He'll see some time in RF within the next couple weeks with Maggs out. He's a solid player. I'm glad he'll get more PT. He could realistically be a 15-20 homer type of guy...Brian Daubach-esque numbers.

Perhaps. Only a few of us are blessed with common sense. He's better then Timo Perez, I guaran-f***ing-tee you that. And he hits lefties well. So he's not the worst. See, that common sense thing is biting you in the ass again. LMFAO...this is Crede's 2nd full year in the bigs...you make him out to be some veteran who's been on 5 or 6 different teams and has never made it. Common sense. He's like 26...one adjustment to his swing, and he's good as gold. If he never makes it, so be it...we move on. No big deal. You're right. I can forgive ONE mistake. Billy Koch has made about 20-25 HUGE mistakes in a year and a half. I'm sick of the bulls***, and if you had any common sense, you'd be sick of his bulls*** too. No, but you sure as hell are sounding like you think that he is Koch makes $6 mill...about 10x as much as Rowand and Crede COMBINED. Koch has less room for error then Rowand and Crede, yet he's making more errors(also known as mistakes). Rowand and Crede have trade value...Koch has none. Therefore, if Rowand and Crede are pieces of s***, then what is Koch? 4 pieces of s***? :dips***

I think for the most part, we all ignored him a threw a couple of these(--------> :fyou ) at Billy Koch. But I do believe one of these( ---------> :dips*** ) was thrown towards Beastly.

I got a hell of an idea for a line of clothing(assuming this is with Soxtalk's approval). Start a line of "Soxtalk's most wanted" T-Shirts, with Sox killers or players Sox fans just don't like on them. AJ Pierznyski, Billy Koch, Sammy Sosa...or they can be customizable. If someone doesn't like Jose Valentin, let them make a Soxtalk's most wanted of Jose Valentin. They don't like James Baldwin, let them make a Soxtalk's most wanted of James Baldwin. Not sure of a design for them, but I'm sure something could be thought of.

They can pitch around you all the time and you still won't walk 80 times in 50-60 games like he has without great plate discipline. Hawk and DJ always talk about guys saying they look changeup and can still catch the fastball, and they talk about how hard it really is. I do agree. It's damn near impossible. Unless you're Barry Bonds. He's probably the only player in the league who can look changeup and still catch the fastball. What I still find hard to comprehend and just take in is how often Bonds really does go deep. He walks 170-180 times a year, and still hits 40-50 homers. In-f***ing-sane. You can throw him 5 perfect pitches on the black, and he is still likely to hit one out. I did not watch Mays play or Aaron play or Ruth play, and I didn't even see all that much of Henderson. However, I'd have to say Bonds is probably in the top 3 in having the ability to completely dominate a team. You take Bonds away from the Giants, and they are WORSE then mediocre, even with a solid pitching staff. Without Bonds, the Giants are in Expos-territory. With Bonds, they are a playoff contender. Funny how things work out. Out of the players in today's game making $15+ mill a year, Bonds is the ONLY one who is worth every cent of it and more.

Translator brought it up as "asno mudo" which is "dumb ass" in English. Translator may be wrong. It has been wrong several times before. I believe you before translator. You being Hispanic, and translator being, well, not Hispanic.

We all need to do it sometimes, may as well be Koch. Atleast I can concentrate on not having to defend Jose day in and day out.
-
Yay. 170 posts and still going strong. And 170 posts...and not ONE by Anthony. Anthony, defend your boy! I gotta a feeling that with the latin influence in the clubhouse, Koch has undoubtedly been called a "cabeza del pene" and an "asnomudo" a few times tonight. BTW, those are roughly "dickhead" and "dumbass" respectively.
-
Atleast I'm not alone. I can only wonder what the hell is going on in that locker-room right now. I would bet that someone is getting b****ed out.
-
LaTroy Hawkins of 2001 would give him a run for his money. But he is, BY FAR, the worst pitcher in the majors for the money. $6 mill for s***. I'd rather have Chan Ho Park then Koch. Then again, I'm probably not the only one.

