While I wore out the :fyou every time Billy Botch's name came up I don't buy for a minute he doesn't/didn't have an arm problem. Was/is it an injury or overwork? I don't know. I am guardidly (let's get a damn spell check?) optimistic for his 2004. Based on potential and past performance has the best chance of anyone on our 25 man roster to be a great stud closer. If not we have a bookend for Dibble. Did KW actually get

I'm worried about having a solid top 3. I expect Mark to rebound and have a 16-20 win season. I expect Cy-Lo to come back to earth and win 15. If Colon is signed I expect a 16-20 from him. After that I think 4 & 5 is open. Without Colon we have 3, 4, and 5 all up for grabs. At this point I wouldn't pen anyone into those roles.

The more Billy pitched this season the more pissed I was everytime I saw his goatee. By the 6 or 7th blown save I wanted to remove it with a chainsaw. He is my poster boy for this failed season. Abo, go for it, you can always shave later. What does your modeling agent say?
  4. Abo, was she talking about haloween?
  5. Ribbie, What consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes is ok. Go for it! If she'll put on the Rhubarb costum ~ even better In the classroom at the HS level, probably won't work. If they smell blood they'll be all over you. When you start to slip think JM and what it got him. Be consistant, be consistant, be consistant. I work with 11 to 18 year olds and if you waver and sometimes are lax and joking like a HS kid then come down like Miss Diseal you'll have problems. Give them praise when deserved. Find someone doing something right and sing to the heavens. Best of luck.

Triple Digits, you want triple digits. We call triple digits May, June, July, August, and part of September. Every day. 90, 100 days in a row. 90 and sunny here today. I love fall.
  7. Hmm, I see a Fairy Tale here. Miss PA with her long blond hair. Mr. PA in his shining armor. Come on you have to out do moonlight on a bridge on Riverwalk. You keep raising the romantic bar

  15. Trying to reach a decision using medical opinion would be difficult at best. Very good medical minds will have opinions wrapped 360 degrees around almost every case like this. IMNSHO it comes down to who should make the difficult decision. The government through the courts? The government through an appointed guardian? A panel of Doctors not involved with the case? The patient's Doctor? The spouse? The parents? The individual? My heirarchy of decision is in reverse order of above. I place the parental rights ahead of the spouses. I do not like the government getting involved through any means. It is probably very unfair and potentially dangerous for the attending Doctor to make the call. I'm close enough to the medical profession to tell you keeping a person alive is not a monitary decision. Sometimes where they die can be a statistical decision. Getting them out of the operating room and into recovery can help keep the surgical scorecard clean. There is some business in live and death. The vast number of medical professionals want to do what is right by the patient every time.

  17. The Sox always start the season on the road. That is a request by JR and it has been honored every year since he first made it. Do you know what the reasoning is behing his request? I know where I live, I've usually been wearing shorts for a month or so before opening day. Y'all have been wearing parkas leading up to opening day.

  21. I wasn't going to post this because I figure y'all will be too envious. Please pay attention to the bold reference. Texas, our Texas! All hail the mighty State! Texas, our Texas! So wonderful so great! Boldest and grandest, Withstanding ev'ry test; O Empire wide and glorious, You stand supremely blest. [Refrain] God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong, That you may grow in power and worth, Thro'out the ages long. Texas, O Texas! Your freeborn single star, Sends out its radiance to nations near and far. Emblem of freedom! It sets our hearts aglow, With thoughts of San Jacinto and glorious Alamo. [Refrain] Texas, dear Texas! From tyrant grip now free, Shines forth in splendor your star of destiny! Mother of heroes! We come your children true, Proclaiming our allegiance, our faith, our love for you. [Refrain] When the state flag is displayed during a performance of "Texas, Our Texas", all individuals present, except those in uniform, should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Individuals in uniform should salute at the first note of the song, and retain this position until the last note. Individuals who are wearing a headdress that is easily removeable should remove it with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, with the hand over the heart. Individuals who are not citizens of Texas should simply stand at attention. If the state flag is not displayed during a performance of the song, those present should face toward the music and act in the same manner as they would if the flag were displayed there. If both are to be performed, the state song is played after the national anthem.
  22. Dragnet became my favorite comedy when Nick started the reruns. We would watch it at Santos in Schaumburg and whenever you would get the head nod, we would all chug.
  23. As a husband and father of two I have a hard time with our custom of having the spouse decide. If she was to recover what would this guy do? Leave his girlfriend? Unfortunantly spouses come and go in this society but giving birth is forever. I'm supporting parents positions in these types of matters, no matter what their position is. I should also say if it was my decision, I would probably want to see her go peacefully. It's a shame that the option is starving her to death and not some sort of assisted death. I'm wondering how many of you that support the husband have kids? The courts will step in and allow visitation.
