Nuke, I keep hearing reporters here speaking about leadership at the prison, etc. I'm trying to understand what the command would be and where the people in the pictures fit. I'm assuming they are basically the military equivelent of jail guards, yet they seem to also be involved in the intelligence gathering process. Also, how close would their commanding officer be? I assume their CO is also at the prison.

  3. And think about poor Cheat at the Cell. Imagine a couple hundred fans pulling weapons and stopping that fight.
  4. Maybe he had a nice insurance policy that didn't have a suicide clause for people who were born one sex and raised another

  9. Nuke, something we agree on. I favor a law that everyone should carry a gun. Then crime will drop to zero. I'll bet people will be more polite, drive better, give better service in restaurants. And drop that stupid restriction about guns in schools. If every kid in Columbine was armed, they could have stopped those idiots before they killed innocents. And especially in banks. If every customer and teller was armed, who would even think of robbing a bank? The only restriction I would place on it would be felons could not have automatic weapons. Everyone else could. Some of these people will not spend the time and money at the range and need an automatic weapon if they are going to stop criminals. Imagine a world with everyone armed. And for those of you that start thinking about locks etc. What good is a gun if it takes a bunch of time to unlock the damn thing and load it? Especially if someone is breaking into your home and you are half asleep. It would take forever to unlock and load. Top chamber, ready to fire in under 5 seconds, there may be no time to think. Criminals don't walk around with the gun locked. Honest people need their guns to be loaded and ready to go. Then we finally will take a bite out of crime.

when you burn them, do they make cool ash trays like vinyl albums? I just threw out my Disco Duck LP ash tray
  11. Wouldn't be cool if Ozzie pushed the guy and chased him out of the locker room instead of jstb swearing at him? :headshake
  12. Try geting tickets to a Cubs game, now try getting tickets to a Sox game. We are the other team.
  13. Do not be surprised. If there was a web site devoted to your company, and you might be mentioned, wouldn't you read it? Players have a lot of time on their hands, love sports, and most are wired. And congrats Abo
  14. We have a great group of starters in our farm system. One is going to emerge, a la Dontrell Willis.

My luck to see Jim everywhere my Junior year. I finished second in my conference as a Sophmore and thought I culd run the 880. Then I watched Jim and realized I sucked. By the way Joe Newton at York High School is arguably the greatest High School coach in any sport. His "Long Green Line" won about half the state titles in the 60's and 70's. Just an amazing program.

I'm 50 over my college cross country weight. But it's slowly dropping. I need to be around 180-190 for a 2 week backpacking trip in New Mexico next year.
  18. I'm going to sneeze, just a feeling. We're on our own for pitching this year. What we got, is what we got.
  19. Or the second has Billy Botch on the mound. I am so glad that writers have figured out we have nothing. I think it is far better to have writers asking "Wow, can you explain how you guys are doing so well when everyone thought you sucked?" instead if You are .5 games out of a division you were suppose to dominate, what's wrong?"

Seriously, running a marathon isn't really that difficult with about a year to prepare. Guys who are racing marathons on the other hand You should never really go into oxygen debt in a marathon, it's more just logging the training miles, gently increasing your max run into the 20 mile range.
  21. That was almost the same conclusion I had. I assume he was dead before the decapitated him. Since they dumped the body, I am certain an autopsy will show what happened. What will be interesting is if an autopsy is done, by whom, and if the family and public will be told the results.

Damn that's tough. My race was the 880 Yard run (showing my age) I ran a 1:55 downstate and finished last in my heat. My best mile time was a 4:28 split in a 2-mile medley relay. I did run a 3:30 marathon that I consider my best race. I floated through that race. I swear I could have run 50 that day.
  23. Brilliant logic. Save $5 on a ticket, spend $50 on beer :headshake
