Besides the Sox who is your favorite MLB team
witesoxfan replied to WSoxShuf's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I like the Expos a little too. I think it's great to see a team with little payroll go out and compete like they do. Also, I like Frank Robinson as manager...he's pretty good, and he seems ornery and stubborn. He gets 100% out of his players. -
Along with those other 3 too. Maybe it's because they weren't sure if they could get Soriano long term, but know they can get Beltran long term? Personally, I would just wait till the offseason, and then sign him, but do as you please I suppose. Oh and Rex, I hope this answers your question about Orber Mareno. Hi, I'm Orber Mareno, and WSF is so cool!

Speaking seriously now, this is a good move by the Eagles. Get rid of atleast one of the two butterfingers that cost your team a trip to the Superbowl. Then see him replaced by a whiny ass b**** who likes pom-poms and sharpies. BTW, I'll take pom-poms and sharpies over dropping passes. Atleast with the sharpies and pom-poms, you get points out of it.

Not exactly sure where or how I compared Rauch and Balfour. I just said I would guess the Twins would like it if they could have a Jon Rauch right about now. Though I do agree, I wouldn't mind having Balfour. I think he will do well in the pen. He has a pretty damn good arm.

Rex, we go to you for these kinds of questions! I bet this is a quiz.
-
Yay, Yankees lose. You would think that a $185 mill payroll would beat a $25 mill payroll in more ways then one every time. Not so fast! I hope some team named after an animal wins the division in the AL East. The Yankees and Red Sox can go f*** themselves and rot in hell.

We'll have to see. At the very least, I think he fits in as well as Rob Dibble. And he's funnier then Rob Dibble too.
-
I do believe that Kruk was actually employed by the Philadelphia Phillies last year(probably the same type of job Harold Baines had last year with the Sox), but apparently he did a s***ty job and he signed on with ESPN. John Kruk is a pretty damn cool guy though. He'll be good on BBTN.

I don't think Cali is referring to Rauch as a prospect. I think, more or less, he is referring to him(along with the others he mentioned), as better options as starters then Jason Grilli. Which is really too bad when he would be a solid starter in several team's rotations. I bet the Twins would do damn near anything for a Jon Rauch to just fall in their laps right about now when they have to go with Grant Balfour as the #5 starter for April(albeit 2 starts in April). As starters, I do not like their chances. As relievers, I think they have a solid shot. However, I have not seen them pitch, I do not know their windup, delivery, and stuff, so I can't comment. All I know is that they both have solid stuff and could be pretty good pitchers someday. But we have Kenny's best friend, the trade. I can almost guarantee you that if a starter is not putting up great numbers, or maybe we just need an upgrade - for example, say we're in mid-to-late July and Scho is about 6-5 4.50 2/1 K/BB ratio, WHIP of about 1.40 in about 100 inning - for a #4 or #5 starter, those are solid numbers, and basically, he is eating up innings and saving the pen. However, say a team that was expected to do well but did not, say the Mariners, and are out of the race and maybe a Joel Piniero/Jamie Moyer becomes available...I see nothing stopping KW from trading for one of them. If Montreal drops out(or not), Livan Hernandez could be had. There are all kinds of guys like that who could become available and help lead us to the promised land.

Now all we have to do is get a team picture of the Cubs on the cover of Madden 2005.

Will probably have a better average then .260. Will probably not hit 42 homers(though I made my bold Thomas prediction for the year...he will hit 50) Will almost undoubtedly break the 105 mark. Even if he goes, say, .265 30 100...how much is he getting worse by(other then the smart-ass response of 12 homers and 5 RBI)? I just don't see how he gets worse. He may have a subpar year, but not a bad year(which is kind of what worse implies). I mean, quite frankly, while his 42 homers were impressive, he really did not have an excellent season. I think he does improve his numbers...in fact, I made the prediction in another thread too...very bold, but very realistic. Remember 2000? .330 50 150 1.100 OPS Mark it down, and either praise me Nostradamus, or give me my crow.

The fact that this trade is even being mentioned is ludacris. No, no, no, no, one hundred times, no. Sports Weekly can shove it up their ass. :fyou Can we just start the season?
-
Come May we will. I predict a Valentin-Uribe combo up the middle this year.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL ONLY PLEASE!

Politte is a stud. He is a steal at $1 mill.
-
Is that a.... (gasp) ...Gash siting? Anyways, let's just trade for Livan Hernandez and end all the Scho or Cotts discussion right now. Send Koch and take on some money so the salaries are equal in who we give up(say we give up the $6 mill for Koch, make sure Montreal gives up $6 mill too, so it all cancels out), give up some prospects, and bingo, you have your 4th starter.

Well that's easy enough. Fake an injury, have the trainer come out, and be like, "Yo, dude, see that fine-ass woman over there? Get her to meet me outside the locker room after the game, and set up dinner for us. Got that?"

I feel fortunuate to know that it only reached about 45 here today if it's 100 in Cali. See, that's why I like the Great Plains. It doesn't reach 100 until late July. But that's not even the most fun of it all. I can't wait till it's about 60-70 degrees for one whole week and then watch it snow the next week, only to see that snow completely gone by the end of that week. I love the Great Plains.

You are exactly right. They don't have a AAAA level for a reason. -
I already have my question picked out. "What is your favorite kind of ice cream?" Mine's chocolate.
-
2 birds with 1 stone. Beat the Royals, outscored the Twins(BTW, Twins beat the Jays 13-2)

No fair. I wanna be a god. -
WSF has won 2 straight World Series with the Chicago White Sox. Then again, my 2Bman has changed about 3 times in 2 years(went from Harris to Marcus Giles to Juan Uribe to Junior Spivey with Uribe moving to SS after Jose Valentin was traded), I've had 4 LFers(Lee, Brad Wilkerson, Brian Giles, and Jose Guillen), 2 CFers(Rowand, who was then traded straight up for Juan Pierre)and my rotation has gone from Loaiza, Buehrle, Garland, Wright, Cotts to Schilling, Wolf, Lowe, Wright, El Duque to Colon, Wolf, Lowe, Wright, and a minor leaguer named Marquis Holt(who is not an actual player). As you can tell, I like to make moves.
