Any reason why?

Our bullpen - Cotts(and will probably be demoted when Wunsch comes off the DL), Adkins, Takatsu, Jackson, Marte, Politte, and Koch Twins bullpen - Fultz, Balfour, Thomas(will make 2 starts or so)Roa, Romero, Rincon, and Nathan Royals bullpen - Sullivan, Leskanic, Grimsley....someone help!!!! That's one example. Then consider the offenses(ours is probably much better then the other two), and our rotation is way, way better then the Royals, and I would probably take it over the Twins too. Last year, we would have won the division if we had a manager whom the players responded to. This year, we do have one, but a little less talent. Doesn't matter to me. What we need will be gotten by the All-Star break, and we could have it by the end of June(afterall, KW did get Everett and Alomar on July 1st of last year). If we go .556 throughout the year(and for those of you who do not understand, that's a .556 winning percentage, or 90 wins), I can almost guarantee we win. Also, it would help to win 11 or 12 of 19 against both Minny and KC(and we can go more), along with beating the teams we need to beat(Detroit, Cleveland, Texas, Tampa, etc) and we are fine.

And the whipping boy continues to be whipped.

Damn, SS2k4 is just being so unclear on this thread. I have absolutely no idea who he is talking about. And I agree with the article, however, I question one part of it. In it, Phil mentions something like "other then Eddie Guardado, is there any other lefty in the AL you would want more?" I completely disagree with that, because he seems to be implying that Guardado is better then Marte, when this is simply not true. I personally feel Marte blows Guardado out of the water, and the only lefty who is better then him in the majors is Billy Wagner.

I have also heard Erickson is an asshole. I want no part of him. Let's struggle through Scho and Wright instead of bringing on Erickson

You wanna know why I like our chances? Look at the Twins bullpen (from rotoworld.com) If I am understanding this correctly, Nathan will probably replace Guardado, Romero will remain as a lefty setup man, Rincon will become the righty setup man, Balfour will probably take Rincon's spot as middle reliever(coming in during the 6th or so), and the others are just there. Then I look at our bullpen and see that it is probably going to be better then theirs...Koch, Politte, Marte, Shingo, Jackson, Wunsch, and probably Adkins...though it may not be. I still say we win the division, destroy everything in our path in the playoffs, and storm to the World Series.

Damn, and here I was getting all hopeful that the Sox had finally traded Konerko and some action was going to go down.

Brown is pretty f***ing good. Damn, Bears O-Line is getting pretty f***ing good. Tait and Brown just in one offseason, plus Kreutz too. If they get a good receiver or two, Rex could have some fun this year. Also, I think this all but guarantees that they will be drafting D-Line in the first(and maybe second and third) round(s) this year.

I'm waiting to hear April Fools. I am thinking the Score just got everybody on this board worse then Rex did last year. Although it wouldn't be a bad trade. I'd then trade probably Lee for a 1Bman(a good 1Bman that is), or maybe trade Lee for a SP and then give Pittsburgh practically nothing for Randall Simon and let him play about half of the games at 1B, while Thomas plays the other half at 1B(and the others he DHs for) and Griff plays half of his games in CF while DHing in others. Move Rowand to LF, while Griff is in CF, put Rowand back into CF while Griff is DHing. It's a little complicated, but it could be arranged so that could work out well. Also, when Griff were to DH and Rowand is in CF, Gload would probably have to play in LF, or the Sox could trade someone else(possibly Scho or Wright) for a solid OFer(but more of one that could come off the bench and only play 60-70 games), or they could bring up Mario Valenzuela or someone else like that and use him as another option in LF when Griff DHs and Rowand is in CF. Listen to me, I sound like the trade has already happened. I am still waiting for April Fools(which will almost undoubtedly happen). The fact that the Sox get Griffey and the complete "coincidence" that it occurred on April Fool's Day is too coincidental for me, and it has to be a joke.

I am not sure if he's been mentioned, but I'd take Derek Lowe. My thing is, if he'd go to Boston, I would ask for Lowe and Nixon along with Williamson. I know Maggs is not worth that(and anyone who knows anything about baseball knows that), but we have the leverage, not them. We do not need to get rid of Maggs, in fact, we damn near need Maggs to win. So they need to blow us away to get Maggs. See where I'm going with this? My thinking is that we would only have to get them relatively interested, and then we work out a deal with them. It could happen. Just like a year and a half from now, I could win the lottery. Anyways, why can't Monday get here already. This Spring Training s*** is starting to piss me off.

Or he may be experiencing the effects of having a fastball that is straighter then an arrow going at 92 MPH with very little breaking stuff and a s*** changeup. You can't get away with throwing a 92 MPH fastball in the majors and that being your only pitch. Maybe you can in AA though.

FYI, Rowand's not a true CFer. He came up as a corner OFer(I believe RF), and was just put in CF, and he made two damn fine catches to save a Buehrle no-no against Tampa Bay in 2001, if memory serves correctly. Since then he has stuck

I wish Liefer could have put it together. He looked solid in 2001, and then his game went all to hell after that, and he could never get anything solved. I always thought MJ was a decent backup catcher. Guess I was wrong.

I dislike Steinbrenner so much that it is no longer funny. But I don't think he does that. He signed Lofton to a 2-year deal and IIRC, Lofton is playing CF, with Williams DHing.
