While putting myself through college, I was working as a cashier and then the customer service desk where we would take bills, do money orders, lottery, etc. Every other Saturday there was an older woman who would come in with change for a money order for between $80-$100. I was the only one she'd go to because she said the others would always screw up (generally on purpose). It never bothered me much because it took plenty of time - anything to eat time while working that mundane job.

That's the exact question I have been asking myself of late...

If we had a real second baseman, I don't think Willie would have had a chance in hell of making the team. They had already decided Jiminez is the second baseman and we have Graff as the backup infielder. Where would we have put him?

MOTHERF*CKING B*TCHASS DIPSHIT PASSIONLESS SOX!!!!
Queen Prawn replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
By all appearances, He's been nowhere near the Sox this season. We'll have to blame this on someone else. -
Has anyone here who pays attention to NASCAR (or might have heard something on a sports channel of some sort) hear any updates on Jerry? It sounds pretty bad, but hopefully it isn't as bad as NASCAR is making it to be. It makes me really nervous though that after cutting him out of his car, he was making no obvious movement. Last word is that he is in critical condition after being flown to the local hospital. I guess they are waiting for his wife to arrive at the hospital before releasing any information (she was at her grandfather's funeral in South Carolina and NASCAR sent a plane to get her to the hospital).

So he can serve his six month ban when they aren't even playing? That's really lame. I think it should start the first game of the season, but that's just my opinion.

Ramirez, Sheffield, Chipper, Helton, Griffey just entered their prime at that age and Sosa, Lois Gonzalez, Edgar, Giambi, Sosa, Walker, Thome and Bonds were even older when they became what they are now. 26 ain't s***. Don't disagree. I just like pointing out his birthyear (same as Konerko's birthyear! ) Now, if we can get them to pull their heads' out of their arses things will be even better on the southside!!!!
-
FYI - Carlos will be 27 in June (he was born in a great year - 1976!!!! ).
-
As much as they are pissing me off right now, I am not too terribly worried about Thomas, Maggs, Konerko or Lee yet. In any sense, KONERKO GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOU BEHIND BEFORE ALL OF THE CARDS I HAVE COLLECTED DEPRECIATE SO MUCH I HAVE TO PAY SOMEONE TO TAKE THEM OFF OF MY HANDS!!!!! Sorry, just had to get that off my chest!!!!

I would hope that their minds aren't that weak that they can't understand that it isn't them it's their boss. I asked my co-worker who was a Korean war vet and he said he is against this war, but totally supports the troops. My mom knows several Vietnam vets and one Gulf war vet and she said they are all vehemently against this war, but they are praying for the safe return of the troops. I am not saying they are the majority opinion or anything like that, but you said to talk to Vietnam Vets and well, that's what they said.

I am not asking why you support/don't support war in Iraq, but why so much hostility against people utilizing their constitutional right to protest? Why so much hostility towards someone with which you disagree? So many people seem to confuse supporting troops and supporting war. They are two different animals. My brother has 4 friends over there - kids that I watched grow up and I support them in the fullest and pray they come home to their families, but I do not support this war. Now I know I will get flamed for expressing my opinion, but I also know I would not flame anyone else for expressing their opinion. That is what I don't understand - a country that is for freedom of all forms is so intolerant to each other's freedom to have an opposing opinion. Rather hypocrytical, don't you think? I am not looking to start a fight of any kind, but I am trying to understand the intolerance - coming from those who support the war and those that don't - I am seeing all over the place, not just here.
-
The problem is with who is raising them, not the kids themselves. In certain areas of the US things are not all that different here, we just choose to hate and shoot at each other (I lived in one of those neighborhoods until the age of 16). Sorry, but I can't hate kids for being the way they are, their parents and guardians, hell yes. As an aside not all of them are like that. there was an Iraque family that my mom knew well and they were just as American as you and I. Their marriage was arranged there and they moved to America. She did her hair, wore makeup and wore American made clothing. Her kids were as sweet as sugar and very well behaved. I know this might be the exception to the rule. All I am saying is that while there are a majority that absolutely hate us, there are families in there that don't are doing anything to stay alive.
-
I second that emotion. I also pray for the safe return of my brother's friends. I watched these kids grow up from the age of ten. I still see them as kids, I can't help it. I want them to come home safe to live out their lives and for one of them, to watch their child(ren) grow up and live their lives. God Bless the troops.

