So what is worse, Steve Francis saying "That is a bunch of bulls***" on national TV, or Simon Cowell flipping off Paula Abdul? If you answered neither is that big of a deal, you are correct.

And everyone knows I'm in that club. Garland is going to have a huge year...I'm predicting 17-11 3.85 ERA

Would you like it if I hit the s*** out of you 50 times a year for 3 straight years? -
Exactly. We have some prospects that could be decent major leaguers some day(Cotts, Pacheco, Diaz off the top of my head), and the key word there is could be. I like this new class of guys though. I think a lot of them will develop nicely.
-
I would guess we are so low because a ton of our better prospects are in the lower levels. Wait for them to mature and start to develop into good players, and we will probably be top 5-10 again.

MORE physical trouble for Prior

I'm just curious...this is basically to anyone. Can anybody tell me how many arms Dusty has actually ruined or at the very least messed up for a year in his career as a manager? -
It's very understandable. You got the speedy guy in front of you(he gets on, he is a huge threat to steal, so you will not throw junk, or he could steal easily), so you have to throw more fastballs in that case, and you have the big boppers behind you, so you don't want to get to them by walking the #2 hitter. However, as the #6 and mainly #7 hitter, he's got a good #8 hitter coming up after him, but an 8 hitter none the less, so he will get fewer pitches to hit, as they will not care as much if they walk him. It's why a lot of guys excel in the #2 spot, and why Rowand would be a good candiate for it.

I don't think the Cubs are trying to win dick. For starters, Dusty Baker is one of the better managers in the league, especially at getting prepared for each game. And really, Cruz DID get a shot, and was demoted to the pen. This occurred in 2002. He started in April, was about 0-5 with a 3.25 ERA, lost all confidence, and started to suck ass. I totally think that this kid is better suited somewhere else. I think his one knock is his size. He's 6'2'' and weighs about 155-165. I'm a skinny-ass kid and I'm 5'10'' 150; his forearms have to damn near toothpicks(not that your forearms have anything to do with pitching, I am just suggesting that he is going to look thin as hell). Another knock on Cruz had got to be his control. In 02, he walked damn near 5.5/9 IP...that is waaaay to high. Due to that many walks, his WHIP was 1.47...you cut those walks in half(I went from 59 to 30) and his WHIP is a solid 1.17. You do that and his K/BB is exactly 2.7(once again, solid). He also had a solid 7.5 K/9IP, and with or without the walks, that is still solid. If he could get his control figured out, and his head on right, he could be a very good pitcher. Some guys just never get it(see Brett Tomko, and up to last year, Esteban Loaiza) BTW, Cruz was 3-11 3.98 ERA in 97.3 innings with 9 starts. -
Are those career numbers??? Holy s***...I'd say the #2 spot should be his. Put Valentin at 6, Konerko 7, Crede 8, and Olivo 9.

Which is why we are lucky as hell to have a Matt Ginter or a Jon Adkins in the minors.

I'm telling you, division winner, destroy everything in our path in the playoffs, and be World Champions. This is the year we see the transformation from the old, at times whiny Frank Thomas to the new, older, more mature Thomas, and it will reflect in his performance on the field. If you want a similar transformation to compare this to, look at Barry Bonds from 00-01(I don't know what happened to him in that offseason(maybe he found a box of roids that Sammy left at the stadium on a road trip? ), but something happened for the better, and his numbers increased a ton, and he went from a career high of 49 homers to a career high of 73 homers, and has had a significant effect on any game played that he plays in) I'll call it...Thomas hits .330 50 150(both the 50 and the 150 are White Sox records) 1.100 OPS.

I wanna say something about how he owns two teams that have underachieved terribly over the past few years, but I can't think of a good punchline.

What would you need such a big back seat for anyways?

21,000 grand? Does that mean you spend $21,000,000 on it? If so, I think you overpaid!

My first car, 92 turquoise Grand Am(just got it maybe a month ago), bought for about $650, got the engine fixed up(my dad noticed it had little power when accelerating, we took it in, and we found out it was running on only 2 cylinders ), and so far we've put about $1,200 into it. Got a decent system in it, but still has the original radio...that will be dealt with ASAP, and I will get a killer system in that beast. I like it a lot. In fact, just the other day, I did exactly what Yahtz did and I just sat out in it for about a half hour just messing around with s***. It is fun as hell to do that. It looks a little like this(only in better shape)

It's a strong possibility. However, that does not mean it will happen. If Montreal is contending(and they very well could be...they have a nice core of players up there, with Johnson at 1B, Vidro at 2B, Cabrera at SS, Batista at 3B, Everett in LF, Wilkerson in RF, and Chavez in CF along with Schneider behind the plate, and an OK rotation...they could be a pretty good team, especially with Frank Robinson managing), they will probably not trade anyone. However, if they are out of contention, they will almost undboutedly be sellers at the deadline. My thinking in this is is that the Sox can match any offer and make it better then the Yankees offer. The only thing the Yankees can do is outspend the Sox, and Selig vetoed a deal last year that involved the Yankees giving too much money to Cincinatti in the Boone and White for whatever the Yankees gave up(so the Yanks broke it down into two deals, and the commish approved both). Basically, he won't let them buy players any more, which gives a slight advantage to the Sox IMO. Anyways, this is all foresight and the odds of any of it happening are quite slim. It's still fun though.

He doesn't look like he's sliding to me. Then again, I don't know what the hell it looks like he's doing, but I know that sure as hell doesn't look like he's sliding.
