  1. Unfortunately, I can't take credit for it. I've heard it somewhere before. Not sure where, but it is not by me. But I thought it was kind of funny too.
  2. Cheat, I proposed a trade...counter if necessary, or just call me a dumbass and I'll take it. And then kick your ass this week so I can keep this sig.
  3. LMAO This is fun to read. Please continue.
  4. f*** Daigle. We should just sign Finch.
  5. The poster formerly known as Koch This. He plead his case that he never has been a Koch supporter, just that he made a name quickly, but with better judgement, got that dumbass's name out of his user ID.
  6. No. Their closer is LaTroy Hawkins, much like Shingo Takatsu is ours. Baker just pulled an Ozzie(or Ozzie pulled a Baker...or maybe they pulled each other ), and left Borowski in at closer too long, and it cost not only Prior a win, but the team a win as well. He'll put Hawkins in as closer from now on, and they'll be fine. And if they're not fine, Jose Mesa/Jorge Julio/Eddie Guardado/John Smoltz/Ugeuth Urbina will only cost a couple prospects that the Cubs have.
  7. I'm not sure he's suggesting we trade Koch for Colome...Tampa would not accept that. I think he's more suggesting that we trade, say, Jon Adkins for Colome. They'd consider that, and may actually accept it. Koch is, for the most part, untradeable. The only way you trade him is if you trade someone else that is good along with him. Or you trade him for someone else that's sucking ass for his respective team and has a contract to go along with it(though I can't think of anyone off the top of my head...there's gotta be one or two)
  8. No. Good righties, with the exception of Roger Clemens, kill us. I can only hope Jose and Gload are ready, because they will be needed(assuming Steve Finley isn't brought in in the meantime), being our only LH power hitters and all. I would be happy with 3-3 as well. I like our starting pitching, but our 1-4 If their rotation can be healthy for 3 months(as in Prior-Wood-Zambrano-Maddux-Clement), they could go on a .700+ streak, no matter how good the offense is. What's even scarier to think about is that the Cubs are a good leadoff hitter away from running away with the division WITHOUT Sammy and Wood.
  9. What? You wouldn't trade Koch for Biddle? I would in a second, and then I'd release Biddle's ass. The trade would look like s*** because Montreal could, if they wanted to, just resign Biddle again. But we get rid of Koch's salary and get rid of Koch. Beautiful if you ask me.
  10. Now you see why homefield advantage is so important. And you see why the 1987 Twins won their division and the World Series.
  11. Biddle is in Joe Borowski territory(meaning he's worse then Koch). He can't be counted on to get a save, and his stats thus far suck...7.32 ERA? 1.73 WHIP? 337 BAA? The only thing good about him is that he has had solid control(2.25 BB/9), but if you get torched like he has, you must be throwing strikes on a consistent basis. And I don't want Armas. He's injury prone, and pretty much has a fake arm. Besides, any player named after 4 body parts is no good as far as I'm concerned. The Expos can keep Armas and just let us get Freddy Garcia, who has not had the surgeries or does not have the trips to the DL that Armas has had.
  12. I say give Gload a chance. I'm done with Perez. He's not that good. But Rowand seems to hit LHP fine, and Gload should really be given a shot everyday. If Gload can do well, then we are looking good. Not saying I'm against calling up Borchard, more that I just want Gload to be given a fair shot at starting.
  13. You take the best talent available. That was Josh Fields. The Sox need depth at 3B anyways. And if it lights a fire under Crede's ass, then so be it. He could use a kick in the ass anyways.
  14. Sadly(well, not sadly for the first sentence), that whole post is exactly right.
  15. Marte does not deserve a shot to close, regardless of the stats he has put up. He is the only real good lefty in our pen right now. Shingo should be closing from now on, period.
  16. For a non-game, non-trade thread, I bet it is.
  17. I think it did. I started it right after he gave up the game-tying hit, and then I was told he walked in the winning run(btw, isn't that a WHIP of 15? That's one HELL of a WHIP for a closer. ) I made a post on the second page, went and did other s*** for about an hour or an hour and a half to get my mind off of it, and then I come back on and see that it has about 165 posts. It was quite cool actually.
  18. You just wait. Mark Bellhorn and Jamie Moyer will make you regret trading them. Facing their former team, their both gonna have huge weeks.
  19. Huge matchup. Time for an asswhooping...by me...on Dbaho. Get ready.
  20. We don't hate the person Koch, we hate the player Koch. Everytime there is a "death threat" towards a player on here, it is exactly that...to the player, not the person. :banghead
  21. You know where that money went? To pay Maggs, Caballo, Konerko, Thomas, Valentin, Buehrle, Loaiza, and all the others with big contracts. Had we resigned Colon to the 3-year, $36 mill deal that we offered him, we probably wouldn't have Maggs or Caballo.
  22. See, here's what I think is funny. KW has publicly said that he will not trade Reed or Borchard, not even for Freddy Garcia who is having a pretty solid year, yet this guy thinks KW will trade Reed for Kris Benson?
  23. I think you'd have to designate him for assignment, and then it would be up to him to accept it. Someone else can probably explain this a little better, but if I remember this correctly(and I may not be remembering this correctly...this could be all wrong), we designate Koch for assignment, and he can then accept it, clear waivers, and go to the minors, or he can not accept it, and ask to be traded or released(both of those are highly unlikely). If he does not accept it, and we cannot trade him(and, in all likelyhood, we would not release him with his salary), we have to keep him on the team. I do think it is time for Koch to feel a little "twinge" in his shoulder, get put on the DL, wait a week or two to just let him clear his head, and then let him start his rehab ASAP, and then he can figure s*** out.
  24. Very much so. If one of them goes down, the Giants are done.