Niiiiiiiiiiice.... It would be funny except it's not the engine that dictates which way a car is going to go... Anyways, NASCAR isn't for everyone, but it's something else to watch one of the cars demolish a few others - that Ryan Newman crash in Daytona was something else and he walked away without even a scratch.

First - they do turn right - watch one of the several road races they do each year (one is at Sears Point - they just changed the name of the track, so I am not sure if I got the track name correct or not).. HSC - how does Jeff bring his trouble on himself and what did he do that has you against him? I hate Dale Jarrert :fyou as a racer because the guy will wreck himself and someone else just to keep them from passing him - he did this to jeff and a couple others last year. The only thing "cool" about DJ are the UPS commericals, especially the one with Jackie Stewart because they are so silly. My problem with Jeff is he is too docile and too much a company man - get pissed once in awhile like Tony Stewart and let the fans know you want your crew to quit being numb-nuts and you want Roush to fix the engine problem or you will look elsewhere.

They b**** about anything from sports to funding (which the get most of out of all state schools - several classes I tried taking were eliminated because the funding for the teachers for those classes when to UIUC - yes, that is exactly what administration (as in the Dean of the department I attended)) told me when I emailed them. I am talking from within the state school system not the media, I could not give two s***s what is said in the media. It's what goes on within the school system that I am talking about.

Why is it that the Illini (school and their sports teams) whine and b**** about everything? What is the difference between 3 and 4 anyways (honestly asking since I haven't a clue about the seedings, did it really change whoever they were playing first round)? In any sense, if they feel it was so terrible that they got 4 instead of 3, why not suck it up and go out there and kick some ass and prove them (naysayers and the people doing the seedings) wrong instead of whining and crying about it? BTW - did UIC make it? I doubt it, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

Last week and this week there was oil starvation in the engine. They thought last week's was caused by some new oil pan, but apparently that wasn't the only thing causing it. Also, 2 of 3 of the Roush cars are up there in points - Kurt Busch (#97) and Matt Kenseth (#17). I feel for Martin because if he had one less DNF last year I think he could have easily won the championship - he was so close, but yet so far. Martin's driver's ed commercial is hysterical. On Jeff's message board on the NASCAR site, the fans (including myself) are talking about whether he should try to sign with another team (don't know if anything is available or not) or not because the last two years have been bad due to the engine crap he's been dealing with - it turned out Roush was experimenting on Jeff’s car with the engines and that is why he had so many blown engines last year. It doesn't help his pit crew are a bunch of dimwits either - that crew screws something up every week and as soon as Jeff gets his spots back, he pits and his crew screws him again. I knew I could commiserate with you HSC!
-
What's the deal with Roush engines? This was an ongoing problem last year and it looks like instead of fixing the problem, they have made it worse - first Mark Martin was out two weeks in a row and now Jeff Burton :fyou is out two weeks in a row. Last week there were 4 of 6 cars running Roush engines that were out because of blown engines (Mark Martin, Jeff Burton, Ricky Rudd and I think Kurt Busch). Can the individual drivers do something or is it up to Jack Roush to get his engineers to fix the problem?

Congrats! My bf won 4 of them last year, but only 2 showed up (2 were instant wins and the other two he had the right team that won - or something like that).

Why has Mota been going after him? I don't blame Piazza when it is that blatant.

While I agree with you (it's hard than it looks to escape), she wasn't a little girl. she is 15 now and 14 at the time of the kidnapping.

That's great news! I wonder what the story will turn out to be and with that said, I hope she is okay, physically and mentally.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A part of me says that I hope they paid too much and a part of me hopes he got squat (then Borass doesn't win and looks like a fool).
