Mark Buehrle Enjoys Hunting
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 26, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) You really think humans have sharp, pointy teeth like a wolf, lion, or other predators? Perhaps you can demonstrate for me how a human can run down a deer or other prey and sink your sharp, pointy teeth into their hide like other predators do. We use tools. Much like we have used tools to build our homes, transport ourselves, manage our waste products, etc. Which brings us full circle, Mark Buerhle likes to use tools to gather his food.

Mark Buehrle Enjoys Hunting
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 07:52 AM) I'd say we're the only species on the planet with brains developed to the point where we can question whether we're carnivores or herbivores, no? That may be one of the best, briefest, and most profound posts I have read here. I raise a piece of bacon to you

Concealed Weapons Proposal Up for Vote
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 08:22 PM) I have often slammed you for jumping many hundreds of steps further in your arguments than called for or feasible many times, But I kinda agree here. Your reply seemed about as fair as the statement you replied to.

Mark Buehrle Enjoys Hunting
I believe anyone who eats meat should harvest an animal and process it for consumption. The ethics should begin with a simple question, are humans naturally carnivores? I do not believe a lion, for example, is evil for eating a gazelle. Nor do I believe a domestic cat is evil for killing a mouse. Therefore, if humans are carnivores, and I believe we are, it cannot be called evil to kill a cow, pig, deer, chicken, goat, dove, etc. I certainly respect the position expressed by those on the list who are vegetarians and believe killing is wrong. However, I have a difficult time respecting those that tell me hunting is wrong while eating a bacon wrapped fillet mignon. Sadly, by the time we learn if our maker designed us to eat meat, it will be too late to tell those left behind.

Concealed Weapons Proposal Up for Vote
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 10:17 AM) You are truly the ultimate slippery slope guy. Seems like a fair response to getting rid of the state system.

Concealed Weapons Proposal Up for Vote
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 11:14 AM) I'm all about concealed carry but this is flagrantly taking a s*** on states' rights. If, for a relatively extreme example, I choose to live in a state with liberal laws that include more gun control measures, why should Texas or Arizona be able to override my state's laws? All my posts focused on this comment. Would establishing a nationwide standard be s***ting on state's rights? The example used by the sponsors of the bill was a driver's license. Therefor, does every state being forced to accept the driver's license from other states s*** on state's rights? I do not think so. Later It was posted that we should just get rid of the state system. I offered or get rid of the federal system. Both are equally silly solutions.

MARK BUEHRLE PITCHES THE 18TH PERFECT GAME IN HISTORY
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 04:40 PM) I love AJ's interview and the comcast line. AJ DID NOT CATCH BUEHRLE'S PERFECT GAME "Well this worked out great for me, I got to watch!!" - AJ.

MARK BUEHRLE PITCHES THE 18TH PERFECT GAME IN HISTORY
QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) Cooper was the home plate umpire for Buehrle's no hitter, and the home plate umpire for his perfect game. Creepy. Coop will fix 'em

MARK BUEHRLE PITCHES THE 18TH PERFECT GAME IN HISTORY
QUOTE (Linnwood @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 03:52 PM) Only thing separating Buehrle from being the only pitcher in MLB history with two perfect games is a walk of Sammy Sosa. He's still pitching

Has Javy figured it out?
QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 05:32 AM) Atlanta is 5.5 games out of first. We will see what happens if they are actually in contention down the stretch. Bingo! Using the careers of two pitchers that came through the Sox as examples: Colon sleeps through the spring and summer and starts kicking ass in big games, Javy spends the spring and summer racking up stats.

Black Jack McDowell on tonight's loss and closers
I am too lazy to look it up and back up this claim, but . . . Wasn't McDowell a much better first half pitcher than a tired end of season, playoff pitcher? But, he did practice what he is preaching, IIRC he led the league two or three times in CG, one season he had like 16 or some insane number.

Concealed Weapons Proposal Up for Vote
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 01:14 PM) It's always nice to compare apples to scientific calculators. The point I was trying to make is there are some things where there just has to be a national reciprocal agreement. As a society we are too mobile. Plus, would anyone really support a cash strapped state implementing a special driver's permit for visitors? That would be ridiculous. But in other things we do accept a state by state difference. We buy fishing and hunting licenses by state. So a blanket statement that a state can make laws for everything and not be forced to honor another states laws is unworkable and a detriment to the national picture. We are supposedly *united* states.
