QUOTE(shoota @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) The weekend came and went, and so did I. Boss was right. WTMI
  2. It's like 8 hours away, it's sold out, and I'm a poor college student. It would be a blast, but it is about as possible as the Bills playing in the Superbowl next Saturday morning.
  3. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 04:05 PM) What's mind boggling to me is that some Bears fans are extremely concerned with what Bill Belichick is doing when there team just made it to the Super Bowl and won the NFC. It made me proud to live in Chicago to see what seemed like half the crowd raise there arms in the air and do the safety sign in yesterdays game. People were aware, people knew it. I find it hard to believe that these educated, respectable Bears fans woke up this morning, rolled out of bed, and got all pissy about the way Bill Belichick walked off the field. The Cubs board is only a click away, Irish. He's a Cubs fan because he thinks Bellichick wasn't classy and respectful in defeat? That's a bit of a stretch. And it is possible for fans to think about two separate topics. I was celebrating the White Sox World Series victory, and shortly thereafter I talked about how big of a f***ing assclown Phil Garner was throwing his team under the bus after game 3 and how much it truly did affect his team.
  4. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 03:38 PM) Worst Sox Moment? Ozzie Guillen's first game as a manager. Sox are in the driver's seat in the bottom of the 9th, all set to start on the good foot - then through Ozzie mismanagement and Billy Koch being Billy Koch - we disappoint. Kind of a metaphor for the entire season to follow I felt. God what a memory. That sucked so much ass. Interesting tidbit, for those who care.......that was Mendy Lopez's last home run as a major leaguer (to date).
  5. Red, dude, you can't tell me you still don't think Bellichick is an asshole. I understand it's a hard loss, but he couldn't say a f'ing word to Manning after Manning fought his ass off against one of the best defenses - or maybe the best defense - Bellichick has ever had. I mean, can he show atleast a little class and talk to him for 30 seconds on the field. I can understand not wanting to talk after a loss though. I know I don't like to talk about the Sox after they lose, and I'm just a fan.
  6. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 01:13 AM) At least nothing is going to change. Obviously early, but everyone is already picking the Colts. Please, keep making the Bears underdogs. Please. LOL, I was watching the game with my neighbor, and he was cheering for the Saints. I asked him why, and he said "because I like cheering for the underdogs." I just laughed and was like "Dude, you DO realize that like EVERY person on earth has picked the Saints to win this game, right? Doesn't that make them the favorites?" then it was "(speechless)"
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 12:11 AM) He'll be in the running for my second jersey along with Mark Anderson and P-Nut Tillman. Mark Anderson is fun, but a Tillman jersey would be tight. And maybe I'm just kind of goofy, but I would just have it say 'Peanut'.
  8. wite = super pwn3d by 3E8 and Gage I guess in that case, it's a bad call, though I personally think face guarding is ridiculously cheap and should be illegal.
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 21, 2007 -> 10:16 PM) That call and the pass interference call in the end zone were horrific calls. Face-guarding, unless I'm greatly mistaken (and I dno't think I am) there is no penalty for face guarding and since the CB made no contact that should not have been a pass interference. That call was absolute horses*** (again unless I've been dead wrong about this not being an NFL penalty cause I could swear that face guarding was completely legal in the NFL). Face guarding is illegal. You have to be making an attempt at the ball.
  10. you guys should have listened to my advice and bet on the Bears. I did not, unfortunately.
  11. QUOTE(Tmar @ Jan 21, 2007 -> 01:51 PM) Its cause of all those weiners you stick in your nose. IMO, I'm still gonna punch you
  12. So I got a sinus infection the first semester too, and it bugged me for like a month and a half. I finally got rid of it over XMas break with some antibiotics, and I felt really healthy once again. Less then a week back at school, and I already have another one. I'm so good at getting sinus infections.