Which is why Royce Clayton stuck around as long as he did, why JM didn't bench PK until June of last year, and JM wasn't fired after the 02 season or in April of 03, and, quite frankly, was probably why Ozzie Guillen was hired over Cito Gaston. You don't sign guys to huge ass contracts, you don't have to play them. Imagine that.
-
This stupid son of a b**** is given a 2-run lead against the worst offense in the AL. What the hell do you think he does? BLOW IT. How you gonna defend this one Anthony? :fyou Koch
-
Well, you are a Red Sox fan
-
No they're not. Garcia's in the last year of his contract, and, quite frankly, he has been less the good his past two years. Rowand and Rauch may be the best offer Seattle gets.
-
I think it's worth noting that he scored 140 runs for a Twins team that won 78 games and whose leading home run hitter hit 16. They also had only 6 guys break the double digit homer barrier. Shows how overrated homers really are. Their low ERA for the year was 3.01...that was Mike Trombley out of the bullpen. Radke led the starters in ERA with 4.46. Shows how a good leadoff hitter can do all sorts of damage, eh? He does more then just what his stats show.

We need to start winning while the Twinks are losing. As soon as they get Stewart back, they'll probably go on one of their tears and win something like 27 of 30. If we can have them by 7 or 8 at the ASB, I'll feel a little better...especially if we have a 5-man rotation(not this 4-man rotation bulls*** with us really not having a #5).

.350 50 150 isn't looking good (so far). But .320 40 130 is still a definite possibility. For only caring about homers, he sure does get a lot of singles.
-
It is different from a homer because a homer leaves the yard. And you get to trot around the bases, not sprint. That's the only difference, and that isn't a big enough difference to mean anything. I also could care less if Willie never hits a homer. Chuck Knoblauch was rookie of the year in 1991 and he hit maybe 1 homer all year. However, I do believe Willie will develop a little power as he gets older...maybe not 20 homers a year power, but maybe 5-10, and if he gets real lucky, even 15 in a year. Sort of like Kenny Lofton.

Marlins searching for relief and a catcher...
witesoxfan replied to redandwhite's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If he's their #1 prospect, they will probably only give him up if they are getting a perennial all-star catcher and an absolute stud reliever...not a 38-year old catcher who's had 10 knee operations and a reliever who just cleared waivers. -
One was an infield single. That's Wheels LeCroy for ya
-
What can you do?

IMO, putting Lofton on but leaving Raines off is BS. Lofton doesn't have the OBP that Raines has nor does he have the SBs that Raines had(given, Raines did play in a SB-happy era in the 80s, when Vince Coleman once stole 107 bases with a .232 average and an OBP of .301), but Lofton won't get the 808 that Raines had. I voted Rickey though. No one is even close. Career OBP of .401, 1406 SBs, and a SB% of 80%? Insane. No one was better then Rickey...ever.

Maybe you're just a piece of s***. Paulie's been fine. I'd rather have him being the "piece of s***" like he has been this year compared to what he was doing last year. If he's a piece of s*** this year for maybe not getting a clutch hit or two, then what the hell was he last year when he was hitting .180? :dips***

No. You don't trade injured goods. Crede should only be dealt as part of a package if it's a move that will put us over the top, undoubtedly. You'll get nothing for Alomar Jr. We got max value for him in getting Pacheco for him a couple years ago, and Pacheco was just a project at the time. Again, you'll get very little for Jose Valentin. May as well keep his .270 average and 10 homers along with his OPS of .850-.900 on the team. Jose should go nowhere...if he goes anywhere, the Sox are making a big mistake. That's the only move that makes any sense, and that doesn't even make sense...the Mariners would want a prospect who is damn near ready for the majors, not Timo Perez. Perez will be lucky to get you anything. You don't make moves just to make moves, especially dumbass moves like that.
