QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 09:50 PM) Never tried but I would probably be able to. I never knew they aired them. I'm only a little over an hour from Cedar Rapids, just across the river from Dubuque. It's new this year. I didn't think you were too far away so hopefully it works out for you. It's a standard def feed but it's better than nothing!

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 09:32 PM) Dont know but its annoying. I live 180 mi from the Cell so I cant get WCIU but Im still in market for the Sox so the games are blacked out on MLB.tv. Do you get any Eastern Iowa channels in Dickeyville? If so you should hook an antenna up and try and get KCRG 9.2 over the air. They have a deal with WGN to show all WCIU games on this channel or 9.3. You may be too far NE from Cedar Rapids but it's worth a shot.

This game is something else! I managed to incite a gang riot while chasing down a guy who mugged a woman. I tried shooting him and ended up setting off this huge shootout. I got in a car and bailed out ASAP. A few minutes after driving away there was breaking news on the radio about a major gang shootout with multiple fatalities.

Congrats to Mhizzle (Marcus) for making the Fan Cave

When are the round next cuts from the Cave? Did you have Thursday off completely, if so what did you do having a day in NYC to yourself? -
QUOTE (Jillian Michaels' Abs @ Apr 26, 2013 -> 02:51 PM) That guy doesn't need whiteout because that guy doesn't make mistakes. You know who else didn't make mistakes, Yaz!

Triggers that remind you of the White Sox

The smell of grilled onions, gets me every time! -
My brother took his 3 young boys to the Sox at Reds game last week and had a great all around experience. He had never been to spring training so has nothing to compare the trip to but said the people at the Goodyear facility couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. There were very few Sox fans there before the game so they had great luck with talking to Sox players and getting autographs. While the Sox were stretching a groundskeep walked by PK and let him know that there were kids wanting his autograph. He had the guy grab some stuff the boys wanted signed, signed it while he stretched and told the guy to tell the kids he'd come over when he was done. Sure enough when he finished up his stretches he came over and signed more items. The groundskeeper also did this on his own, my brother didn't ask him to go bother Paulie while he was working out. His boys ended up getting autographs from Wise, Flowers, Tekotte and Paulie. He said all 4 were great with his kids as they signed their baseballs but also chatted them up for a few minutes.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:32 PM) So I think my PS3 has the red light of death. Turned it on last night and it shut off. Every time I try turning it back on it sounds like it is starting up and then 2 seconds later I see a yellow light followed by an immediate shut down. Can't even get my game out. Has anyone experienced this? And is there anything I can do to fix it myself or attempt to salvage the data on the hard drive? Damn, that sucks. I had this happen about a year ago. There are plenty of videos on YouTube about how to fix it yourself if you are into DIY stuff. I debated fixing it or sending it back to Sony but ended up buying a slim with a bigger harddrive then what I had previously. You'll have to take it apart to get your game out and will need a hex wrench for that. Good luck.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 03:52 PM) I watched a video of Sox gameplay in MLB 13 the Show. Some notes. Robin Ventura exists Konerko is clean shaven (dislike) Viciedo is finally not obese They actually made Sale look skinny but not stretched/unrealistic Want to purchase... rising. They've made some nice additions from last years game. Something about 12 just felt boring and didn't keep me playing but so far 13 has taken me away from NBA 2k and NHL 13. Pitcher repertoires are much more accurate, 4 seam fastball isn't everyones #1 pitch. The new post season mode is extremely addictive while waiting for the full rosters to come out. The change in atmosphere is very noticable compared to a regular season or exhibition game. The hit variety is pretty impressive from bloopers falling just beyond the infield but before the outfielders, to line shots down the line bouncing around in the corner. Even routine infield ground outs seem to vary each time. I've yet to see a ball hit that didn't match up with where the pitch was at on my hitter. I've had jam shots pulled just over the left side of the infield and also balls hit off the end of the bat falling down the line for bloop singles.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 14, 2011 -> 05:28 AM) Man, I have missed Wimpy in the box with Hawk. Brings back old, great memories tonight. It seemed like Hawk was a different guy calling the game with Wimpy tonight. I am a big fan of Stoney but hearing Hawk and Wimpy together tonight felt so right. I'm really going to enjoy the next 2 games. Hopefully the team helps the cause with 2 more wins.

QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ May 14, 2011 -> 05:35 AM) Nice to have a bullpen! I think Hawk is starting to come out of his depression a bit. Nice to hear the Wimparoo! Yes it was nice to hear Wimpy. Memories of the 1990's all game long and they top it off with a win. Let's get 2 more and head back home!

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:29 AM) I don't have any color problems, but I want to choke my tv. Every time the Sox are on WGN, the crowd mics are louder than the announcers. I don't know if it's a local thing (Cox AZ) or if other peopl;e have the same problem. I didn't mind it so much when DJ was in the booth, but I don't like missing out on Stone or Wimpy. It is that way on DirectTv too. Very annoying.

