Josh Donaldson called Tim Anderson "Jackie"
35thstreetswarm replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Wow, imagine Sox fans immediately taking Josh fucking Donaldson’s word for it in a skirmish with the face of the White Sox franchise. How weird. Must be a pretty powerful countervailing interest at work there. Wonder what that is… -
Hoping to see the full available White Sox lineup, and a W, in this one. Let's get going.

Flying in for a couple games, need info
35thstreetswarm replied to Ozzie for Manager's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If you only have one day you will probably want to hit the tourist areas from Millennium Park up Michigan Avenue through the Magnificent Mile and into River North, where you will probably also be staying. Maybe Lincoln Park Zoo (which is free) and/or one or more of the Museum Campus museums if that's your thing. You can fill a very fun day that way. As far as game day, I'd echo the Skylark and Marz recommendations above (also Bernice's) and also suggest hitting Kimski/Maria's Packaged Goods after the game for some grub and good vibes. -

Funny thing is the crime rate and murder rate are probably lower than when your younger self lived and partied here. But whatever, it's the well-worn and self-assuring mantra of generations of suburban pioneers moving into middle age. Nothing new under the sun. -

Good parody. There are probably real people who actually say things like this! -

Ok, so back to the topic at hand…we’re agreed that regular season record against good teams is far from determinative? I’ll stick with the original goalpost if you don’t mind. -

To continue the Braves comparison, the WS champs were 31-37 against teams with a winning record. -

They’ve played together a total of two times. They’re 2-0 in those games. So, yes? Anyway, my point was that we need to start grooving by optimizing our lineup more than occasionally. I don’t wish to be drawn into your performance. -

Yes, you say things like that a lot. -

I don’t know if the Sox offense will get good. I know the Sox lineup without Moncada, Eloy or Vaughn is not good. I just don’t understand how we keep running these lineups out there when we need to get into some kind of rhythm. -
Great win. Hoping that's the turning point for Kelly.

I don't think you understand the definition of the term "troll."

Right, we got it. You can go ahead and just say "I predict the White Sox will lose every series this season" and save yourself a lot of time. -
I know certain posters get a lot of rope around here because of shared history or whatever reason. But I think it’s genuinely unfortunate and counterproductive that so much of the commentary on the site is driven by trolls.

Yes, Kelly made the pitch he needed to make there. I'm not worried about him yet despite the walks -- it's early. But there's no reason we should've come out of that inning any worse than down 1 run (and really should've been tied). -

I would, too, if I had a time machine set to 2019. But I'm afraid we would be selling very low on him if we traded him now. That said, if we could get a legit rotation piece or more athletic everyday player for him I'd be all for it.

We had something to do with that, shutting them down for three games in their home park. Hopefully we can cool the Yankees down. Look forward to seeing what happens (Option A: Sox prove they can't hang with the big boys; Option B: Sox get lucky and "catch" the Yankees at the beginning of a cold streak) -
Just let me see the full lineup for a little while for god’s sake. It’s happened so rarely over the past two seasons.

Me too. Also the announcers. Also the reviewers, and also the ump -
Come on, it's a SSS issue. There's no magical quality possessed by AL Central teams -- we just happened to have played our worst in the small number of series we've played against them prior to early May 2022. We'll see how it shakes out over a whole season.
