  1. I will attend a few games at my local University.
  2. Set up trust funds for my kids. Set up my parents and a few other relatives and friends for the rest of their lives. Start a foundation. Buy 35 to 40 foot sailboat and spend a couple years on a circumnavigation with a close friend of mine. Settle down to read a lot of books.
  3. QUOTE (Drew @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 01:52 AM) Doesn't make it right, though. There was also a time when interracial marriages were not recognized. Agreed.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 04:21 AM) You also said McCain would win. You're becoming the Brent Lillibridge of political prognostication. Just trying to save the GOP
  5. Does BJ's Brewhouse count as a crappy pizza chain? Their deep dish is a very passable pie. No Lou's, but pretty damn good.
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 02:44 PM) MLB All-Star voting is still a joke, and the fans prove again that they have no business having a say in who gets to play. I think the game is for the fans, not the players, and I do not mind letting the fans pick the players. I really think of it as a fan favorites game. Based on that, I also agree that . . . QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 02:54 PM) I've always despised fan voting but even more so now that the game actually means something. You can't have it both ways imo, it's freakin stupid.
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 06:43 PM) Yeah, if you're standing and lose consciousness, contrary to popular belief you fall forward, not backward. In the northern hemisphere that is true. In the southern hemisphere, you fall backward.
  8. I think Palin is going to be a strong candidate for the GOP, I don't see anyone really challenging her. Plus, she seems to have rally united the party loyalists behind her.
  9. Dumb on my part, I had added my ex, she is now deleted.
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 11:34 AM) Ha! Even Tex notices. Lostfan has some awesome hunnies on his facebook. I'm like his token ugly friend.
  11. They may also be looking at his wife. She may have had more rage against him than her.
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 09:34 PM) I actually never had anybody ask me that. I had a couple of strippers offer to give me a private show once though. lol. Any of them on your facebook?
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 11:23 AM) So I am the only one who is going to hell because I started humming it? I have the next seat over . . .
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 12:58 PM) Hey man, you want to sit there on the tracks laughing in your SUV while the train approaches, go ahead. Fortunately, since the majority of Americans realize we're headed for disaster, the majority will support ongoing efforts to make your choices more expensive. We, the majority, feel it is OUR freedom to do that to you. And we don't feel badly about it. The post I was originally responding to and I will elaborate. Did I really need to mention that there are an infinite number of lifestyles between altruistic and s*** on society? The s*** on society folks are our murders, rapists, etc. The Mother Theresas of the world occupy the other end. In-between are the rest of us. Some are closer to one end of the spectrum, others are closer to the other. We all choose our path in life and what we value. One of the things I enjoy about this site are guys like SS who is so involved in his local schools, YMCA, etc. NSS and Middle of Somewhere adventures, all the coaches, we even have a Peace Corp alumni posting from time to time. I'd rather be known for what I gave away than what I kept.
  15. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 08:15 PM) So now I s*** on society?... that's nice. Did you see any of your posts quoted? I was just making an observation about people in general.Actually I have you on ignore, if someone hadn't of mentioned your rant, I would have missed it.
  16. OK, maybe not totally stupid, but I'd be sitting in a classroom, backpack at my feet, shorts, flip flops, t-shirt, and be asked "You taking this class? No I'm the professor, I just dress this way and sit here to see who the really sharp students are?
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 05:40 PM) Yeah. As long as they aren't organized crime affiliated and use cheap materials i.e. The Big Dig in Boston. Now were talking to purchasing managers who substitute
  18. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 11:14 PM) But at least you just ask if the board's down, not that you get unbanned. But what I really want to know is am I banned?
  19. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 07:52 PM) BILLY MAYS HERE I'm going to hell for this but
  20. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 06:28 PM) We had it open for a while because people stated what a wonderful tool it was and how it could help our business. Then we got complaint after complaint of employees goofing off. The people who were clamoring for it for the most part, were spending 90% of their time keeping their friends in the know and not doing their job. So we made a company decision to block it, and only allow it to those who demonstrate restraint and that will use it for business use. Smart way to go.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 06:34 PM) People are too stupid with great tools. It would slow down production to a crawl if people are on facebook playing mafia wars, growing lil green patches, poking people, sending bumper stickers, sharing photos, tagging photos, arranging photobooks, becoming a King with people, playing word games, sending "flair"........... and connecting to customers. Fax machines and the stupid jokes that got faxed everywhere eMail and the jokes that got emailed everywhere + spam IM for no reason Yep, they all should have been stopped, but they eventually became indispensable. If your salesperson is playing mafia wars with your biggest customer, does it strengthen or weaken the relationship? Cheaper than taking him for a round of golf, dinner, Sox game, etc.
  22. Some people make a contribution to society, others s*** on it. It all depends on the mark an individual wants to make.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 04:04 PM) You trust engineers to build giant, 110 story tall buildings but not to figure out how to put a small glass room on them. I do not trust engineers to build giant, 110 story buildings. I trust union construction workers to build 110 story buildings Speaking of engineers and giant buildings, here is one in my neighborhood. Oops. Someone f***ed up.
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 04:24 PM) Palin's successor, Lt. Gov. Parnell, would like you to know that Sarah Palin is the greatest gift Alaska has ever given the United States. Apparently Sarah Palin is better than the Alaska Pipeline, better than the greatest protected wildernesses on the planet, better than the Cold War security Alaska's presence provided the nation, and better than anything or anyone else to ever come from Alaska. So many things to say, I don't know where to begin. Was he able to deliver that line with a straight face? That comment is so straight.
