  1. But what does Anaheim have that we need?

    New house

    This place is b****ing!
  3. I understand what you're saying, but we won't win in the postseason with Loaiza-Buehrle-Garland as our 1-2-3. Playoffs is a possibility, but winning when we get there is virtually not. I've mentioned Kip Wells, but I had not even considered the Athletics. Their offense is much weaker this year, and if they are out at the break, they could be dealing. I'd take one(or two) of Hudson, Mulder, and Zito.
  4. It's called being a chocolate frosted lame burger picker, not facetious. Unless of course being a chocolate frosted lame burger picker is the same thing as being facetious.
  5. Who says he's going to get a hit by July 31st? This is an invalid poll, because there are not enough options. I think he gets his first hit on August 17th.
  6. I disagree. Those were s*** calls.
  7. Was George Bell perhaps playing for the Blue Jays at the time?
  8. :headshake :banghead :puke
  9. For starters, Sosa is an acronym for a reason Strikes Out Swinging Again And Clemens was getting gift calls all night long. Bonds went down looking twice on pitches well out of the zone. The first one was below his knees and a little outside, and the last one that got Bonds looking was probably atleast 5-6 inches outside. I wonder how much of Clemens $5 mill that home plate ump is got for tonight's game
  10. This is true. I think that would be a little disturbing to hear about. Undressing the biggest need...would that have to deal with getting an ace and then having JR undress him? :puke BTW, I've read in I think it was one of Ken Rosenthal's inside dishes from about 2002 where the Orioles GM at the time aksed Toronto about possibly trading for Shawn Green. Of course, everyone knows that he was traded to Los Angeles in 1999 for Raul Mondesi and Pedro Borbon. So I'm not the only one to make a big mistake like that. Maybe it means I'm in good company
  11. But that is $10 mill well spent. Well, if you ask me or Bartolo anyways.
  12. My bad. I remember what I was thinking of. He visited the Indians. I know he did that. Then the whole signing with Detroit thing was lost somewhere in my brain. I do that sometimes.
  13. Kind of ironic. It's like rain on your wedding. Or a free ride when you've already paid. Or the good advice you just didn't take. How about having 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife?
  14. How the hell could I forget about Urbina?! Oh I know. The fact that the Indians played the Twins in a 3-game set, had 2 games in extras, and one where the Indians were killing the Twins and Urbina still didn't get in the game for Cleveland. If he's not on the DL, then Wedge was making a mistake not using him.
  15. That was the first thing I was thinking too. I swear! Oh, and I became a Sox fan by playing darts. I set up a dart board with all 28 teams(this was pre-1998, ala "the good ole days"), and I threw a dart, and it landed on the Sox.
  16. As do I, but not at the $13 mill a year he's getting. His fat-ass is not worth $13 mill a year. Maybe $8-10 mill.
  17. And just to finish it off, Cleveland wins 11-4. BTW, this division is not going to be tough to win. The two main teams I am concerned about, KC and Minny, have looked like s*** in their first games of the season(given, I haven't seen the Twins, which is stupid-ass s***, thanks FSN-Minnesota or whatever the f*** its name is). The Twins really don't concern me that much, and while that may sound like I'm jinxing them, I really don't feel I am. Their pitching staff is s***(Radke, Santana, and Lohse are an ok 1-2-3, but they have very little after that, and the bullpen is weak), the lineup is not that good either(though it never has been great), and I personally feel Gardenhire bunts way too much. KC's rotation is thin, their bullpen is not much better, and while their offense is solid, it is injury prone(neither Gonzalez nor Sweeney played a full year last year, and Beltran is usually good for one DL stint a year). Cleveland is surprisingly good, though I think this year will more of a growing up year. Not so much like it was last year when they were awful, as I think they'll actually be pretty good, I just don't think their record will support how good they actually were. I mainly think this because I don't think their pitching staff is quite ready yet. They could also be like the 2003 Royals and actually be in the race. We'll have to see. Detroit will improve dramatically. I could see a 25-30 game increase from them. I just don't think their rotation is good enough to keep them competitive. Just so everyone knows, I am high on the Sox this year for 2 reasons. First and foremost, I just like the vibe I'm getting from the Sox themselves, and this has been supported by the White Sox play so far, other then the bottom of the 9th on Monday(but let's not go there). If you ask me, they have played the best baseball out of all the AL Central teams thus far, and I could easily see them getting out to a 15-5 start or so, go up 5 or 6 games on the rest of the division, and then not look back. Another reason is due to what I have said above. I just don't think the other 4 teams can match up to the Sox. To borrow one of i4e's favorite sayings, winning the AL Central will be like being the tallest midget, or to compare it to baseball standards, being the best player on the 2003 Detroit Tigers(or the 1962 Mets for our "ancient" posters on here). I think that if we are 8-10 games over .500 at the end of May(which would be about 30-20, and I think that's entirely possible...consider that it's winning 3 of every 5 games), and we could already be running away with the division. However, I am getting completely ahead of myself. It is still the first week of the season. I'll enjoy it.
  18. Ask them what looking forward to Pistons basketball in May was like. And then if they snap some smart-ass comment back, be like "I'm captain of the wrestling team, b****. Don't f*** with me. " and use feeling like that too. If they are a smart-ass again, do a little of this , this , and be like, "That's what I thought dumbass." If they are a smart-ass again, well, you'll have to think of that one on your own.
  19. He won didn't he? He had a quality start, didn't he? He was solid. Good stuff, bad location. I didn't see the whole game, but that was basically how it went, or so it seemed. As beck pointed out, once he started throwing the heater more often, he became more effective. Ozzie left him in the 6th to see if he could get Guiel, and he walked him, and that was the end of his day. Two games down for Ozzie, and still no mistakes as far as I'm concerned. That's the thing I'm happiest about. I figured Jerry would have made 4 or 5 dumbass moves by now.
  20. I've always thought they should use brightly colored baseballs in the metrodome. A fluorescent color, maybe a bright yellow or orange, would work best. Hell, throw the whole fluorescent rainbow in there and have it be purple, pink, green, and blue in there too. It's a little less work to do that then to paint the ceiling. Either that, or they can tear down the dome and just build an actual stadium so that way they are actually playing home games outside.
  21. Have you seen Politte pitch this year? He has closer written all over him. If he didn't close, Lightenberg sure as hell could close too.
