  1. I think the Yankees where very happy to be playing the Twins and not the Sox.
  2. I'd like to see a better closer. One big problem, how many teams are lining up asking KW about Koch? He has zero trade value. Maggs will get you something but I'd rather hang on to Maggs than trust KW to get the right guy.

I was eating dinner in Reynosa, Taumalipas Mexico and they made a huge spectacle of bringing dinner to a couple sitting at a lavish head table. With great fan fare they unveiled the dish. Underneath the cover were two very large, almost round objects. I asked what the couple was having for dinner and my waiter replied in broken English that these were the testicles from the bull that was killed in the bullfight earlier in the day. I immediately asked if they had any more because my group would love to try them. The almost empty $100 bottle of tequilla may have fueled our desire. He explained to me that these needed to be ordered weeks or months in advance. We quickly set a date for 6 weeks out and eagerly awaited our feast. When the big day came I gathered many of my compadres and we headed back to the restaurant. Our big moment arrived and with great anticipation we sat there as a seven waiters and the mariachi band came to our table. As the violins and guitars played the waiter unveiled the dish. To my great dismay it reveiled only two small, shriveled balls. I asked him why ours was so small when last time they were grande and he replied Senior, sometimes it is the bull that wins!

I've spent some carefree days on a ranch castrating bulls. Amazing they will lose their nuts and never moo. Mustn't be any nerves there.
  6. Unfortunatly Maddux is no longer the best pitcher in baseball. I gotta go with the Cubs in this one. And remember, we hope they win today because it will make the eventual loss that much worse :fthecubs

60 degrees! Down here that would be a night time low. At 60 or so they start opening up the warming shelters and having coat drives for the poor.

Me? I'm shoveling sunshine and drinking margaritas outdoors. I love south Texas winters.
  9. Is this a new issue? I don't think the climate has changed over the last 1000 years or so. What did the old timers used to do about it? One possibility is the tightly built homes trapping in moisture. 100 years ago we didn't have air conditioning. Also indoor plumbing that drips, sweats, and leaks is a culprit as well. What happens is people begin it wheeze and sneeze and start looking into the walls and it becomes a problem. So the other issue could be a hightened sensitivity to mold.
  10. The mold issue is huge here in Texas. Insurance companies and attorneys have been battling it out. I know of three people who received checks for the full value of their homes because of mold damage. Some insurance companies have refused to write policies in Texas because of it. People have been moved out of their homes for months while the remiediators come in a rebuilt the walls, etc.

I believe I may have my funniest post of all time. Please check out my reply in "OUCH" and see if you agree. Damn I'm proud of myself.

Hmmm she's reaching for my balls She's starting to squeeze Oh s*** :puke
  13. I think Sandburg, Grace, and Sosa should go on tour and entertain the fans. Perhaps a new reality tv show. Lock the three up in a house and see who survives. Grace won't be in a Sox uniform except to piss off the ScRubs, which would be kind of fun. Think Mr. Banks would like a stint as honorary ambassador?

Fan 1 "When was the last MSU title?" Fan 2 "2000" Fan 1 "Honestly?" Fan 2 "Who cares how we won." Sorry, couldn't resist.
  15. Damn I wish we were b****ing about it. You don't think that Georgie suggsted an extra long version to ice the other pitcher do you? That wouldn't be nice.
  16. I know how could they make a splash and save money! Turn off the ice maker . . . Dollar Bill Worst :dips*** Pully :dips***
  17. I think it sucks, just like everything here. In fact that's why I hardly spend any time reading or posting
  18. Speaking of alchohol and first aid, remember if you get something nasty in your eye anything, anything, anything you can drink can be used to irrigate the eye.
  19. As much as I too like the name The Cell or The Padded Cell as the case may be, it reminds me of the corporate greed that has destroyed baseball. Cominsky's name should always have hung over the door. The only honorable substitute would be Veeck Field. As a name US Cellular Field sucks and I prefer no reminders. People need to get over it..It's quite ridicules to keep a grudge on the name change. The team needed money to help with the remodeling of the stadium cause if all the damn complaints on how sucky it is..Where do you think they were gonna get this money? Get over it...It's not they changed the name on the OLD Comiskey park.. And Mr. Comiskey was a cheapskate anyhow..that's why all his players hated him and why they were desaparte..hence the BlackSox scandal.. This guy wasn't a saint. I do agree that Veeck would have been an honorable substitute, but putting his name of the field ain't gonna bring in money to help pay for the park.. And if I had the choice of bringing in money to help make the park a better place for the fans or keeping the name of Comiskey park..Well..I pick having a better park for the fans and we can't go back and wish they had built a better ball park..blah, blah, blah It's too late for that.. It be nice to keep the name for the nostalgic of it and such...but that isn't gonna bring in money.. And it's just a name..people can still call it Comiskey if they want, Sox Park(like I do) and move on.. I've accepted it, I just don't have to like it or embrace it, or allow it to grow. With the exception of Minute Maid Park, I can't think of a worse corporate tie in. Using your theory shouldn't it have been named The Taxpayers of Illinois Field. I suppose you wouldn't mind having Motel 6 sponsor the team and plastering their names across the jerseys like a neighborhood softball team. It would help pay salaries.
  20. The beauty of this is all the f***ing Cub fans are probably thinking it's sooo cool. Of course we know the truth. Relax, let him get a few votes in the process. Would you rather have a northsider in the Mayor's office? It's a f***ing joke if anyone really thinks he's suddenly decides he likes the Cubs over Sox.
  21. I've had the pleasure to meet Ozzie on two occasions. Once on the street another time at a charity event. He impressed me both times. I would applaud.

Since we have several, very cool designers of sigs why not have a contest beginning in two weeks for the #1 Sig on soxtalk? This gives everyone a chance to put one together. We'll take nominations on October 17th and have voting for a couple days. Any suggestions for the rules? Size, topics, etc. Perhaps best Sox Best Gratuitous Sexy pic etc.
  23. Best Sox Park ever? Fenway