Ranger can't be paid enough for dealing with callers after games like the last 2 nights. It's hard to listen to the show let alone engage these people in conversation.

QUOTE (Mattchoo @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) Ok, I'm as excited as anyone about Dayan. However, please people. Calm down on the over reaction. In my opinion, he is a better offensive Juan Uribe with less defense. If the Brewers called the Sox today and said we'll trade you Fielder for Dayan and two other of our top prospects, you do the deal in a heartbeat. Not holding my breath on that offer.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 05:13 AM) He's a 21 year old rookie - he'll improve many aspects of his game... His inclination to take a walk included. He's crushing the ball and getting on base. Lexi doesn't draw a lot of walks either but he's been pretty solid at the dish. Although 1 walk wouldn't be a bad thing...

QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 04:57 AM) Yeah, Jenks was clearly a bust down the stretch in '05. I wasn't trying to say that at all but he did have a blown save. If you have a chance to run 5 starters out with experience in a playoff run you do it. Pretty sure no one looked at Hudson's stuff and said it was filthy like they did of Jenks in 05.

QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 04:51 AM) Bobby Jenks says hi. Blown save in Game 2 says hi.

More Tank please!! He should start the rest of this series and then get some starts vs righties to see if he can keep it up. You have to like how he can sit for a full week with no ab's and then rip the cover off the ball when he gets a chance. He is a dangerous bat in back end of the lineup!

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 04:31 AM) 19-1 home winning streaks, Dayan Viciedo, Gordon Beckham, Lucas Harrell and Alexei Ramirez say hello. Seriously, nobody knows what will happen this post-season, the Yankees are favored along with the Red Sox every preseason and they've only won one World Series this decade. I like our pitching, defense, versatility and improved athleticism...it might be a case like 2003 and the Twins beat us again, but we're not going to lose to them in the traditional Sox way this year, that's for sure. We're taking a 7-0 run from the Twins, two blown saves on the road in 4 days, and we're still standing. This team, at least in my opinion, really believes they are a team of destiny after the way they turned that 24-33 start around. It's strange, it doesn't even seem totally strange that Lucas Harrell just won a start. Heck, Matt Ginter, Arnie Munoz, Mike Porzio, Josh Stewart or Jim Parque could win as a starter the way things are going. I won't go as far as to add Broadway and McCulloch to that list, however. Agreed. We're seeing some things this season that we've never seen before from the Sox. They were left for dead a little over a month ago, now they have a 1.5 lead in the division. They lost their #1 or #2 depending on how you look at it in Peavy but they keep winning. They are getting big plays from Omar and Andruw when everyone said they were 5-6 years past their prime. Outside of PK and Rios they have had big inconsistencies from pretty much everyone else, but again here we are with the Sox leading the AL Central. They may not win the division but so far this season has been unreal with the highs and lows. The same problems that they faced in April and May could resurface or this ride could continue right into October. All you have to do is make the final 4 then it's anyones ballgame.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:50 AM) Wow, you really think highly of getting Dunn then... or you don't have as big of a hard on for Viciedo as I do. =D Exactly! Please don't move Tank for a damn rental player. This guy screams big league hitter. And he hasn't looked over matched at the dish that I remember.

HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
CarlosMartinez replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
How sweet is the Stanley Cup Celebration?!? From the hand shake line to the victory lap with the Cup. Pretty awesome. Says something when non-fans or fans of other teams talk about it being pretty special and even emotional. I know I don't feel that way when I see someone other than the Bears win the Super Bowl or the Sox with the WS. -

QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 05:31 AM) I suddenly miss Big Jim....badly. Why? He's 0-4 with 2 k's. Kotsay may not be the answer but neither is Jim f'ing Thome. -
QUOTE (Cubano @ Sep 2, 2009 -> 02:16 AM) Who is the CF in Chi Sox history with more HR in a season? What CF has the most HR in his career? Thanks again, Cubano Rowand with 24 in 2004 I believe is the single season high. He started 118 games in center that year and 8 in right field.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 04:30 AM) I think we've flat-out quit. I don't think it's a lack of fire, i think our older guys are exhausted. Than they can be the first to go or get extended time on the bench. Let's see what our youth has to offer and maybe some of these last 30 games will be watchable. The worst part of 2007 was having to watch guys play every night who had no right playing in the MLB. Tomorrow can be the first day of the 2010 season, lets see what the kids can do and how they mesh with the veterans we are bringing back! -
QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Aug 29, 2009 -> 02:26 AM) Time to take this season out behind the barn and shoot it. I'll take myself out behind the barn and pull the trigger if I have to watch many more Jim Thome at bats with the Sox.
