  1. $12 mill would be stolen. I would almost count on the Yankees offering him ATLEAST $15 mill a year, and possibly more. They need pitching worse then us, and that says something.

    New Car!!!

I think my dad bought a spoiler for it recently, but just hasn't gotten it put on yet. Oh yeah, that car also hit a deer once too...that picture was taken before we hit the deer...and it still looks the same. There was no damage from the deer, to tell you the truth. We got very lucky.

    New Car!!!

cws...deep red like this? BTW...in case you guys want to know, that's me in the driver's seat at about age 12(so about 5 years ago) and that is the South Dakota state capitol building in the background
  4. I remember that day like it was yesterday. It seemed like just a normal day, nothing new happened. I went to my second period history class, and that's all we watched the whole period. I remember thinking right then how little sports, entertainment, hell, everything really meant on that day. I remember that was the week that the world just stood still and did nothing. And I remember that the White Sox were in NY, and, unless I misunderstood what was said, I thought I remembered hearing or reading that the Sox were supposed to tour the WTC that day. Doesn't seem like it was 3 years ago to me though either.
  5. So essentially, what you are saying is, either people wouldn't even know about this board, or this board wouldn't even exist, had it not been for ESPN. And I agree 100%
  6. Robbie - Tampa Bay Sandy - retirement Everett - White Sox Ordonez - Giants Politte - Tigers Valentin - Red Sox
  7. I would guess you're wrong. I think they'll pick up a veteran guy, but they won't sign a bonafide stud or anything near that. I think the very best pitcher you could see us sign is Odalis Perez, and I would guess they'd sign someone like Radke or Ortiz. They aren't going to bring in a never has been, never will be type(like Loaiza), because those guys will only turn to gold once in a blue moon.
  8. Because we offer them a better contract then the next team, probably.
  9. 1. No...gets too hot 2. No 3. Hell yes! 4. Yeah 5. Nope, but bacon is good ass s***. I love bacon, especially when it is done just right...not too chewy, not too crispy.
  10. Ah, don't worry too much about it. This is all in fun. And if he is dealt, you deal with it at the time. No big deal.
  11. That doesn't surprise me either though I guess. Must be something in the water
  12. Bell is third on the depth chart. Denver released Ahmaad Galloway Link to story But I agree with you nonetheless. I do believe Steven Jackson is more valuable then Bell is.
  13. Miami certainly produces more. They also produce better talent too. Usually, the amount of talent and the amount of egos is proportional.
  14. Both schools produce huge egos. That argument doesn't count.
  15. What's wrong with him on the field? He boots the occassional routine play, but he's not bad in the field at all.
  16. Many could have said he is nothing but a pain in the ass, but does it look like the Red Sox care? Rickey Henderson was an egotistical asshole that only referred to himself in the third person, but you would take him on your team any day of the week because he was a damn good ballplayer. He could have issues...most people do. No big deal. With many Latinos in the lockerroom, he would feel right at home, and Ozzie would make him feel at home too. The lockerroom/bad chemistry thing seemed to be a problem when Jimenez was on the team and Manuel was managing and not giving a s***...we are no longer in the Jerry Manuel era. I would love to get Pedro. He is probably the biggest gamer available in FA, hell, he may be the biggest gamer in the MLB...if we got him, we would win.
  17. On the subject of JoBo...I thought this was kind of interesting. Justin Morneau for the Twins in 106 ABs last year hit about .225 with 4 homers, 16 RBIs, a K-BB ratio of 3, and an OPS of around .600. This year, he's killing the ball...hitting .260 17 47 with a K-BB ratio of less then 2, and an OPS near .900. Not saying Borchard will do that at all...Morneau in those 106 ABs last year actually hit above .200, and that was Morneau's first experience ever in the majors, while Borch first came up in 2002. However, I do see a lot of similarities in their numbers, and I wouldn't rule out Borchard improving next year. He looks like s*** right now...but he won't be a .150 hitter forever.
  18. Not laughing at you Yoda or the thought of getting Pedro, just laughing at the wording of this. There aren't a ton of Pedro Martinez's out there. Anyways, I'm not really sure I want Pavano. Give me Pedro over Pavano any day of the week.
  19. Ugliest.stat.ever I do not want to start this, because I may get my head bitten off...but am I the only one that thinks that this team may have won just a few more games under Jerry Manuel? I really do not want to beat a dead horse...but, I can't resist the urge. And, while I agree completely with Rex's rant, I do not like Reynolds. And I am allowed to not like Reynolds. Another thing...if Reynolds thinks that small ball will beat the Twins, he has another thing coming. They are one of the best fielding, most fundamentally sound teams in the game today. They play the game right. I would almost be surprised if they didn't make it to the ALCS, and it wouldn't surprise me to see them make it to the World Series, and possibly even win it. When you get 1 dominant starter like Santana, who will give you a quality start EVERY time he takes the mound(and usually it is a very good start, not just a quality start...and he rarely allows more hits and walks/innings pitched). They will be tough as nails to beat in the postseason, and I honestly only think two teams can...the Sawks, and the A's.
  20. I just don't see how the Cowboys will get worse. They improve their receiving corps, they improve their running corps, they don't get much worse at QB at the very least(and the fact that Vinny has played in Parcells' system before only helps him), and their defense didn't get worse. I do not think the Redskins have added enough(consider that this team went 5-11 last year, they lost a top 3 CB in the league, and added a HB that could have had his success due to the system he plays in...they added an old QB, though I do like Sean Taylor...who doesn't like Sean Taylor though? Maybe because I haven't seen Gibbs coach I don't know how he coaches...but I just don't think they have improved enough to be a playoff team. I see them as an 8-win team
  21. To get that kind of production out of him elsewhere, you'd probably also need to add Bonds to the middle of your lineup.
  22. That would be cool...going to USCF, and seeing Josh Beckett pitch for the home team Damn, I can dream, right?
  23. I do not feel sorry for Maggs financially. That part I agree with. However, I completely disagree on my feelings towards Maggs. He didn't know he was going to get injured, and had he not collided with Willie, he is looking at probably a 5-year $70 mill deal from someone in all likelyhood. You honestly can't tell me you do not feel bad for him that he was hurt. Him not accepting the contract, that's understandable...but being hurt severely like he is is not something you should be happy about.
  24. FWIW...Rowand has never had a lot of talent. He is a guy that has worked his ass off and is reaping the benefits. He is a grinder. With the talent he has, he really should be a 4th OFer...we're lucky he's a blue collar kind of guy.
