  1. Zach I was trying to remember the title. Another great hit from the 70s. I suggested Brandy because the song is so bad it makes me cry. I believe it was once picked as the worse hit of all time. Another great tear jerker, Mandy by Barely Manalow I can't listen to it anymore without hearing Steve Dahl's Oh Wally lyrics.
  2. Because Frank has always been a team first kind of player. Are we out of green ink around here? Frank Thomas said, "If this is what the team needs to improve, I'm all for it." Because Frank has always been a team first kind of player. Now doesn't that look better?
  3. and we're in the world series, it's all dream, it's all a dream
  4. By ANTONELLA LAZZERI POP babe Britney Spears performed a stiptease during a tour of New York clubs — and caused chaos. The singer danced at three night spots before tearing off items of clothing. rest of the story and photos at http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-20034...3482349,00.html
  5. It really is true that money, fame, power, and all the trappings can't assure happiness.
  6. Amazing. Of all the ways to apparently try to commit suicide (apparently) that is probably last on most people's list. I wonder what the rest of his story is.

Ketchup?? Ketchup to Nebraska? PA, you've never said, are you at A&M or is there another University in College Station?

    Looking at smileys

I was figuring it was for the Blue Jays, the Nordiques, or the best part of an Egg McMuffin
  9. Way back when, I was a dj in a box and did a few weddings. Someone asked me to play Lady in Red and I didn't give it a second glance. About half way through I see the mother-of-the-bride spitting fire and heading my way. (This will tell you how long ago this was) she yanked the record (vinyl) off the Technics 1200 turntable and flung it. Screaming that that was not an appropriate wedding song. I grabbed Celebration! and dropped that on as fast as possible

    hey guys

pull up a chair, there's always room at the table. First post in Sex, Lies, and Politics great way to start
  11. Ever since the NHL All-Star game at the old Stadium, during Gulf War 1, the Star Spangle banner chokes me up. I guess at that moment I became old and sentimental. Also in no particular order: In my Life Brandy Billy Don't be a Hero The Night Chicago Died

    I loved it

Come on in, the beer is in the fridge, pizzas coming, I know the party looks too manly but there are ladies coming
  13. 40-42 late injuries keep them out of the playoffs. Give me ping pong balls not 1st round defeats.
  14. If I had to make a prediction, I see a mid 40 win season and making the playoffs but not doing much. I'd rather finish the season with a couple ping pong balls and load up then get bounced the first round of the play offs. Does anyone remember the grand old days before the lottery? Man what a fix that was. Every team wouild try and keep a straight face when they announce they are going to let the kids see what they can do. In other words start tanking we're looking for X player in the draft.
  15. I love to see the newlt arrived Texans order Chicken Fried Steak and then be surprised there's beef in there. Now if I can figure out where the chicken has been hiding all those fingers . . .
  16. I was right there with you. I tuned in expecting to see a text book example of how to use green. I'm not worried about this Bulls season. It's a filler between championship runs. I'm hoping for another high draft pick, maybe even a lottery pick.
  17. It's after midnight, care to lock or delete this please Goodnight
  18. would you like a horror story or a peaceful story?
  19. You have two moderators for this forum who I presume have lives. The lesson here is moderators need to be here more often. If someone makes a libelous accusation it can't sit there for hours or days. How can you promise a tighter watch from just two people? Do you want this as the forum to report crimes and turn in criminals? And I'll state again, it's unfair to critize adult-youth exchanges if the youth aren't identified. I was only aware of one kid that posted here, not I'm finding out we have a lot of 14 and 15 year olds. I guess I can't tell and underaged :fyou from an adult :fyou Which brings me to another point. Perhaps to set the tone we could get rid of :fyou :finger :dips*** Sorry, I'll shut up. And once again and sincerely, thanks everyone who makes this site tick. If I didn't care I would just delete the bookmark and go . . .
  20. I hate these types of posts but I wanted to thank the few people who emailed me today. Your words were very kind. The reason I'm very sensitive to the type of attack that occured this weekend is because my favorite community service is as a Boy Scout leader. As you can probably guess, an attack like what CW went through would end that for me. Having a wife, kids, sterling reputation, and zero evidence would still be tossed away. It would break my heart beyond belief to lose that. I've made too many promises to boys who've had too many adults break promises to them. I'm worried as I write this that someone will twist this into something wrong. How sad is that? I'm afraid to admit I volunteer to work with teenage boys and they mean a lot to me. While the board was imploding, I was blissfully unaware on a campout on a peaceful lake. I've tried to always be respectful of everyone here and perhaps that's why I never was in their sites to be flamed. Viewing the vile attacks that went back and forth without anyone moderating was very disturbing. If the moderators won't pull those posts there is nothing they will pull. No matter who you are or how civilized you've been, they will not step in and that makes me sad. Perhaps I'm looking for more structure or at the minimum, people who understand the responsibilities of free speech. I was surprised to learn that several posters where underage here. Since we seem to be sensitive to communications between adults and youth, it seems like a smart idea to somehow identify who the youth are. I was a homesick Sox fan when I found this board, and now I'm a homesick soxtalk fan. If I won a big surf competition and hired Van Halen to play the party, I'd invite a lot of you on this board to the party. I hope it was van halen or that joke bombed

    Back from IAH

PA to College Station to finish school? While you were traveling that far you should have traveled a few more miles to Austin Hook em' Horns (not exact, but close)

    NOTICE......

Maybe they took a clue from KW and JR and waited too long to fire the problem. Then fired the hitting coach, as if he was to blame. All the while chasing a star player into early retirement. Watching people's lives and reputations twist in the wind as if no one had any responsibility isn't responsible. The internet is full of unmoderated forums and listerves for that type of behavior. If you are going to advertise moderators, then they have to moderate. I've been sickened a few too many times with some of the childish anticts that should have been dropped quickly. I don't know what standards others think a moderated forum should have, but I think questionable material shouldn't stay up for hours. I believe a moderated forum should be different than an unmoderated. I think posters should be judged on what they post here not anywhere else, including private messages. For that reason I believe the private messaging feature should be disabled. Add a chat room or rooms if you like. Much of the arguments were of the private message type that couldn;t be proven. How convienent. But as I posted elsewhere, it's their (owners) party and I respect that more than words can describe. Why anyone would want to sink their money, sweat, and tears into this to be repaid with headaches and heartaches is beyond me. I wouldn't have had half the patience as these guys do. Perhaps I'm too old. Perhaps they'll start a moderated forum for old people who appreciate communication with out name calling, libel, and threats.
  23. The way to "knock any Sox fans socks off" would have been a deal involving (in my probability order) Frank Maggs Konerko Mark Buerhle Bart Colon
