  3. My girlfriend thinks that having separate bachelor and bachelorette parties is stupid. She wants to have one big party for everyone and she's picking out the stripper, food, and drinks. I get to pick out the table decorations, color scheme, and party games. She also said she wants to snowball my best man. I said yes and she seemed surprised, I guess it's because the party is in June and there might not be any snow. My buddies think this is a really bad idea. I don't know what to do.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 11:47 PM) Yeah Chicago is the vast majority of what the state has population wise, and the suburbs are starting to lean further left in the last decade, but the rest of this state is VERY red. A race like governor is set up well for the GOP to get some power in this state, ESPECIALLY with the Blago fiasco. Obviously, the Ryan fiasco was bad too, but this almost looks worse in the sense Blago was caught while a sitting governor, plus it's fresh on people's minds. Back in the early eighties when I was taking a political science class in Illinois, the prevailing wisdom was that a Dem needed a huge turnout in Chicago with 80-90% of the votes, 50-50 in the collar counties, then hold on for dear life downstate as the farm folk kicked their ass. I wonder how much that has changed?

  7. HB Fuller supplies paint and glues, at least the division I am familiar with.

    QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 05:39 PM) False, I wanted to but my mom wouldn't let me. I thank her for that now. The person below has no idea what to get his wife for Christmas. False, the same thing I got her last year, a divorce! The person below me knows julio down by the school yard

    So I wrote a near perfect essay using Gacy as one of my two cases. Covered victimology, MO, different Psycho-social theories, etc. I kick ass in essays anyways, so in an Psychology class, I'm thinking easy A. I get home and check the book that the information was suppose to come out of. f***. Gacy wasn't covered in that book Mindhunter. Damn, s*** piss, mother f***er.
  11. I'm heading to jail for 30 days, any suggestions?
  12. QUOTE (False Alarm @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 09:26 AM) i'd never sell my post count.

    QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 11:50 AM) False, Nicolas Cage. To this day, I cannot believe that man won an Oscar and was nominated for another. The person below me is studying for a final. True, well I should be. The person below me was once lost in a department store
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 10:23 AM) I'm assuming its the latter - I doubt many pediatricians, who chose to treat children for a living, would refuse to take insurance if it covered the bills. There may be some, but, seems unlikely to me that most of them would do that. That is always the debate. $100,000 might get you Danks to pitch a game for you, $500,000 to have C.C. Both are "covering the bill" so to speak. So it becomes, if you are the Doctor and already working as many hours as you are comfortable with, a question of caring for that kid for $150 or this other kid for $65 and putting up with closer government scrutiny. Remember, other Doctors abused the system, not we want greater "controls" i.e. more aggravation for honest Doctors.
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 11:09 AM) I want to become more environmentally conscious. What should I do with the huge pile of tires I've been collecting and my vintage collection of mercury based thermometers? Dear Kathy-Lee Thanks for writing! There are starving kids in China who make toys out of those materials . . . So be inspired and start your own factory. Pay the neighborhood kids $.07 per toy. Donate all the profits, after paying yourself $$$$, to charity to avoid the liberal press ripping you apart.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 10:57 AM) I want a Senate seat. That will take SS's count
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 10:14 AM) RC fan? And I'd sell my post count for a cold, decent beer. I'll take that offer. See you in a week or so
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 10:20 AM) I haven't seen that yet, but it would be on the public record somewhere. So basically, after all this hulabaloo, it was in fact the company that were the bad guys (unless the conspiracy theory you mention has any truth to it). Even if it is a privately held company the loan details would be made public? I didn't think that would be the case. It is interesting that they found financing to buy another company when this industry would be facing such hard times, and that the other factory is running double shifts. Greedy owners trying to screw employees, who would have thought?
  19. QUOTE (Shamrock4Life @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 10:15 AM) Some conspiracy theories say that BofA was the bank that floated the loan for the purchase of the Iowa plant. Which would have given thema window of knowledge that the doors were being closed (pun intended)
  20. So it seems that maybe the company wasn't all that bad financially, just looking for a scapegoat to get out of an expensive labor market and into a cheaper one. Damn, why didn't they move to Mexico and help my area out? Seems that someone must have loaned them some money to buy the Iowa plant, or else they had a s*** load of cash on hand.

  23. Any chance that Dad was doing this behind Jr.'s back? From the limited time I've seen Jr. he does seem a lot different than his father. It wouldn't be easy, but I could be open to Dad's lust for power trying to be the puppet master for his son.
  24. A letter to Soxtalk My boyfriend wants to pretend to make a porn film. He has all the lights and a camera in his room. He promises there will not be any film in the camera. What should I do?
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 07:41 AM) So I am a guy who has policital asperations in his hometown. The economics teacher at my own high school has asked me to come in and give a talk the trading industry and on the banking crisis, but I don't want to bore the kids to death. What can I do to entertain the kids, and maybe help to make them vote for me in the future? Kids like to learn new things. Show them how big league baseball players from the Dominican toughen their hands! They will probably tell their parents and you will have them excited about your campaign as well.
