  1. I get it could have been worse, but it also could have been take two aspirin and plays tomorrow. I’m with you Dick, it’s not good news. At best it’s on the better end of bad news.
  2. The muscles that you use to lift your knee towards your chest are affected. Two weeks for a mild sprain, six weeks or more for severe.
  3. I believe it is everyone’s responsibility to help the team win with ultimately it stopping at the manager’s feet. If he can’t get everyone to pull together to win then he needs to be fired. That means to me that Gio has to tell someone other than the press after the game and Katz has to be asking and advising. If that isn’t happening we have the wrong manager.
  4. Does that help the team?
  5. That’s not what I’m saying. I even wrote the buck stops with him. But why ignore that players aren’t being honest? Read the last line again. He should be fired. Allow me to better explain that. It means he’s responsible and it’s his job and he’s failing at that. Does Gio hiding he’s gassed help the team?
  6. Gio told the press he was gassed going into the 7th. The press later told TLR what Gio said and Tony said that was the first he knew. To TLR’s eye Gio was looking good. Which based on the box score he was.

Six hours in and my ten pound brisket hit 170. I’m wrapping in pink butcher paper and putting it back on the smoker. My WSM is holding at 225. I’m hoping to pull the brisket off in about three hours and allow to rest for an hour or two in an ice chest. Traditionally I open my first beer at this point, but it’s feeling a bit too early.
  8. Or confused. It certainly seems like he forgot about the runner on second.
  9. Not from the post game interviews.
  10. Expecting him to do what’s best for the team isn’t reasonable? Okay. Then let’s go to second best option IMO. The pitching coach asks the pitcher how he is feeling. The team is batting and that seems like a good time for the pitching coach to be talking with the only player he has in the game. I thought this is a team sport with everyone trying to win ball games. Instead we have players not being truthful hurting the team in the process ( which we should expect). Coaches minding their own business. And the manager is suppose to make good decisions with bad data. Good thing baseball teams are monopolies because if they tried to run any other business that way they would lose their asses. And if this is how TLR is running his dugout he should be fired.
  11. I believe it’s a fair criticism that Katz has exactly one player to be looking at, someone he’s experienced with, and did nothing. Didn’t ask how’s he doing, basically did nothing but sit on his butt and do nothing. Gio knew he was gassed and did nothing. Grown ass men not helping the team to win, but looking out for themselves. Plenty of blame to go around without being a TLR apologist.
  12. Then never pitch hit?
  13. There are always folks lined up to share success. The line gets short when blame is getting passed out.
  14. A private school here just asked a family to move their student to a different school for refusing to wear a mask outdoors. So there are families looking for maskless options.

  16. I’m hoping they all got a great night’s sleep and wake up refreshed, healthy, and ready to have a great day. As 99.99% of Soxtalk posters do everyday. ?

Woke up at 5 am to put a brisket on my smoker. I was totally unprepared. I’m short post oak, didn’t have coarse ground pepper, didn’t run my temp probe through the gasket before firing up the heat, didn’t pay attention to my vents before going back to bed, didn’t trim the brisket, ugh. It will be a miracle if it turns out OK.
  18. Good point
  19. Probably closer to 50% ?
  20. And Tony gives up.
