  1. Of course our opinions don't matter since we are just a baseball group. The only people who can freely comment on any public policy are those who are not affiliated with any group or organization. We can dismiss some people because they are National Geographic subscribers so they are environmental wackos, these people hang out in Internet bulleting boards so they are fanatics, etc. Jim's opinion doesn't matter because he's sold his soul to the Republican party. Vince's doesn't matter because he sold his soul to the Dem party. As long as we can identify someone with a group their opinion isn't valid. Or does that only apply if they are religious? The only Americans who can have an opinion are the atheists.
  2. Campaign Staff "Let's use your leadership after 9-11 in an ad" Bush "Great idea. But Americans may have forgotten that those towers were destroyed, I know I forget sometimes and y'all have to remind me." Staff "We could show footage of the towers and a flag draped casket to remind them. That way we won't have to spend as much time explaining what you actually did" Bush "Great idea. Maybe the folks will confuse me with that Rudy guy who was in all the tv spots" Maybe you needed the president to tell you to display a flag or go to a prayer service or memorial service, maybe you needed the president to tell you to donate to the Red Cross or crawl at ground zero on your hands and knees for days trying to find a survivor. Most Americans did not. He should take credit for what he did. To show the grave of the thousands who were not found is wrong and insensitive.
  3. I would be outraged if kerry used pictures of flag draped caskets to remind us of VN Have some respect for the dead. Or does that not matter to the GOP?

  5. If your family dies in a house fire, and I was running for fire chief, would you mind if I showed your house going up in flames and your family dying inside? "Sorry buddy, I know losing your wife and kids was rough, watching them die and all, but I did a damn fine job afterwards and I want everyone to know." Gross. He is using a national tradegy to get re-elected. He is trying to confuse the spontanious outpouring of national pride and sympathy as something he did. Do you believe we wouldn't have put up flags, held prayer services, and other memorials if someone else was president? Are Americans so stupid they needed W to tell us how to react? Do not use a national trategy for personal gain.

I invite you to explain how cutting taxes and increasing spending helps. So far no one has been able to explain how cutting taxes increases money going to Washington. I am certain it helped Bush raise $170,000,000 so far for his campaign.
  7. I want to party at Steff's house
  8. And don't forget Koch became a feared closer (by fans not hitters), Kong continued his torrid (or is that horrid) hitting. We are so much better this year than last.

I'd go with Ringo, what's the line? While we are on the sick subject, I use to participate in a death pool. Scoring was simple 100 less the persons age. Pick any 25 celebrities. We had a couple definitions on celebrity and you couldn't be famous because you were going to die, (death row inmates, etc.)
  10. Welcome to the board. Screww MLB and all the otehr ways. Join us for gamethreads. We'll have a couple people with TVs and they'll keep us informed.

I guess my opinion doesn't matter just yet because I can not vote, but I would vote for Bush in this election. And the reply from cwsox . . . Your opinion does count, very much. But consider that God did not allow you to be old enough to vote in this election for God's own reasons....
  12. Hell, I'll take our lineup over the Yankees, Red Sox, A's, Angels, Astros, Cubs, anyday of the week. No talent? Why we have what's his name at 2nd and what's his name at center, and what's his name will be leading off, and the thrilling competition for our 5th starter spot.
  13. Yeah how could they possibly think a commercial featuring a future HoF pitcher would be better than one featuring the Sox biggest off season aquisition - the nice new leather chair for JR. I'm sorry, Uribe couldn't be a spokesperson for Checker taxis. Maybe Zero? It's a Cubs town and after this season, we'll be lucky if we get coverage on page 14 of the sports section. It's a nightmare I tell you.
  14. Rest of the story
  15. Yeah, do we want players that won't help teammates commit adultry while on the road? Where is the team spirit in that? Willie dude if we loose some games because a starter can't release some tension with a crack whore on the road I'm gonna be pissed. . .

  17. dude but if you dont pay $500 for 7 games, Kenny Williams wont be able to pick up any players after the allstar break the responsibility of the Sox winning is completely based on fan support, not management or players My edit. You think this is bad, wait until they actually win something. The Bulls use to kiss my ass every year when I renewed. Then they drafted this guard from SC and soon it was ram another price increase. First they cut the discounts then price jumps each season. Then with the enw stadium my center court became off in a corner.

I'd be surprised if CW said only W flip flops, It is a family trait
  21. I don't think you will need an equation. If 1,000,000 are standing around and person one starts with $100, sends 20% to Washington and hands the rest to person #2 you will have $80. At the end of 1,000,000 exchanges, you are still dividing the same $100. If we begin to say that someone will pay more for something because they are keeping more of their earning, that seems inflationary. I am not claiming that decreased spending - and - decreased taxes might not have a better impact on the average American. But what I've seen is decreased taxes and increased spending. I keep hearing how Reagan only spent all that money because he needed to get things past a dem congress. The fact of the matter is, the money was borrowed and spent. That to me is a fraud.
