You should take your own advice. Williams has limited range in CF(and you could tell when you saw balls falling in when he was out there, and those same balls were being caught by Rowand today) and has a weak-ass arm(which was exposed as far back as the 2002 playoffs against Anaheim). I'd take Maggs in CF over Williams in CF, and Maggs is a natural RFer. Personally, I feel Maggs should be resigned, and it should happen no matter how much it costs. If he wants $13-14 mill a year, then give it to him. IMO, he's worth it.

So long as he continues to own the Twins. And he lets us hit the s*** out of him too.

Unless we lose Come on, be a team player.

Not to make an attempt at jinxing us, but I could see us being 5-8 games ahead of the rest of the pack after around 30 games while the other teams continue to lick their wounds(or while they just plain suck). If we find a way to 20-10 or even 22-8 or so, and the rest find themselves somewhere around the 15-15 mark(or even worse), and we could be looking real damn good.

Until they wander their drunk ass into an umpire or player or coach. Oh wait, that's only at USCF that happens, right Oakland A's fans?

I've always felt that any player in the league is available at the right price. However, you need to find the best deal out there. I think that we should not acquire a starter to just GET us to the playoffs. I want to get a pitcher who will help get us TO the playoffs and then help us win IN the playoffs and actually do some damage. What I'm basically saying is that we should not acquire a 5th starter if Wright sucks, or a 4th starter if Scho sucks, or not a 4th AND 5th starter if both Scho and Wright suck. We should look for a top of the line starter who will start in the postseason for us. With that being said, some names that could come up and would be worth the price are Livan Hernandez(him being the main one that could), Russ Ortiz(if Atlanta falls out), Al Leiter(if the Mets are out, which they should be) should be available, and if the Athletics fall out, and you overpay, I'm sure you could get one(or two) of the Mulder-Zito-Hudson combo(in that trade you'd probably have to give up a top 5 prospect, a top 10 prospect, and then probably another fringe prospect or two as well, along with another MLB player too; if you get two, you'd just double that). I would take any of them. Also, Kip Wells, as the Pirates will be out. Again, the price has to be right, and you'd probably have to overpay. Another could be Joel Piniero, though, again, you've have to overpay. And I'm sure they'd deal Jamie Moyer too. I'd take both. Those are just some names.

O'Neal was a WR? I could have sworn he was a CB

He is the AJ Pierzynski of the Royals. He is the guy you(you being the fan in general) hate when he is playing against you, but would love to see put on your uniform. He is the definition of a pain in the ass.

For looking bloody awful at the plate sometimes(you watch him swing sometimes, and wonder why he swung in the first place), he's a pretty solid 3Bman. I believe it was Lou Brock(though that could be wrong) who said "you show me a guy who is afraid to look bad at the plate, and I'll show you a guy you can get out."

Did anyone take note of his changeup(I think it was his changeup). The Yankees commentators were calling it a breaking ball, but I am pretty sure it was his changeup. Anyways, his fastball was about 85-88 or so, and his changeup was 65 or so. You wanna take about off-balance...holy s***.

I love minor league baseball

He didn't look that much smaller to me Guess I just never noticed how big he was in the past.

So what you are saying is that if we only have to give up Wunsch to get Bellhorn, it is a good trade, and if Bellhorn plays like he did in 2002, it's an excellent trade? If this is true, I agree. I feel we could still use a leadoff hitter, but that's not something we need to worry about too incredibly much. Get a guy who can get on base up there(if Paul Konerko can put up a .425 OBP and hits .340, and most of his hits are singles, he is my leadoff hitter, or at the very least, hitting 2nd).
-
The prior will rule over the latter tomorrow IMO. This team looks like it can do a hell of a lot of things.
-
I like Aaron out there no matter what, but if Timo can put up a .270-.280 average, he is a hell of a 4th OF option. And we got all that for a guy we had no use for. Sweet.

He was trying to prove that he will have confidence in Garland, no matter what Garland does. I don't want Oz to make a habit of it, but a start now and then, to me, is no big deal.
-
LMAO...us poor Dakotans. Good stuff cw.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If we are just in it at the break, a starter will probably be acquired and we will be off to the races. I think this is very much a team that will get it going later on, especially in the summer months. To me, they seem like a team that can win in many ways, be it pitching the s*** out of the ball, hitting homers, getting hit after hit after hit, get em on-get em over-get em in, or a combination of them all(or maybe more ways). If I had it my way, it would be Winning Ugly all over again.

LMAO Took the words right out of my mouth

And let me be the first to say that we lose this game last year if JM is managing. He would have taken Jonny out in the 5th when he started walking everything that held a bat at the plate, a reliever would have come in and then given up tons of runs. The Yankees are probably the ones winning 9-3, not us. Props to Ozzie for that move. Also, props to Jon for getting off to a good start this year(albeit one game). His ERA the past 2 Aprils has been like 8.00.
-
That's exactly how I feel right now.
-
And I think he can play a little OF too. I know he can play all 4 IF positions though. I like Bellhorn. Good eye at the plate IIRC. Strikes out quite a bit, never has a good average, but has good power. For Wunsch? I'll take him. He could be a Tony Graffanino type.
-
Well I'm sure he didn't like pitches in his earhole. And I'm sure he got a few of them in his day.
-
This is true. I've known that you've said good things about him. Now that we're on the subject of Angels players who can be middle infielders, what do you think about Chone Figgins? Is he Willie Harris, or maybe a little better then Willie Harris? Now that the Angels have Guillen, Anderson, Salmon, and Guerrero, I would imagine that makes him expendable

That play is HUGE. I guarantee, this will bite the Yankees in the ass. Swings momentum in our favor.
