Chris Sale is now the CLOSER?!/Until he's not (Update)
Mind blown. This won't sink in for a few days still, I can deal with losing but this was something good that we could look forward to in the near and far future. Ugh.

Job Hunt Thread
Shack, first off congrats on the job offers! Second, what are the opportunities offered at this other company? Does the future look better there than where you currently are? I know you're on a huge Compliance project, and that could really be a project you can shine on. Would your current company be able to match or beat the new companies opportunities? If not, and your salary is increased that much (plus it sounds like you have some good connections already there), than I would say go for it as long as you are comfortable putting your house up and stuff like that.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 1, 2012 -> 03:11 PM) "Then, Boom! He rips out the guy's esophagus. Then that guy's gonna die of course, cause you can't eat without an esophagus" Andy is such a great character because even though he has such direct, easy to understand humor, he says some small things that just slay me as long as you pay attention.

Get drunk in 2K12
Barcrawl for seniors graduating, ended the night with paramedics and cops checking out a friend as we had to carry her home. Besides that, drunken fun.

So, just finished the third GOT book, do I read the 4th or is it really that bad and I should just find a synopsis and go on to the 5th?

2012 TV Thread
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 1, 2012 -> 02:02 PM) OMG, no. No, no, no. The last episode was the worst episode since the very beginning of the series and damn near unwatchable. It was The Office after Jim and Pam got married and the whole show centered around Michael doing something stupid (1000 times over). There wasn't a single funny part - not moronic Paul Rudd (I get this is fiction, but they can't very well start off with him saying how much he wants to win the election to prove to his father that he's not worthless, and then have him ignore basic social rules like telling Leslie she really knocked it out of the park with her speech in front of the entire audience), not Andy using physical comedy for the millionth time (again, the whole idea of no money Andy/April hosting a "high dollar" donor party was dumb...if Leslie was such a meticulous planner why on earth would that happen?), not Ron doing something manly (without any funny lines in the process...the one above was ok, but nothing great. I liked the cone of meat quote from last week more), and not Ann/Chris talking for the 50th time about how they should maybe get back together. It sucks, because I love this show, but it's fallen into a rut and unless they change up something big time - like new characters - this show is lost. I don't watch it, but everyone tells me that Community is great because it doesn't stick to the typical routine. It innovates and changes to bring a fresh perspective while still being funny. This exact episode of Parks and Rec has been done about 15 times already. Meh, Parks and Rec to me is still hilarious, yea not quite up to its standards but still slays me. I gave up on Community as it was becoming too extreme in terms of its characters. Still funny but it was turning into the Always Sunny style of becoming too unbelievable (though I love that show still).

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 03:06 PM) The last 40% of Storm of Swords is non-stop awesome. When I was where you were at, I had the same feeling: "This is good, but why does everyone say this one is the best?" Then BOOM. Yea Im finally seeing that this book could explode into epicness as Im at the part where Robb is figuring out his plan to take back the North. Much more action is definitely coming.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) Finished Storm of Swords and am about 200 pages into Feast for Crows. I see what some of you meant about it not being as easy a read. I think maybe since some of the more interesting characters are shelved for a while. And I've noticed chapter lengths are longer. I've enjoyed it so far though, interested in seeing how things tie together and the Iron Islands and Dorne storylines interest me. The Sand Snakes seem intriguing. Im over halfway done with Storm of Swords, I find myself taking more breaks than the last two books. The chapter lengths may be the reason, but I think it's just more dry and not as fast paced as the last two. Also, following some characters just becomes redundant: -Sam: Im scared but Im cant be, wait I wet myself -Jaime: Cersei, Cersei, Brienne youre a wench, Cersei, Cersei -Catelyn: I need to be stronger, i want to cry, I push my family away, I shouldn't do that, Push them away farther And Sansa is one of the most frustratingly hard characters to read about/read from her perspective.
