfeld should be gone. I believe Rumsfeld was not aware of these abuses, and I'm not certain he should have until the reports surfaced. Moral and ethical blame and punishment will be different than political responsibility and punishment. The administration will offer someone's head to satisfy the political debt. I believe, before this is done, Rumsfeld will be gone. Probably by annoucing he will be accepting a position in the private sector and not be a part of the next cabinet. I like the guy; but in an election year, and judging by the severity of the abuse, it will be a cabinet level resignation.

I have heard comments like, "look what they did to us", "look at dragging corpses through the streets", "crashing airplanes into the World Trade Center" etc. I was not pointing to anyone specifically here. I am also agreeing with and amplifying what FlaSoxxJim said Rush earlier stated it looked like a fraternity initiation. That was early last week, probably before more of the photos were released. I haven't listened to hear what his current position is. Do you disagree with the statement that we have to model the behavior we expect when our soldiers are captured? I do not see how we can demand Geneva Convention standards for our servicemen and women and then break those same rules when we have prisoners.
-
We cannot simultaniously demand high standards then use the lowest abuse our guys receive as justification for our own transgressions.
-
I have a hard time blaming Bush for this. What I can compare is having untrained employees (soldiers) in key positions. In the civilian sector a good supervisor watches these employees to make certain they are following work place rules, being safe, productive, etc. As a CO, you cannot take a mechanic, call him a prison guard, then leave him alone. The commanding officers must take responsibility. How high, I do not feel qualified to say. But I do know some in country supervisors need to accept responsibility. These were not one time events.

I was just reading that Simon really seemed to go all out to appologize and make it right. Of course that wasn't covered as well as the bat to the head. -

Was Denver confirmed or speculation? I thought he hedged somewhat saying he would prefer to keep the team in Chicago, but etc. if however -
Sausage retires Mandy Block was recognized by the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council with a certificate of bravery. All for getting whacked by Randall Simon's bat.

McCasky inherited the team from Papa Halas. JR bought a franchise that almost no one (DeBartola excluded) wanted and kept it in Chicago along with Gov. Thompson and a stalled clock in Springfield. I still wonder what DeBartola would have done if his application was accepted by MLB. I think he would have sunk some more money into the team. But who knows if that would have equated to a Championship. Worst? Maybe it's penance for some unknown sin. I do believe years and years of amost full houses with a s***ty product contributes to his cheap ass, vindictive, ways. -
NOTE FROM CHRIS: Secret Service agents recently questioned a Washington high school student about anti-war drawings he did for an art class. The 15-year-old boy's art teacher turned the drawings over to school administrators, who notified police, who called the Secret Service. And as if that weren't enough.... Owners who are fan friendly and marketing savy are all over the minor leagues. For the most part they are fans who are living a dream of owning a franchise. They are more involved in the marketing and closer to the fans. The local Hockey team here in McAllen (Mexican Border Town) sent players out into the community all "winter" to promote the game. Kids received little handouts and goodies in the school that also promoted the team. I know being a new franchise and playing in a new arena helped, but they were in the top 10 attendance for independant and minor league hockey. Not bad for an area that sees freezing temperatures every 15-20 years. Plus, hockey players, IMHO are the greatest for interacting with fans. Worst is a lousy owner. I think I enjoyed the Keanan era as much for the winning as I did for Keanan's propensity to tweek Dollar Bill and is lacky Pully. In tandem we have the wirtz owner and the worst GM in all of sports.
