GT 6/27 G2: Mariners @ SOX
So we got through another part of our inevitable slump while gaining in the division? Cool

Will We Ever See the Full Impact of Jimenez and Robert ?
Yeah, imagining worst case outcomes for core players tends to be sad. Let me help—imagine they both come back and turn into the franchise players they could easily be. Yay!

He does have an unnaturally robust waddle

Possible City Connect sighting tonight?

Almost did out of a mix of cheapness and morbid curiosity, but ultimately moved over to 3b line.

Weather looking good enough that I pulled the trigger for the whole fam. Based on recent reports looking forward to showing my kids their first Sox game fan brawl!

The Jarred Kelenic Appreciation Thread
Yeah the camera work's not exactly top notch down on the minor league circuit.

Internal Hitting Options (Split from Escobar thread)
Yes, this is the whole point. With Vaughn you have the realistic chance for dramatic improvement that will pay off as the season wears on. On the other hand, you know what you're getting with his current below-replacement-level replacements, and it ain't good.

Cubs 2021
He signed autographs outside his house for hours after the World Series. He also drove the WS MVP Camaro back to his pad and let the neighborhood kids sit inside. Met him teaching his daughter to ride a bike. Extremely nice and down to earth guy and it's sad to see that he seems to have been abused by his wife and this clown.

Haha good one. Zobrist.

Cubs 2021
This is really sad. He's my (now former) neighbor and was by all accounts a very good dude.

Hahn: Too early to know if Sox will be buyers
I didn't know anyone felt so passionately about Pittsburgh one way or the other ?

Hahn: Too early to know if Sox will be buyers
Chris Sale was "relegated to the bullpen" at this stage of his career, too. Was he a core piece?

Is it time to rebuild the rebuild?
You have been completely exposed and embarrassed.

Cubs 2021
I have also noticed — would have expected this surprising first-place run to set Cubdom on fire more than it has seemed to. I think the fan base still senses things are headed in the wrong direction and is waiting for the other shoe to drop on this season.

How many lines does Beckham do between innings? Jesus

Looks like you can - he just said it and nobody commented but you. I can say it too: Mercedes sucks right now. It's not a secret

Hahn: Too early to know if Sox will be buyers
Agreed. I'd prioritize a RF over a 2b, though, as that will be a need even if/when all our players return from injury. I'm also a Mendick believer, and don't think the drop-off from Madrigal will be all that dramatic. That said, if a great 2b opportunity presents itself go for it.

White sox winner!!!!!
Love beating the “good teams” with a bad version of ours. And despite the blown lead the news wasn’t even all bad on the bullpen. Bummer looked fine—got burned by the error and prob shouldn’t have come out at all. Marshall had a gutsy bounce back inning. Burr looked great. Even Heuer bounced back and threw some nice pitches after the HR.

6/16 Rays @ Sox, 1:10 CT
Soooo, we can beat the good teams? Actually, the worst version of our team can beat the good teams. Actually, the worst version of our team can overcome a key error and bullpen implosion and STILL beat the good teams.

Nice bounceback, Heuer

Sorry, if they lost to us they no longer qualify as a good team. Give me a time machine and a sweep against the May 2021 Yankees, then we're talking

100% Capacity Starting 6/25
That's too bad -- I took kids and sat in left for a couple games and it was fine, though one was a day game.
