  1. QUOTE(Hawkfan @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 02:13 PM) Chew is DELICIOUS!!! start now and never quit baby! So that way we can cut 30 years off of our life or so? Or have half of our face cut off de to cancer removal surgery? I tried to quit for 1 week...and while the physical addiction is no longer there, the mental addiction kills. And the chicks don't dig it either.
  2. QUOTE(hi8is @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) but yeah kids, the stuff is not good and I WISH I COULD QUIT BUT I CANT so please please please, for the good of your self, dont ever even consider trying it. I'd pretty much agree with this. Wish I'd never taken that first dip. I love the stuff...but I f***in hate it so much at the same time.
  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 12:22 AM) Well you know the people who are up searching at threads at 1-6 in the morning, Drunks, the Unemployed, you get the idea. The kids that have school in the morning but don't want to go to sleep cuz that means school gets here sooner
  4. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 12:02 AM) yeah. thats what I keep telling myself. I heard somewhere one needs about 1500 major league at bats to really get a feel of what kind of hitter one is. Mauer will be fine. He just needs some protection in the lineup. He is batting round .300. Kubel is playing in the Arizona Fall League. Hopefully he wont rip up his knee again. And the pitching will be there. It just sucks the way the season has gone. like tonight 4 errors. Overthrown cutoff men. AA level ball Its a flash back to the late 90s..but with better pitching They'll be back. Gardenhire isn't the best manager in the world either. In the game on Sunday against us, the Twins got like 3 straight hits off of Contreras...and then he had the next man bunt? Why on earth would you do that? If a guy is being hit around like that, you don't give up outs, even if it's the World Series and the score is tied. I honestly love watching the Twins play Twins baseball - except against the Sox of course - but I honestly haven't seen that since probably April or May. It's just not there...that magic that the Twins had has seemed to disappear.
  5. Garland was pretty big in his last outing, no? Needs another one right here. DON'T SLOW DOWN.
  6. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 12:58 AM) lol i dont know I would like to move one to the Vikes..but..well..you know they cant run the ball or pass the ball or play any defense..so Im looking to the Wild! Im all abut goalie Dwyane Roloson ROLLY FOR PREZ!! oy...its just..this Twins team had so much potential...so much...JOHAN.. ah well. wait til next year I guess The Twins have played something like 44 1-run games..hold on let me check this stat.. From the Strib Sunday marked the 47th time this season the Twins have been held to two runs or less. They are 5-42 in those games. lol They have a few holes to fill. Trading Hunter...which I assume will happen...will actually be a decent step in the right direction. Hunter is an incredible player, and he has an unbelievable knack for stepping up in huge situations...but he is making about $10 mill next year, and the Twins simply cannot afford to have a $10 mill OFer hit .270 at the plate with a mediocre OPS. His glove is outstanding in CF, but that's not worth $10 mill alone. Trade him to New York, make sure Cano is part of the package, and you are already taking a step in the right direction. Morneau should be better with age and maturity next year, Mauer's power should start to develop, Kubel will be back, Ford will be in his 3rd full year...I still think things are looking up in Minnesota, even in a year as rough as this one has been on them.
  7. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) In f***ing mopup duty. Whenever he comes in in a big spot he s***s the bed. This is the biggest inning he has pitched so far this year and he s*** the bed. He is not clutch. Not clutch because of one outing? KRod isn't clutch than either, because he got lit up in game 5 of the 02 World Series if I remember right.
  8. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) When he signed his last deal, he pretty much said after that he is done. Hes been a mainstay in the rotation since the dark days of the mid 90s. *shudders at the thought of Scott Klingingbeck on the mound* You talking about the days of Rich Robertson and THE ORIGINAL Frank Rodriguez? Man, I loved those days. ...wait, no I didn't. f*** Cleveland
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) To add to my earlier post, I wonder if KW can put down a bunt.... And he has versatility too(except that being converted to a 3Bman basically ended his career). SIGN HIM NOW
  10. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) Move it down to your sig. We need Crede avatars everywhere. I hate common sense
  11. I would, except that I like the baby more. I changed it tho, so now it is AWESOME.
  12. Why not. You've already lost 12.5 games in less than 2 months, why not try to lose 12 more in 2 weeks. I haven't lost hope...but things are looking grim.
  13. He has talked about it before. Something about retiring after his next deal. Doesn't surprise me at all. He is younger, like mid to late 30s I believe...but when you stop wanting to play, you stop wanting to, I guess.
  14. Put up 1 Cotts to Politte to Jenks...I guess
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) Hell get Borchard up there, Everett is just awful right now. Has Harold Baines officially retired yet?
  16. QUOTE(valponick @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) Nah, that'd be a huge mistake, you need the left handed bat. Besides, Gload is a better hitter than Widger. So have Widger bat left-handed. He honestly can't be any worse than Everett.
  17. QUOTE(valponick @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Everett is SUCH a selfish hitter, I'd so much rather see Gload at DH. I'd rather see Widger
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) the indians are 5.5:1 to win the AL Yeah, so? They are still the best team in baseball right now. I don't see anyone better than them. You almost have to get lucky to beat them
  19. This team is one of the worst offensive teams in the majors right now. It doesn't help that the worst hitter in the lineup right now is hitting 3rd, now does it?
  20. Cooler September night(from what I could tell), and the ball is not carrying? That is not a shocker
  21. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) And, God forbid we don't make the playoffs, I'd cheer my ass off for Cleveland... so long as Oakland didn't make it. Cleveland is a real fun team to watch, IMO. It's a shame that they're in the Central, or else they'd be one of my favorite other teams. I would like to, but they piss me off too much...in fact, they piss me off very similarly to how the Twins did in 2002. This Indians team is better than that Minnesota team, but right now, as far as I view them as a fan, they are the same thing. Their cockiness, their bold confidence, the fact that they KNOW they are going to beat your ass and there is nothing you're going to do about it...THAT is what pisses me off. As soon as that wears off, then I'll like them like I like Minnesota. Of course, it might never wear off, and I'll hate them forever.
  22. Marte is back, there is no question about that. But why? Hermanson is still solid as hell...I still prefer Cotts to Marte. Whatever, it's not bad being able to have a 6-man rotation for closer.
  23. QUOTE(IndplsSoxFan @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) I heard a funny take on the radio. The Sox are actually losing on purpose in order to secure the wildcard. The reason behind this is b/c the past few World Series Champions have come through via the wildcard. Not a bad idea...at least it explains the losing. I would buy it, but there is 1 problem. It is the NL's turn to have a Wild Card winner win it all. Anaheim(AL)-Florida(NL)-Boston(AL)-??? Maybe they'll let us and Houston switch for the next 2 months.
  24. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 05:36 PM) Did anyone find that odd that the first response was a double post? I mean, I found that downright scary.