  13. QUOTE(shipps @ Jan 21, 2007 -> 02:42 AM) If this is the case Devin Hester will fumble and it will be costly.I love Hester but i have just had this feeling all year that he would cost us with a big fumble in a big spot.Snow will make it scary for our special teams. Well what is more important, the Bears special teams (ie one f'ing player) or the entire Saints offense? The Saints depend upon speed, and snow will slow them down, plain and simple. I saw it as an even game; now the Bears are probably huge favorites (assuming it's still snowing by game time, and from the way the radar looks, I'd put it at 50-50).
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 21, 2007 -> 02:03 AM) So what is the percentage of people picking against the Bears? 80-85%? Even at work today every damn person who decided to talk to me about th Bears (25-30 people) expressed doubt in a Bears victory most were outright picking the Saints to win. I never thought a team that went 13-3 during the regular season with a top 5 defense and a solid middle of the pack offense could be such large underdogs at home. It's insane. Thankfully odds makers have a sense for reality. The Bears are like 3 point favorites across the board. If I were a true betting man, I'd think about betting on them. But I'm not, so I won't.
  15. 2-4 inches of snow in the forecast, and the radar looks like fun. Have fun New Orleans, especially after you've practiced indoors all week.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jan 20, 2007 -> 07:49 PM) holy crap, I'll just throw this in on this thread since it's probably not worth starting a new one... but Jebus... with the Cubs convention this week the Cubs are getting pumped like there's no tomorrow... my fav so far is on espn.com that has an article saying Prior is ready! We've heard that before! But really, with all the money they spent this off-season they are STILL in the position of relying on Prior's health. Using hindsight, if they were dropping all this money, the Schmidt contract should have been one they stepped up with... IMO opinion, Carlos Schmidt Lily Prior Marquis looks a hell of a lot more solid than Carlos Lily Prior Marquis rotating rookie door of death Rich Hill
  17. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 20, 2007 -> 07:21 PM) Perhaps he was thinking of his long-term health and didn't want to die in his forties. That's what I figured. $8 mill and living to 65-70 compared with any number from $10-30 million (roughly) and dying 20 years sooner? You're rich either way, so I think I'd rather live longer.
  18. QUOTE(T R U @ Jan 20, 2007 -> 01:43 AM) so I am very excited about having Cameron here and I think hes going to finally be the guy to get us back on track. Really??? I had no idea

  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 11:23 AM) When BA is evaluating their prospects, they also take into account which level of the minor leagues a player should be starting at, because people can sometimes hit a level and then plateau out or struggel. To my eyes, either most or all of that list of pitchers you just gave were expected to start last season at AAA or above, while Danks hadn't even pitched a full season at AA when the 06 rankings came out. It's most. All except Elbert were above AA.
  22. QUOTE(U can putitontheboarrrrd...YES @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 04:23 AM) Well, I know it's only Jan 19th, but the Sox havent won a single game this year. So, duh, of course they are out of contention. How could you even think that a team who hasnt won a single freaking game could possibily even think about playoffs? I mean lets get with the program here. Certainly cant gear up for that almighty post season run when you havent even managed to put one stinking victory on the board. Wait.. what's that you say? They havent won a game because they havent.. actually.. played a game yet? Oh. Well I'll be damned. I guess they might have a glimmer of hope afterall. Very first part of this QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 09:34 AM) Luckily we have probably the best left handed pitching prospect in baseball in Danks to replace him if necessary. He is not the best left handed pitching prospect in baseball. And best left handed is sorta similar to tallest midget, only slightly more meaningful. I mean, how much would it matter if he was in fact the best left handed pitching prospect if there were 40 other right handed pitching prospects better than him? FWIW, he was ranked 59th on BA's top 100 prospects last year. LH pitchers in front of him were Francisco Liriano, Jon Lester, Scott Olson, Adam Loewen, Jeremy Sowers, and Scott Elbert.
  23. I'd say mainly because he is great against RHP and horrible against LHP. That is Podsednik and that is Mackowiak. The Sox 4th OFer should be able to hit LHP. It's just too bad the current 4th OFer can't. Then again, the Sox really don't have a 4th OFer right now.
