  1. No. Aaron Miles was in a similar situation like 2 years ago and was resigned by the White Sox. He did end up being traded, but the point remains.
  2. 8 wins in a row. Not bad Good job Sawks
  3. If I had a hockey game to watch, I would. Come to think of it, there's poker on. What the f*** am I doing?
  4. How could I forget something as important as that?
  5. In a completely non-homosexual way... Is anybody digging Derek Lowe's shaggy top? Damn, I wish I could have a head of hair like that. On another completely unrelated note...I think I'm bored cuz Boston's got this b**** wrapped up.
  6. That would be insane if KW did that. He would have to be getting a f***ing ton for RJ, or he'd have to trade him to a different NL team. If he traded him to an AL team, he should be fired immediately, unless he does indeed get a f***ing ton for RJ. Why would you trade RJ to an AL team when that is the league you have to get through to get to the World Series? Personally...I consider the source of the tidbit. Theya re expressing what they heard, but are putting a Yankee spin on the whole issue. "It is believed" leads me to believe that they don't know this for certain. They can't say that they will be trading him, because that would be a false story. The only fact they have in there is that the Sox expressed interest in RJ.
  7. I wasn't sure about Millar, but I kind of figured that was the way it was for Nixon. I remember a few years back when there were rumors of Sosa going to either New York or Boston and Nixon's name came up as part of the package, and Boston fans went apes***. They really like that guy.
  8. You don't trade Rowand strictly for the message it would send if you did. Rowand does not have the God-given talent most ball players do. However, he's worked his ass off and has busted his balls from day 1. He's a fan favorite, he's cheap, he hits the hell out of the ball, he plays good defense, he's fast...basically, a blue collar ball player. So you go out and trade your hardest working player for a rent-a-player? What the f*** is that s***? That's why you don't trade Rowand.
  9. This wasn't a career year, in fact, this year was really no different from 2001 or 2002. He hit more homers this year in large part due to the upper deck being changed up. Here's the numbers 2001 - 67 2B + HR 2002 - 57 2B + HR 2004 - 63 2B + HR And, fwiw, he hit 32, 27, and 41 homers respectively in those years. I am thinking that he would have hit 40-45 homers in 02 had the roof been like it is now back then, and I'm thinking he probably would have hit somehwere in the neighborhood of 30-35 homers this year had the roof not been cut open. I'm sure someone has mentioned this before...I'm just re-iterating it. Not saying it's a bad thing...in fact, it's pretty much a good thing. Just pointing out that his numbers are a little misleading.
  10. It's gross...but sadly, it's probably the truth. Again, don't think about that
  11. I am going to be "retiring" my signature with Maggs all but gone. I'll post the pic here just in case, because it is such a damn good gif file.
  12. And Peter Gammons is sticky somewhere. Stop. Don't think about that
  13. You know what's really funny about that? We're not the worst fans. Oakland has had multiple fans run across the field and in one tragic instance, had a kid injured by a cherry bomb in the stadium. What security? Philadelphia fans boo everything and anything, and throw s*** at players. Tell me how that does not qualify as being some of the worst fans. And even our great friends up north, the Minnesota Twins, had fans throw quarters at Chuck Knoblauch in his first year in LF with the Yankees. What a great group of supportive fans :rolly Everyone should do what they did with those incidents...just f***ing forget about it.
  14. Yep. Signed by the Mariners, was released by them, signed with the Yanks, was traded from NY to Pittsburgh for Enrique Wilson, and was then traded by Pit to us along with Ruddy Yan for Guerrier, who is now in Minnesota
  15. That could have ended up being like 2003 in all actuality. Come that close, and then just miss it. Not sure it would have happened...but it could have.
  16. Yeah. Lost the WS to the Dodgers in 59, lost the ALCS to Baltimore in 83, lost the ALCS to Toronto in 93, lost the ALDS to Seattle in 00. We've been to the playoffs like 7 times in 103 years. To put it into perspective, that means the Braves have had almost twice as many division titles in a row then we have playoff appearances in a 100 year history. That's sad.
  17. If Winamp is coming up, that's your problem. It should be showing up in Windows Media Player or Real Player...something that shows movies. Then again, I don't have the latest version of Winamp, so I'm not sure if Winamp shows movies. If it does, then I'm not sure. If not, then you need to get something that plays video.
  18. Congrats to Paulie. One of the few bright spots in a dismal season.
  19. For starters...you can't see the boob. You just see her pulling her shirt down. That was a bummer Now, to get to the more important issue...I would say try right clicking it, and going to "Save Target As". It will download, and then you just watch it from where you downloaded it. Hopefully that works.
  20. He's the best pitcher of the 3, I don't see why anyone wouldn't want him.
  21. And the Big Papi's help now and then too
  22. OK, I agree completely with that. In the offseason, any deal involving Sweeney, Anderson, and McCarthy is too expensive to make, unless you are getting a hell of a deal. They've said before they are thinking about retooling, but I see no point to do that...they have no core of players whatsoever, and are probably atleast 2 or 3 years away without spending a ton of money on players again.
  23. It makes plenty of sense. You are around your girlfriend so much that you're rarely with your friends. That happens to all kinds of people.
  24. I hate the Packers, and because of that, I hate Favre(still wondering why it's pronouced farve it it looks like favor) But that's terrible news. His dad passes on last year, his brother in law(I think that's what it was) dies this year, and his wife is diagnosed with breast cancer? Regardless of whether or not the pack rebuild, I'm not sure how much Brett can take. This could be his last season in the league.
