Ponson to serve five days in jail
It is a combination of a choice and a predisposition. My father and uncle are both recovering alcoholics. I have to be very careful when I drink because I want one more, then one more and then one more. I know I have the predisposition so I know I have to be cautious when I do drink. I can be over the top cautious with it for many reasons.

Shut it before I tape yer mouth shut...
When I was in 3rd grade, a teach (acutally one of my favorite all time teachers) taped a kids mouth shut and tied him to his chair. The kid's mom was a teacher's aide at our school. She thanked the teacher as after that the kid calmed down quite a bit. Now a days that is an immediate law suit (oh yeah, that happened at a Catholic grammar school).

Interesting Poll Results
QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) LMAO - the electrical engineer in me really likes that joke. As for Mr Tookie, with everyone that has died because of his gang and likely his own hands, I just can not bring myself to feel any compassion for him. Maybe as Gov Terminator said, he had shown some remorse for what he did, I might be able to develop some compassion for him. Gotta say "Executioner" is not a job that I would ever want.

How long did it take you to get home today?
We had our company Christmas party so I left at 10 and got home at about 12:15. Brian tried to come out to Rolling Meadows for the party, but he left home at 4:18 and only got to I-294 and 95th street by 6 so he turned around and went home. He was about 2 blocks from home when he slid into a ditch. Good thing some neighbors were out and helped to get him out (apparently he was the second car in the space of about 5-10 minutes that happened to at that area).

Getting Married in a Church
QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) I'm very happily married. I want to grow old with my wife. Raise our children together. Experience the different facets of life together. I wouldn't have it any other way. I know that's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's definitely mine. Ditto that. Brian's parents divorced after 30 years of marriage. My parents just celebrated their 30th anniversary. Brian and I had a longer engagement and dated 3 yrs (or so) prior to getting married. For us, that was the way we wanted to go to be as sure as we could about everything especially since neither of us "believe" in divorce.

That is good to read Steff. I hope the little one continues to make such positive progress - prayers continue to go out for him and your family.

Plane Slides off Runway at Midway Airport
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) OMG. That's VERY bad.....I just flew out of Midway LAST Thursday.....scary s***. I flew out on 11/18 and arrived on Thanksgiving. I grew up east of the airport and my parents, sister and brother all live within a few blocks of the airport. May God bless the 6 yr old and the other victims as well.

Most ridiculous lyrics
QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) Blinded By The Light This brings back memories of the yahoo messenger argument we had about the lyrics - I ended up PM'ing him the lyrics I downloaded. To this day we cannot hear that song with ending up in fits of laughter.

Getting Married in a Church
Brian wanted to do so because of family and that was the church he grew up attending. I am glad we did as it has gotten me back in the habit of attending mass regularly.

eBay feedback...
QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) As a seller I leave feedback when the payment is made. As a buyer I make sure the product is what I ordered and it works properly. Then I leave feedback. ^ To be honest though, I avoid eBay like the plague for the last year or two. Brain is the one that bids/sells.

Worried about your liver?
Maybe that is why after all those years of heavy drinking my dad had little liver damage comparing to what the docs were expecting to find.
