  1. Anyone else find this match funny in a weird sort of way? I'm just watching the avatars flying past me. VS.
  2. Yesterday Maggs nails the game winner from the #3 spot in the lineup. Who has been the holder of that spot for the last decade? Frank. While everyone was mobbing Maggs, I think Frank was hearing The King is Dead! Long Live the King! We may have watched the passing of the torch in more ways than one. I only hope Mags is around here to carry it as well as Frank has.
  3. I just do not know why Frank does this. He should be basking in the glow of his best PR move ever, the switch to cleanup. Just a hunch. Was he feeling sad it was Maggs AB instead of him in that situation? If he doesn't volunteer the switch, he would have had the chance to be hero.
  4. Chicago has been blessed with some Hall of Fame Caliber athletes who have also been PR machines and role models. Walter Payton comes immediately to mind. Ryno, Magneson, MJ, Bo Jackson, and a few others also come to mind. Sadly, Frank has never managed to polish his PR skills. Actually if he had better PR skills he could have picked up $$$$ in endorsements, which would have over shadowed his contract.
  5. Nothing like a little Frank to get some excitement going.
  6. April 16, 2004 (Today's list was originally published on April 5, 1999) The Top 14 Signs You're Married to a Liberal 14> In your wedding vows, "love, honor, and cherish" were replaced with "legitimize, empower, and respect her reproductive freedom." 13> Pile of burned Ken Starr effigies in the back yard is starting to block the sun. 12> Supports Al Gore for President in 2000, but has no idea why. 11> After a poor performance in the bedroom, you find yourself enrolled in a federal program to correct your shortcomings. 10> To rectify years of persecution to women, she makes you wipe your own ass. 9> Misses your funeral to protest the harsh sentence given your killer. 8> You casually mention your "Euthanize the Homeless" idea and -- BANG! -- no sex for a month. 7> What, the family budget is *BALANCED*? Quick, let's get to the mall and buy something! 6> Insists his socks are not mismatched, they're "diverse." 5> He was a tireless advocate of gun control until the impeachment hearings started. Now he owns a rocket launcher. 4> At the height of passion, cries out, "Tax me!!!" 3> It's bad enough that he looks like an extra from "Deliverance" -- now he can't keep his loudmouth Cajun trap shut on those talk shows. 2> Constantly pelts your cats with ketchup, screeching, "Fur is murder!" and Topfive.com's Number 1 Sign You're Married to a Liberal... 1> She's got the kids playing "Barbaric Imperialists and Innocent Native Americans" again. 7. Koch and Zero cast large shadows. And wouldn't you know it, they have big gauranteed contracts
  8. Farside had one were you are looking through the scope and the bear in the middle is pointing to the bear standing next to him.
  9. Sadly, I'll remember him more for: The Migraine The "I'm not getting the ball" Pout
  10. Imagine if JR went to Frank and told him he wanted Frank to be paid fairly based on each season's stats. We are going to offer you a 1 year contract and at the end of the season, negotiate next years. That was Frank you will never have to worry about not being paid fair market value. I'm certain Frank would jump at that If we are going to talk numbers, and not that it has anything to do with this but, wouldn't it have been nice if Frank could have hit his weight during the 2000 playoffs? Or Joey Cora's weight? Of his bat weight?

    Is Cilantro Fuzzy?

I just opened a container of pico de gallo and whoops! It's been in the fridge a little too long.
  12. On second thought, you better not. The thread would just wind up getting locked

Pounder This!!!! There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra than on Alzheimer's research. That means that by 2020, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

Union Rules A dedicated Teamsters union worker was attending a convention in Las Vegas and decided to check out the local brothels. When he got to the first one, he asked the Madam, "Is this a union house?" "No," she replied, "I'm sorry it isn't." "Well, if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?" "The house gets $80 and the girls get $20," she answered. Offended at such unfair dealings, the union man stomped off down the street in search of a more equitable, hopefully unionized shop. His search continued until finally he reached a brothel where the Madam responded, "Why yes sir, this is a union house. We observe all union rules." The man asked, "And if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?" "The girls get $80 and the house gets $20." "That's more like it!" the union man said. He handed the Madam $100, looked around the room and pointed to a stunningly attractive blonde.. "I'd like her," he said. "I'm sure you would, sir," said the Madam. Then she gestured to a 92-year old woman in the corner, "but Ethel here has 67 years seniority and she's next."

