  1. Eloy, Colson ++ and we’re on.
  2. I'd be good with that. This is our window, for better or worse, so we should go for it if the right "big" move is there. I'm not in favor of swinging light, though. I don't want to keep giving up long term pieces for things we don't really need, or for lateral moves. I'd put a Happ trade more in the second category than the first. I wouldn't be shocked to see an improved Pollock put up numbers comparable to Happ without giving up a thing.
  3. Ha! If that’s the price I can’t imagine any team trading for him.
  4. Jealous—it must be fun to see us beat the Twins amongst those weird-ass fans of theirs.
  5. Chris Sale in decline won’t be pretty. Glad we are out of the blast radius.
  6. I'm hoping for 7 and will settle for nothing less.
  7. I think the construction of Little Rosemont around the stadium really detracted from the whole fan experience for a lot of out of towners in search of a quirky, historical baseball anachronism. Nobody would’ve described Wrigley as “stock standard” 15 years ago. Now I can kind of see it.
  8. One of my least favorite “good” Sox players ever.
  9. The July 2021 Braves were no match for the juggernaut Dodgers, either. Nor the magical Giants.
  10. I agree. Every time I hear his call if the magical FOD walk-off I cringe. He sounds like one of my kids whining for ice cream
  11. This is quite literally what I’ve been waiting for. We’ve got close to our full team now. No excuses—let’s go on a run.
  12. Exacerbated. “Exasperated” is what I am when you keep writing “exasperated” when you mean “exacerbated.” Thank you, carry on.
  13. To me his effort suggested he may be following organizational guidance that he should not sprint for the wall or otherwise go all-out on tough plays deep in the outfield.
  14. I think this is it. And it affected Engel, too, effectively forcing him to run when he normally wouldn’t. I think seeing Moncada barreling toward him probably injected just a bit of additional doubt into Engel that led to the strange outcome.
  15. Trying to make myself forget the embarrassment of the 7th inning and remember that we had a very impressive sweep in SF, followed by a game that really should have been their fourth win in a row. Hopefully we look back in two days saying “well, two out of three and we really should’ve swept them.” Start fresh tonight.
  16. Single digit gamethread page count? Something may be happening here…
  17. To the contrary, watching the Sox shut the Yankees offense down by sweeping a DH in Yankee Stadium made me realize the Yanks simply can’t play with the White Sox….no wait, I meant to say neither one matters bc basing playoff predictions on any one day of the first half of the regular season is fucking idiotic, sorry got mixed up
  18. On behalf of the 20% of the board that wants you to be right…LFG.
  19. Just realizing that I'm so conditioned to expect and accept injury that I find myself almost grateful when the inevitable injury is not to a star. Like: "that's nothing, Robert could've broken his neck..." That said, feel horrible for Mendick and hope it looked worse than it is.
  20. Fine with this, and I say that as a frequent critic of TLR's lineups. TA clearly needed a day, half our lineup is injured/unavailable. The only one who could be there to upgrade is Pollock but I imagine he needs a day too.
  21. Hahahahahaha suck it, Soxtalk
  22. Definitely a marked improvement over last year's series in Houston, where we got absolutely blown out. Could easily have won this series. We've played a lot better against good teams than we did last year despite the worse overall record. It was the failure to hang in with good teams that folks around here elevated in importance over all other factors last year. I guess by that measure we've improved.
  23. Feeling pretty good about my trajectory! Paragraph 2 arriving in T-minus 20 days.
