  1. My point is that Tony isn't an aberration. This franchise has a 120 year tradition of fucking things up. In a historical context, he's exactly what this franchise does. Find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
  2. I'm looking over streaks of two or more and a lot of franchises (28) have managed that including the Mariners, Rockies, Nationals, Diamondbacks, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Major_League_Baseball_franchise_postseason_streaks#Postseason_appearance_streaks
  3. Thank you for the research. Are there franchises during that same time frame that did have back to back play off appearances?
  4. Fair point. Even better point if the manager was programming machines and not managing people.
  5. We have 70+ more years of futility.
  6. Why it's it that we can only have one problem at a time? There are a number of problems with the team, one is we have players, coaches, and managers relearning or learning their positions. We've had players, coaches, and managers fail at key times. Why give any of these guys a break? You score zero runs you aren't going to win games. You make poor decisions you're not going to win games. Multiple key players get hurt, your going to lose games. Plenty of blame to go around. This is why we're the worse franchise in baseball. No back to back playoff appearances. Lowest win percentage this century. Worst franchise in baseball. All we're arguing about is which of all the problems we have is the worst.
  7. Overall I wouldn't have held any AL manager responsible the first time it happened. It's a crazy, bad way to start extra innings to begin with and with very little data to back up strategy. But I get the if you give him a pass on one thing you must love him and if you dislike him you must jump on every mistake mentality. 100% for or against. I just don't follow it. I can dislike 85% of something someone does and not be too upset about 10% and even like 5%. It's a crazy mixed up shook up world.
  8. How do? I expected better and I'm not getting it. I also believed he was a bad hire for off field issues.
  9. It's shocking that a AL manager wouldn't know about a rule that involves a situation when your pitcher makes the last out in a tie game. I'm not a current TLR fan, but I'm not going to condemn him for this one. It's just one more reason baseball needs to make the DH universal or end these games. Having one set of rules for AL ballparks and another for NL is ridiculous.
  10. It was an innocent time back then. Carefree. Full of hope.
  11. Thanks for the tip. My daughter who is an alum isn’t a fan but I prefer the Chief.
  12. If you were trading with the Sox would you feel you were in a better position in February, April, or today?
  13. Great points. So do you think t will take going into the red or giving up prospects to sign a quality OFer at this point in the season?
  14. I question the worth of many YouTube content creators when YouTube changes their algorithms again and suddenly their views drop. Ryan's Toy at $250 million seems off even with the number of views. Fun channel btw I'm a fan. I've posted elsewhere about crypto and if it will act like a currency in trading or more like collectibles like art. Currently it's not be used as an actual currency as much as an investment vehicle. Not many people are converting government backed currencies to crypto to buy groceries. They treat it as a buy and hold.

I'm so old I doubt those were available lol
  16. What we disagree on is if taking on a bad contract is overpaying. I think it is.

Once I made traveling ball I always had two mitts going. A gamer and one I was breaking in.
  18. Teams know the situation the Sox are in. Supply and demand. A quality guy is worth more to the Sox than a team without a playoff chance. How much would you pay for a life preserver while sitting at your computer? How much would you pay in the middle of the Atlantic with hours until rescue?
  19. Any OFer of any value we could get at this point would involve serious overpayment.
  20. I think the early adopters(?) would have jumped regardless of when they were first allowed. Although I think there is a lot of merit to not valuing something that is free.

Ok. Moist, but not as tender as I would like. I had to finish it in the oven. The humidity was close to 100% and I couldn’t keep coals going.

How have I not heard of Nokona gloves until now? An ad on my favorite White Sox site popped up and after clicking I couldn’t believe they are made in the US. When I was playing my fielder’s glove was a Wilson A2000 and my catchers mitt was a Rawlings. I’m thinking it’s about time to buy my grandson and I matching gloves. Nothing better than breaking in a new glove.
  23. Moonstruck is one of my all time fav movies.
  24. Exactly. The half full view. A lifetime of Sox fandom and I’m a half empty kind of guy ??? ?️
