I've heard from a few sources that Bochy (my top choice by a mile over cheater Hinch and [insert criticism] TLR] was #2.

Bernstein is absolutely lambasting LaRussa on the Score right now; talking about our "issue" getting national run now, and being the buzz of the baseball world. I was one of those who was resigned to LaRussa (though he was far from my first choice) and excited that he would at least be an improvement over Ricky. I've officially flipped. And the worst part about it, as Bernstein pointed out, is that there's no recourse. It's depressing. I just hope the negativity surrounding this legitimately bad situation doesn't completely derail this still-promising team.

You’re taking this all way too seriously. I made a quick off-the -cuff joke that anyone laughing at a post saying “I’m sad that Luis Robert is seriously injured” is a sociopath. I’m really not interested in getting into an extended dialogue about the laugh emoji as a general matter, or feeding anyone’s agenda about their posts getting laughed at too much. Moving on.

Maybe because the best pitcher in baseball was pitching? Jesus

Whoa. Wouldn’t it be something if he’s something.

For the record I predicted the Tuesday loss in the game thread ?

OK, fine: mini-Sox 150, Indians 0. Everybody hits 1.000 for the rest of the season (anything less is conceding defeat in some of our at-bats before the even happen: loser mentality.) Now let my attitude be the shining beacon that leads the team to the promised land!

Yeah despite my general pessimism for the outcome I don't think that's a good look against a division opponent. It's also not like we're Western Illinois facing Ohio State, we could very well win. I think we load up the lineup and take our best shot.

Yep, I was there! Every once in awhile Bieber poops himself---let's hope it's tonight.

Grow up. First, I'm not playing the game, my "attitude" doesn't matter, and neither does yours. Second, it's a 162-game season. We'll lose dozens of games even under the best of circumstances. I hope we win, but this is a bad pitching matchup and one of those games where a loss would not be a huge deal -- which is certainly a healthier and more realistic "attitude" than whining and crying after every loss like most in the game threads. Third, it's "worst."

I think Leury has gotten unfairly lumped in with the Nick Williamses and Lambs in the (justified) chorus of lineup complaints -- he's a great super-sub. Everybody seemed to agree on that last year but fans are fickle. We're lucky to have such a solid player with such versatility, especially with the injuries we've had.

Expecting a loss and readying myself to be fine with it.

One of the most exciting thing about this team are all the potential "windfall" type contributors we seem to have. I feel like teams that go deep often have at least one player who comes out of nowhere to dominate, fill a huge hole, and push the team over the top. 2005 had Contreras and Jenks (really even more than that). The Cubs had Arrietta and Schwarber at the end. There are guys lined up to fill that role for us: Mercedes, Rodon, Kopech -- even Cease, Vaughn to some extent.

Wow, again?
