1-0 Oakland (Stewart gave up a homer to someone - sorry I didn't note the name of the hitter)
-
I care!!! Please do give updates/play-by-play!
-
In the post, they said it had been 7 days since he last pitched. This is all hear-say (until something official comes out of course), so I don't want to start any panics, just trying to gather info!

There was a post on another site say that DW's elbow is still swollen. Does anyone know anything about this? If this is true, how could the doctor say a little while ago that it was okay - if it was that swollen how did they do an X-Ray or MRI?
-
As much as I am hoping he is back in form and that this is a sign of things to come (if he is, this offensive will rock!!! ), let's keep in mind this was one game and a ST one at that.

A Letter to All Visitors of SoxNet/Soxtalk
Queen Prawn replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Will you two still be "in charge" of this board, or will that change hands? Will the "open" atmosphere that we have here need to be toned down since it will be on national sites? -
LMAO! Where did you find that or did you write it yourself?
-
I can really get used to these1-2-3 innings by our pitchers!
-
I appreciate it because I can only look in for a score while at work...
-
Hmmm...Daubach (LF) means he's in Left Field, heh...guess you overlooked it. Yeah, i did - (note the edit) - I am at work and have only been skimming the posts...
-
What position is Daubach playing if PK is DH and FT is 1B? Is he in left? LOL...just noticed it in the post...yeah I can read...

How long does it take for a player to be called up from AAA to the majors? A matter of what, 6-8 hours? So I don't know why Graffanino would have to catch at all (unless both catchers got hurt at the same time). If either Miguel or Sandy got hurt mid-game, Paul would be immediately called up, and since he will have been playing everyday at AAA, he will be more than ready to step in and back-up for as long as necessary. If Paul doesn't clear waivers (that's the time frame I am referring to mostly), who could we call from AAA?
-
If anything is more stupid and distracting than a "closer-by-committee" situation, it would have to be a "catcher-by-committee" situation. Watching the Sox flip-flop closers last season was bad enough. Watching them flip-flop catchers in 2003 would make me vomit. Also, do you think Garland, Wright, and possibly Rauch or Stewart want to throw to PK or Graffy? The only thing they want to throw to those guys are DP attempts -- not pitches. Young guys need constancy, and playing musical catchers would be a horrible idea. Stick with Olivo and Sandy, and ship Paul down to AAA. Plain and simple. Um, that's kinda what I said - send Paul down and if Alomar goes on the DL, have graff backup Olivo until someone else can be brought up or signed/traded for...
-
I noticed that someone mentioned about PK catching (as he did until he hit the Dodger's minor league system when his hip problem was found)...he's said that he would never catch again, not because he's a prick or something but because of the pain from catching. Someone also mentiion about Graff catching - didn't he do some emergency catching for us last year? If so, maybe he can double as a back up for when alomar goes down until they can trade/sign or if Josh Paul makes it through waivers, they get him back up here. It's a clumsy solution to this puzzle, but I don't think there is a clear answer to it.

At last check it was 4-2 sox. It's killing me not knowing what's going on, who's in the lineup and who is doing what.

I should have typed the management rather than team. My error! Sorry!!! I read a quote from KW saying otherwise. Within a few weeks of that one, I read one by JM saying he thought Crede should have went. Wish I could tell you where I read it, but being that was back in November or December, I really couldn't tell ya.
-
If you are worried about Crede, then you need to be worried about Thomas. Crede is 0fer and Thomas is 2-13. Personally, I am not worried about either yet, but Crede should have played winter ball (I read that he didn't and the team wasn't happy about it).

I'm not concerned yet. Buehrle and Wright had terrible spring trainings last year and we know what Buerhle did and Wright had a nice year for himself as well. He does have some things to work on (consistantcy being the first thing), but I am definitely not worried yet. Gary has proved to be great in relief (look at his pure relief numbers). People are just remembering his illfated attempt at being a starter and are letting that color their opinion of him as a relief pitcher.

This is the exact reason when I put the TV on, it generally goes to the Discovery Channel, the Learning Channel, the History Channel or the Food Channel (this is actually kinda fun!). I had a great combo going last Sunday morning - I was watching a show about Cannibalism on the Learning Channel and Martha Stewart's Kitchen (or whatever it's called) on the Food channel. It was rather entertaining going back and forth between the two. Food Channel has this show called "Unwrapped" and it shows you how food that we eat every day was thought up and how it is made in factories or kitchens. I watched a program on "The sinking of the Bismark" on Discovery last night - it was something else seeing that ship appear out of the darkness and seeing footage of the battle that sunk it.

I, too, was diagnosed with chronic depression and anxiety. I opted not to take prescription drugs because of the trend of addiction in my my family. I take herbal supplements and have learned other techniques in helping to deal with it when it starts getting bad. If you ever need to vent/talk feel free to email.

Bonds may be an ass, but I hope he can be a supportive, loving son for his father's sake.
-
Cal is somethin' else. I wish him the best and I hope he makes the bigs - I would love to see him pitch again.
-
I couldn't care less about any level of basketball...boring as hell.
-
A.) He ended up with a better record that Garland...what does this say about Garland? B.) This is the first time Olivo caught him And most importantly... IT'S SPRING TRAINING IN ARIZONA - MOST PITCHERS WILL SUCK! Didn't the team suck last ST as well in terms of pitching and then went on to start well ...and then sucked...

He's overrated by Sox fans. He's barely in the top 1/2 of first basemen in baseball. I think you are confusing overrated with popular. Two totally different things...
