  2. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 31, 2005 -> 02:15 AM) Whatchoo gonna do, Billy boy? These next two months ought to be very interesting. I imagine it would be nearly impossible to acquire that much SP without just destroying your future. Gotta figure they will be firesaling around July 31

    QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ May 30, 2005 -> 12:00 PM) Audioslave-Out of Exile Melikey Although the formatting of the CD reminds me a lot of the first album, if you get what I am saying
  4. QUOTE(redandwhite @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:44 AM) Ozzie Guillen has cost the White Sox many games this season, and almost has cost this team every game this season. It makes you wonder why anyone in there right mind would want to keep a bad manager around through 2009. You'd rather have Jerry Manuel?
  5. So essentially what this article is trying to tell me is that Allen Baird is a considerably better GM than Kevin Towers? I declare shenanigans
  6. Another reason I'm for having Thomas play seldomly after his callup is so that he does not reinjure that ankle right away.
  7. What the f***, burn that place down. I want nothing to do with Nazi's in America. THIS IS NO COINCIDENCE, THE TWINS AND MINNESOTA ARE FULL OF NAZI'S. Having said that, I should mention that I'd probably believe this guy if he weren't so stupid.
  8. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ May 29, 2005 -> 06:58 PM) we should trade cotts for juan cruz keep shingo because he luers over japanese players No No
  9. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 27, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) It may be just that time to get our Cubs injury translator out. Let's look at the possble outcomes: Bruised Elbow, may miss a start = Tommy John Surgery, out a year and a half Muscle Tighness, may miss a start = Torn Rotator Cuff, Career in doubt Inflamation, will miss 2 or 3 starts = Reconstructive sugery, out for the year Broken arm, out 2-3 months = Death RIP Mark Prior then?
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 27, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) Don't you think he'd like to get out of a situation where he is almost guaranteed to never win, and go to one where he atleast has a shot? If I had to take a guess, I'd say he would accept almost any trade, unless it were going to like Tampa Bay or Kansas City - hell, he may even accept a trade to KC.
  11. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 28, 2005 -> 03:33 AM) Oh hell. If Frank comes up and goes 0-4 in his first game, 70% of the posters will be screaming for him to be sent back down. 10% will blame KW for it. 10% will blame Ozzie. 5% will b**** because we cut Timo. The rest of us will be rolling our eyes as we read all the BS. What is saddest is that you could very well be right. (except that the 10% that blames KW for it will actually be Anthrax)
  12. I'm not a Norm fan, and I figure Kalapse is probably right. To me, I think this looks exactly like his past couple shows, and it looks like he is reaching for material and seems kind of lame. I of course have not watched the show, so I might do that before I make any further comment.
  13. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:15 PM) Meh, Wells wouldn't be better than any pitcher in our current rotation. We also have a top 3 rotation in the majors. Not a lot of team's pitchers would crack our rotation. Saying he wouldn't is not saying he is a bad pitcher. Al Leiter, Greg Maddux, nor anyone else in that tier of pitching would probably crack our rotation...that does not mean they are bad pitchers, but rather that our rotation is THAT good.
  14. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) I have too much time on my hands. I just wanna see if he answers any of those. He will, and he will get pwn3d 16 more times
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) 1) How many games has Juan Uribe played at 3rd? 2) How could we afford Cabrera if Uribe was going to replace Joe Crede, and you still want us to get Gooch? 3) Russ Ortiz is signed for 1 more year and will make an extra $12 million. 4) Who can we get from Atlanta to be our next GM? It's not like there's a Paul DePodesta or J.P Riccardi waiting in the wings to take over there. 5) Orlando Cabrera - .229/.296/.347 all for $32 million over 4 years. Since he's turning it around, splits in May; .196/.281/.255 6) The man he replaced; David Eckstein - .299/.368/.390 all for $10.2 million over 3 years. 7) Would you still take Orlando Hernandez with his "DL Stints and all" over Russ Ortiz for a less $25 million over 2 less years? 8) Who said that Jaret Wright was "GREAT" 9) So KW was "forced" to hire Ozzie. You think he may have quit if he wasn't able to do his job to its fullest capabilities? 10) JR is never going to ink a pitcher long - term. Mark Buerhle is locked up until 2007 with an option for 2008 IIRC. Freddy Garcia locked up until 2007. JG will most likely get a long - term deal worked out. Jose Contreras and Orlando Hernandez locked up until 2006. But I guess since we're not handing out Mike Hampton style contracts to the likes of Russ Ortiz, it's just not good enough right? 11) What do you think of Matt Clement now compared to 4-6 months ago? 12) You called for a pitching first team. Well if Russ Ortiz and co. were in our rotation, you think we would have still won 33 games this season? 13) Would you rather win 13 straight divisional titles like Atlanta, or 2 world series like the Florida Marlins? 14) You think KW would still go for the long ball approach even without Ozzie, with what has happened over the past 4 seasons? Watch the Minnesota Twins, that's what he did. 15) When Gio comes up (most likely 2007,2008), yes MB will still be here. He has a 9.5 million option for 2008 IIRC. 16) If you don't like 2nd place finishes, how do you think the fans of the Kansas City Royals feel? The Detroit Tigers? Remind me to bump all of these threads at the end of the season. I don't know if I should be happy or sad that you did this.
  16. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) Anthrax you ruined another thread. Congratulations. He loves joo too
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 25, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) Yes it was a joke lies
  18. QUOTE(Be Good @ May 26, 2005 -> 06:32 PM) The Twins are in a division where all five teams are ranked 15 in below in payroll, expect our Sox are 13. (at least in '04). Some one from the AL central has to win. So the Twins winning the divions (ranked 2nd in payroll in the div.) is no surpise. And they only advanced on to the CS once If I can remember. I have no argument though with the A's and Marlins. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1778397 ('04 payroll, I couldn't find this years) The Royals are in the same division as the Twins
  19. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 06:01 PM) Better than a 9.19 ERA and on the DL. There is a difference. For starters, I was for bringing in Wright...but for between like 5-7 mill, somewhere in that territory. I wanted him to be our #3 starter. I was wrong, and am not afraid to admit it. Kenny of course did make the right moves, with his worst move being bringing in Jermaine Dye, who many thought was actually a steal at the time of the signing, and it may end up being a steal if he can turn it on, which I do doubt. You wanted Cabrera, essentially annointing him the second coming, when it has been proven over and over that he is not good. You have not backed off of these initial statements of him being one of the best SS's in the majors, when he is average at the very best. Cerb has even showed you his magnificent stats this year, yet you continue to mention how awesome he is. Admit that he is getting paid millions more than he should, and move on. And IIRC, Wright got $21 mill over 3 years, with the possibility of the 3rd year being voided if he has shoulder injuries. Russ Ortiz got 4 years, $33 mill, or just over $8 mill a year, with no chance of voiding the deal at any time. So basically, it is 2 years and about $14 mill VS 4 years and $33 mill. Which is the better deal, REGARDLESS of stats?
  20. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) Hmm who is worse.. A pitcher who's ERA is in the 9s and on the DL Jabroni and most of sox talk choice.. Or a SS who is starting to pick up his game.. HMMMM Tough choice, your right Jabroni we should have inked Wright :rolly If 4 for your last 26 is starting to pick up your game, I'd hate to see you when you're slumping.
  21. Man what a great thread. I just have one thing to say to Anthrax, even though I should post the image about 500 times
