  1. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 18, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) Oh, give it a rest. You guys bash Timo all the time and say he's worthless. I guess Borchard must be some stud though. :rolly Timo sucks. So does Borchard. Doesn't make it right to insult either of them the way you did.
  2. Why would KC not trade Sweeney within the division? He has like 3 years left on his deal, and they won't be anywhere close to competing till maybe 2007 if they are lucky. Note that Pittsburgh did not care that they were trading within the division in 03 when they sent Lofton, Ramirez, and Simon to the Cubs. It is the Sox that should not want to deal for him. To bring up the same Pittsburgh example again, the Cubs gave up relatively nothing. If the Sox could get away with trading an overrated prospect(Hill/Borchard), a bench player who is not on the books for much longer(Hernandez/Dye), and another player who is not coming to my mind(so maybe someone could help me out...LOL), then I'd make the trade. I'd give nothing of real long-term value to them whatsoever.
  3. He absolutely had to of meant that he can't keep up his current pace because the amount of innings will get to him. Because even as dumb as he is, he would know that Garland has not thrown fewer than 191.6 innings since 2001.
  4. To keep the fun talk about minor leaguers going on the wrong board(I love being a rebel), can Sweeney play 1B at all? Cuz I would not mind keeping Rowand, if that is at all possible. Sweeney at 1B, Fields at 3B, Rowand in RF, maybe Owens in CF, and Anderson in LF if everything works out, which I doubt will happen...but it looks nice right now. And then if Crede becomes a f***in monster, we have a good problem to have...have Fields at 1B/3B and Sweeney at 1B/OF
  5. QUOTE(Yoda @ May 16, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) Hernandez looks f***ed up, Garcia has blown leads and Contreras is so and so. The only ones left are Buehrle and Garland. And who knows if Garland can keep this up. It's a matter of time till Judy makes her appearance and it's going to happen sooner or later. Can someone please give stats on the latest performances of our SP? Well Garland has an ERA over 9.00 against the Blue Jays this year. Does that count?

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 16, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) The White Stripes seem to be always on my I-pod. Love Weezer. Check out Dispatch, great band. Always go back to Soundgarden and STP, also AudioSlave. Out of Exile out in a week. I am f***in pumped up. Just bought 'Superunknown' too...dunno why, because I have all of the songs of it on my computer, but meh, it is OK...I had a $100 bill and wanted to break it, so I decided why the f*** not.
  7. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) How much can you bench a guy making $8 million and who hit 41 homers last season? Probably the same amount you can bench the same guy who put up .304 27 104 .857 and was an All-Star the year before.
  8. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) And the Tigers are 17-19 as well. I'm sure some of Alan Trammell's managerial moves had nothing to do with those 19 losses this season or the Tigers' 90 losses last season. You are gonna tell me 17-19 is bad with that pitching staff?
  9. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:33 PM) If we're gonna put Roid Boy Bonds in the HOF then someone like Maris certainly deserves it IMHO. Bonds was gonna be a HoFer anyways...he had put up 500-500 without doping. However, he would not have been considered one of the best ever without doping, so that distinction is taken away from him.
  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) So we should do what the Tigers do? Yeah, they make great decisions including giving Magg$ a bazillion dollars when they really needed starting pitching. I hope we don't ever try to copy anything the Tigers do. The Tigers offense is how much better than the Sox, even without Maggs? What you are doing is questioning the front office moves, something Dave Dombrowski is in charge of. What qwerty is bringing up is managerial moves, something Alan Trammell and the coaching staff is in charge of. Apples and oranges.
  11. QUOTE(Nokona @ May 15, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) It's alright guys, i'll stab John (chi-guy) in the side tommorow. He deserves it. You can just tell him GB will be in the cellar next year anyways
  12. QUOTE(MinnesotaSoxFan @ May 15, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) atleast we didnt get the first pick in the draft(49ers)...or have a pot smoking runningback who ditched the team before training camp(dolphins)...
  13. And, to be quite honest and blunt about this, we are 38 f***in games into the season. Not 60. Not 81. Not 120. Thirty f***in' eight. There is no guarantee the Sox make the playoffs. There is no guarantee that they finish .500. Injuries do happen in baseball, and we have 2 pitchers that spent time on the DL in our rotation. So how about this thread sucks and we move on?
  14. Let me see if I am understanding this correctly Are we talking about what teams we think will be the biggest roadblock between the Sox and the World Series?
  15. QUOTE(Beastly @ May 15, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) I will only want Frank back if he can prove he can still run on the base paths. I thought we were all about speed. Yes, other teams have slower players in the lineup, however, with his ankle, can he really perform? If we ever see Thomas playing 1st, then we know its bad. Even though it is proven he bats better when he plays in the field. We are all about speed, yet we continue to let Konerko, Dye, Everett, and Crede start?
  16. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ May 15, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) Timo should go IMO, too. Ozuna is a better hitter, more versitile and a much faster. Willie too is valuable and should stay. But they might move Kevin Walker down to make room for Frank pending on how they feel their need of pitchers. But Timo is clutch
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 15, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) Bahahaha. Our s***ty kicker wants out when we were gonna out him anyway. Why doesn't the franchise just fold? Because then the cellar would get cold?
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 15, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) I don't even know anymore. Japanese names are confusing! I'm sure they are not confusing for Japanese people
  19. I hate the title...it will be misleading for some Going to edit it...
  20. QUOTE(knightni @ May 15, 2005 -> 03:11 AM) Hoyt was a drug addict and his career was slowly burning out after 1983. The Sox are lucky that they got Salazar, Gamble and Guillen for him. Tim Lollar hates you
  21. Just remembering a few I of course forgot the immortal Jose Valentin. WTF WAS I THINKING?!?!?!?!!?!?!111//!?!?! I also forgot about Norberto Martin. Paco was the man And Tony Phillips for the short while he was here. Man could that guy spit
  22. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 15, 2005 -> 02:25 AM) He sure can. Here's a list: Robb Nen Jason Schmidt Mark Prior Kerry Wood Carlos Zambrano Chad Fox Well, if we want to be technical about it, Fox's arm is awful. You could let him sit on his ass all year long and his arm would just like shoulder would just like tear itself. But I'm sure he has ruined more careers than that.
  23. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 14, 2005 -> 03:48 AM) Adam Scott wears better Golf Clothes. Yeah, but Tiger can buy more expensive clothes
  24. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 13, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) Dang, I hate to say this but they have an advantage in the pitching match ups. Hopefully our guys will be on their game. ??? 3-3, 4.02 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, .314 OBPA VS 3-2, 4.09 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, .314 OBPA 1-0, 3.18 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, .317 OBPA VS 2-1, 3.80 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, .306 OBPA 5-1, 2.91 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, .349 OBPA VS 3-1, 2.77 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, .248 OBPA Considering that in the NL, you face much weaker lineups on a regular basis(with about the lone exception being St. Louis), due to the pitcher hitting, the matchups look pretty even, except in the last game - perhaps even favoring the Sox. And as mentioned before, if the Sox can get to the bullpen with the score close, they will have a very good chance of winning the game.
  25. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 15, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) Ah this was pretty shoddy... Why not check and see what it was on Thursday when the Sox were on GN, and the cubs the lowly comcast? Cuz it wouldn't have made his point that's why. I now realize there wasn't a cubs game yesterday. D'OH. the point still stands. Just curious, because I honestly do not know... Is this compensating for the fact that WGN is a national TV station, while Comcast is a regional sports station?