As the airliner pushed back from the gate, the flight attendant gave the passengers the usual information regarding seat belts, etc. Finally, she said, "Now sit back and enjoy your trip while your captain, Judith Campbell, and crew take you safely to your destination." Joe sitting in the eighth row thought to himself, "Did I hear her right? Is the captain a woman?" When the attendants came by with the drink cart, he said, "Did I understand you right? Is the captain a woman?" "Yes," said the attendant, "In fact, this entire crew is female." "My God," said Joe, "I'd better have two scotch and sodas. I don't know what to think of all those women up there in the cockpit." "That's another thing sir," said the attendant, "We no longer call it the cock pit. Now it's the box office."

Cows Is it just me or does anyone else find it amazing that our government can track a cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of Washington. Also they track her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around Canada and the USA The solution is to give every illegal alien a cow.
  17. I agree if Frank was negatiating a contract today, he would be paid better. But he negotiated this contract already. If Frank wanted to be paid based on each year's numbers, why did he sign a multi-year contract? If his numbers went down, would he be demanding a new contract? Sorry, no one forced him to sign the contract. Was he expecting worse numbers when he signed? Anything can happen in a multi-year contract. Some players will subsequently sign for bigger and bigger contracts. (Frank knew that) His number could go up, they could go down (Everyone knew that) He could get hurt There could be a strike There could be a salary cap In a multi-year deal, players trade security for possible future earnings. Sometimes the player wins (Koch) sometimes the player loses (Frank). A team cannot continue to turn their wins to losses and keep their losing contracts as well. Then teams would lose on every contract.
  18. Ah the evil misquoter strikes again. Steff, I'm a little busy, would you take care of this for me? Come to think of it, they probably were also on the forfront of latex design, miniature electronics, piezo buzzers, virtual reality, and just for you PA, I found an Amish Porn Site for your relocation to the Amish.
  19. Would this be a good time to retire 44? IMHO, one of the biggest things that baseball has over football and basketball is the history. People want to see the link to the past. Monument Park at Yankee Stadium looks very cool on TV. I also like the prominent displays. I hope they leave room for Frank
  20. Well to those that had two weeks in the "how long can Frank be un-selfish" poll You Win!!
  21. Dude, at least save up your own money, using mom's to kill her is wrong. Of course if his Mom had been killed, and he was caught, he could always tell the Judge to have mercy since he is an orphan.
  22. The Porn industry has been on the leading edge of many trends and technologies. Look at early VCR sales, internet commerce, etc. Aids awareness and protection is another area. Amazing, but true.
  23. Bar Trivia. Now we have a setting, it's easier. What is the currency in Bedrock? (Clams) When is Earth Day celebrated (April 22) What is in a Waikiki Beachcomber (3/4 oz Triple sec, 3/4 oz Gin, 1 tblsp Pineapple juice ) Which NBA team won the most games in the 1980s? (Milwaukee Bucks)
  24. I'm reading the article and it all makes sense to me. How many millions should any Sox player give up to play for the White Sox? If you were Maggs, would you give up $3 Million? $6 Million? $12 Million? Colon received an extra year gauranteed, at his salary. Should he turn down all those millions? Last time I looked the White Sox weren't a charity. Maggs deserves that level of compensation. He has been, and will continue to be a class act. He should be the cornerstone of the Sox franchise for the next 5 or 6 years. Build the team around him.
