Reason #1, the island should be quiet, not too many tourists this time of year.

Arizona Immigration Law
Second part of the report. Get this, corporations spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to belong to this organization, legistlators spend $50. The corporations spend $$$$ entertaining the legislators and their families at three conferences per year. One week for the kids they spent $138,000. The corporations write "model legislation" for the elected reps to take back with them. and this is amazing this is NOT considered lobbying and does not need to be disclosed what a bunch of bull s*** from our elected leaders. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...oryId=130891396 Of course I am certain there are dozens more just like ALEC and we'll find this s*** on both sides of the aisle. They pass laws against this and then open f***ing backdoors to circumvent. Make it look like they are doing something about ethics, then b.s. ing around it.

FlexSpending Changes for 2011
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) That makes absolute sense to me. I also agree with the "lose it" part being exactly why I have never signed up. Any money you don't spend is a 100% loss, versus whatever you would save on taxes. Unless you have significant and regular expenses, the plan doesn't make a lot of sense. I believe that is part of the rational for the program, it isn't for everyone. I have maintanance meds that I take every month, so calculating several hundred dollars is easy. The use it or lose it wasn't so much a bother as long as I could load up on OTC in December. I'd replenish my first aid kit, pick up some Advil or whatever, maybe some cold meds. Basically I added up a couple Doc visits, meds, annual physical, etc and put in a little less than that.

and this . . . Isn't it wonderful that private corporations, who stand to make billions, can write legistlation for us!

Flaxx Does Galapagos
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 12:01 PM) I did have a good sized bull male chase me away from his girlfriends a couple of days into the trip. I was told the big boys shouldn't be messed with during breeding season. That is cold, c-blocking a dude who only gets some once a year

FlexSpending Changes for 2011
They have taken steps in that area. If a vendor proves that 90% of their sales are in areas that are approved for FSA purchase, receipts are not required.

FlexSpending Changes for 2011
IIRC the flexspending plans were put in place to help with medical costs. The threshhold for deductions has been so high that most people never reached it. The paperwork has been zero for me with my plan. By using certain vendors (Walgreens, Walmart, a local medical supply company, my Doc) I have never needed to submit any documentation. Spending pre tax money is always better than taxed income. I wrote to my Senators, Congressman, and the White House. I'll share any responses. It will be from 2 ®s and 2 (D)s Finally, it's the slippery slope argument.
